Abstract

This study applies a multiple linear regression model. The results of the study show that simultaneously, FDI and Trade openness are proven to contribute positively and significantly to Economic Growth with a calculated F value of 7.985 > F table 5.318 and a Sig. value of 0.016 < 0.05. However, partial analysis shows that FDI, although showing a positive direction, does not have a significant influence on economic growth with a calculated T value of 1.913 > T table 1.860 and Sig. 0.097 > 0.05. In contrast, Trade Openness has a positive and statistically significant impact with a calculated T value of 3.933 > T table 1.860 and Sig. 0.006 < 0.05. With the model's ability to explain 60.8% of the variation in Economic Growth, this study implies that Trade Openness currently plays a more dominant and stable role than FDI in driving the Indonesian economy. These findings have policy implications: the government needs to balance foreign investment promotion strategies with strengthening the domestic export structure and increasing national industrial capacity to ensure a more productive impact of FDI. Future research is recommended to expand the variables to include factors such as institutional quality, political stability, and the ease of doing business index to obtain a more comprehensive picture.

Abstract

The leadership of madrasah heads is a key determinant in facing digital transformation and strengthening character education. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of madrasah head training programs and test the novelty of training models that integrate transformational leadership, educational technology, and Islamic character. Using a Research and Development (R&D) approach with a 4-D model, the research involved 30 madrasah heads within the Ministry of Religion of Banjarmasin City. Data were collected via Likert-scale questionnaires, observations, and interviews, and then analyzed using the Paired Sample T-Test. The results showed a significant increase in post-training competencies, with the highest score increase in the aspect of educational technology (73%), followed by character education (42%), and transformational leadership (41%). Additionally, 90% of participants successfully adopted the e-learning platform, and 85% actively participated in leadership simulations. This study concludes that the integrated training model is effective in enhancing the managerial competence and adaptability of madrasah heads, while also having a positive impact on teacher motivation and student discipline.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse and map the development of literature on risk analysis in Islamic financial institutions. The data used in this study is secondary data obtained from scientific journal articles. The data source for this study is the academic database Google Scholar. The Publish or Perish (PoP) software was used to collect data, and the data analysis tools employed in this study included Microsoft Excel, Mendeley Desktop, and VOSviewer. Data collection from the PoP application from 2016 to 2025 yielded 997 articles from both international and national journals, totalling 17,030 citations, with an average of 1,892 citations per year and 17 citations per article. The results of the network visualisation map obtained 287 keywords divided into 18 clusters, 3,110 links, and a total link strength of 6,596, arranged in a collection of grouped and interconnected colored circles. In this study, network visualisation analysis of research themes and trends reveals the evolution of thinking from theoretical aspects to practical applications. In contrast, citation analysis highlights the topics most widely considered in the literature. The analysis in this study includes article publication citation analysis, bibliometric network visualisation analysis based on keywords, bibliometric overlay visualisation analysis, keyword classification analysis, and link strength analysis in the type of co-occurrence analysis, as well as bibliometric analysis on research flows (gap research). From these stages of analysis, three recommendations for further research are mapped.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the efficiency level of the National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) at the district and municipal levels in Indonesia, with a particular focus on managerial capacity, resource optimization, and strategies for zakat collection and distribution in improving institutional performance. This research employs a quantitative approach using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method to assess the relative efficiency of BAZNAS units. An input–output model is applied, where inputs consist of total assets and operational costs, while outputs include zakat collection and distribution. The study utilizes secondary data derived from the financial reports of selected BAZNAS institutions and conducts a comparative efficiency analysis across decision-making units. The results indicate that the efficiency levels of BAZNAS institutions vary significantly across regions, with only a limited number achieving full efficiency. Several institutions operate below optimal efficiency due to suboptimal asset utilization, high operational costs, and less effective zakat collection and distribution strategies. Furthermore, managerial capacity and the implementation of good governance principles are found to play a critical role in determining institutional efficiency. This study provides important implications for policymakers and zakat administrators in enhancing efficiency through strengthening managerial capacity, improving resource allocation, and adopting innovative, technology-based zakat management strategies. However, this research is limited by the relatively small sample size and reliance on secondary data, which may not fully capture qualitative aspects such as public trust and governance quality. This study contributes to the literature on Islamic philanthropy by integrating efficiency analysis using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) with a conceptual framework encompassing managerial capacity, resource optimization, and operational strategies at the local government level. The findings offer practical insights for improving zakat management performance and serve as a reference for future research and policy development.

Abstract

Digital transformation has reshaped English language teacher education by requiring pre-service teachers to develop not only pedagogical knowledge but also digital literacy, intercultural awareness, and reflective teaching competence. However, the integration of technology, culture, and pedagogy remains limited in many teacher education contexts. This study investigated the effectiveness of technology-based Cultural Discovery Learning (CDL) in enhancing the teaching competence of pre-service English teachers and examined the quality of its implementation in the learning process. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design was employed. The participants were 77 undergraduate students from the English Education Study Program at Universitas Sulawesi Barat, consisting of 38 students in the experimental group and 39 students in the control group. Data were collected through pre-tests, post-tests, classroom observation, and documentation. Descriptive statistics and an independent-sample t-test were used to analyze the data. The findings revealed that the experimental group achieved a higher gain score (21.39) than the control group (7.62). The independent-sample t-test showed a significant difference between the two groups, t(75) = 6.212, p < .001. Observation results also indicated that the CDL model was implemented with very high fidelity, with an average score of 90 across cultural objectives, authentic digital media, cultural discovery activities, reflection, and digital product creation. These findings suggest that technology-based CDL is an effective pedagogical framework for developing pre-service English teachers’ pedagogical, digital, intercultural, and reflective competencies.

Abstract

This study aims to comparatively analyze fiscal policy in contemporary Indonesia and the fiscal policy implemented during the era of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), identifying shared principles and potential integrations of Islamic fiscal values into modern governance. Employing a qualitative-descriptive approach with library research, primary data were derived from the Qur’an, authentic Hadith, and classical fiqh sources (e.g., Al-Mughni, Al-Ahkam al-Sultaniyyah), while secondary data included government documents (APBN 2025 Framework, BKF Reports 2024), and peer-reviewed journals (2020–2025). Findings indicate that both systems share core objectives economic stabilization, equitable income distribution, and public welfare enhancement—yet differ significantly in legal foundations (positive law vs. divine revelation), revenue instruments (taxes/PNBP vs. zakat, jizyah, kharaj, fay’), and accountability mechanisms (institutional audit vs. li Allāh wa li al-nās spiritual oversight). Notably, values such as ‘adl (justice), amanah (trustworthiness), transparency, and maslahah ‘ammah (public interest) from the Prophetic fiscal model offer ethical enrichment for Indonesia’s fiscal governance. The study concludes that integrating these values through progressive taxation, zakat–APBN synergy, digital hisbah, and productive waqf can strengthen fiscal legitimacy, social equity, and moral accountability without replacing the existing system. Keywords : fiscal policy, Islamic economics, Prophet Muhammad (SAW), Baitul Mal, APBN
