Abstract

Elderly Posyandu cadres are pivotal in delivering promotive and preventive care to the older population. The efficacy of Posyandu services is intimately linked to the performance of the cadres. Various aspects that may affect the success of Posyandu cadres include motivation, communication, and rewards. This study sought to ascertain the correlation among communication motivation, incentives, and the performance of older Posyandu cadres in the Kepanjenkidul District of Blitar City. This research employed a cross-sectional study design, with 130 elderly Posyandu cadres from the Kepanjenkidul District in Blitar City as the study population. The sample approach employed a basic random sampling procedure, yielding 100 respondents who satisfied the inclusion criteria of being active cadres for over 6 months. Respondents unwilling to provide informed consent constituted the exclusion criteria. Data was gathered through a questionnaire administered in November 2023. The data analysis employed several linear regression tests. The analysis results indicated a correlation between motivation and the performance of Posyandu cadres (p-value=0,006), a correlation between communication and the performance of elderly Posyandu cadres (p-value=0,002), and a correlation between the two and the performance of elderly Posyandu cadres (p-value=0,000). Additionally, a correlation existed among motivation, communication, and incentives and the performance of older Posyandu cadres (p-value 0,000). Strategies for coaching and mentoring that Community Health Centers and Districts can be implemented to enhance the performance of older Posyandu cadres.

Abstract

The research comprehensively examines the application of Evidence-Based Management (EBMgt) in decision-making for health service policies at Clinic of Plantation Company X. The main focus is on the influence of six types of evidence: Scientific and Research Evidence, Hospital Facts and Information, Political-Social Development Plans, Professional Managerial Expertise, Ethical-Moral Evidence, and Stakeholder Values and Expectations on policy decisions in the clinic. This study uses a quantitative method with a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach based on Partial Least Squares (PLS). Data were collected through structured questionnaires from 110 respondents comprising managers and decision-makers at the clinic. Instrument validity and reliability were tested before conducting the measurement and structural model analysis. The findings show that all six evidence dimensions significantly affect policy decision-making (p < 0.05). The measurement model met convergent and discriminant validity criteria with AVE and composite reliability values above 0.70. Integrating these evidence dimensions enhances the quality, effectiveness, and accountability of managerial decisions at the clinic. The research highlights the importance of a holistic EBMgt approach combining empirical data, professional expertise, and ethical-social aspects to support effective and responsible policy decisions in healthcare services. The study recommends strengthening the use of multiperspective evidence in clinic policy management to achieve better and sustainable service outcomes.

Abstract

Sports significantly contribute to students' physical and mental development, enhancing fitness and social skills. However, high-intensity training, such as sprinting, often results in Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS), which can impair athletic performance and motivation. Massage manipulation therapy is a physiotherapeutic approach aimed at preventing and alleviating DOMS symptoms while increasing the Range of Motion (ROM) and reducing muscle pain in sprinter athletes at SMAN 91 Jakarta. This quasi-experimental study employed a pre-test and post-test design with three groups: ESK (effleurage, shaking, kneading, n=15), ESH (effleurage, shaking, hacking, n=16), and a control group (n=13). Interventions were administered once weekly over four weeks. ROM was measured using a goniometer, and muscle soreness was assessed via the Visual Analog Scale (VAS). Data were analyzed using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk tests for normality, the Friedman test, and further analysis using the Kruskal-Wallis test for within-group differences. The ESK group showed a significant reduction in muscle soreness from a mean of 3.48 to 1.91 (p<0.005), while the ESH group exhibited a significant improvement in ROM from a mean of 1.56 to 3.06 (p<0.005). The control group showed no statistically significant changes in either variable. Massage manipulation therapy was effective in reducing muscle pain and enhancing ROM. ESH was more effective for improving ROM, whereas ESK was more effective for reducing pain. These findings emphasize the importance of combining multiple Massage techniques for comprehensive physiotherapy benefits in school-based athletic training.
