Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Blue Cartoon animation media in enhancing English language learning motivation at SD IT Imam Syafii Pekanbaru. The main obstacle faced in the English language learning process was the lack of intrinsic motivation among students, stemming from limited understanding of semantics and linguistic context. This condition requires educators to develop creative and innovative pedagogical strategies to increase the appeal of English language learning for students. The implementation of English-language Blue Cartoon animation video media had become one alternative learning strategy that can be applied. Through the use of internet technology, educators could access the YouTube platform to obtain various relevant English-language cartoon content. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, where data collection was conducted through literature review. Literature review was a series of systematic procedures that include activities of reading, note-taking, and analyzing various literature sources to then be synthesized into findings and discussion. The results of data analysis indicate that the used of English-language Blue Cartoon animation media significantly increases interest and motivation for learning English among students at SD IT Imam Syafii Pekanbaru.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of Duolingo, an AI-enhanced mobile learning platform, on English language learning outcomes among sixth-grade students at Sekolah Dasar Islam Terpadu (SDIT) Imam Syafii Cendikia, Pekanbaru. Despite the growing integration of digital technologies in Indonesian secondary and higher education, the application of AI-based platforms in Islamic elementary schools remains limited. This research addresses this gap by examining how adaptive, gamified learning tools can enhance linguistic achievement while maintaining alignment with Islamic educational values. A one-group pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design was employed with 30 participants over six weeks. Results indicated significant improvement in English proficiency, with mean scores increasing from 62.47 (SD = 10.42) to 81.63 (SD = 7.91), yielding a large effect size (Cohen's d = 0.88). Questionnaire data revealed highly positive student perceptions (M = 4.36, SD = 0.52) regarding motivation, usability, and attitudes toward AI-based learning. Classroom observations confirmed high engagement levels (M = 4.32) across attention, participation, and collaborative behavior. The findings suggest that AI-driven adaptive learning platforms can effectively personalize instruction, reduce achievement gaps, and foster intrinsic motivation in mixed-ability classrooms when culturally contextualized within faith-based pedagogy. This study contributes empirical evidence supporting the integration of AI-assisted language learning in Indonesian Islamic elementary education.

Keyword: Peran Pendidikan Islam, Kenakalan Remaja, Lingkungan Sekolah.

Abstract

Inclusive governance typically denotes an ethical framework that assures jointly, participatory, and culturally sensitive policy-making, especially in the execution of urban child protection initiatives. This research digs into and discusses the public discourse around the Indonesian Kota Layak Anak (Child-Friendly City/KLA) policy, examining the different media narratives on how they emancipate, legitimize, obfuscate, or thwart the principles of inclusive governance. By using a corpus-assisted discourse analysis (CADS) method, the authors carry out an analysis of 136 articles from different national and local media that were published between 2011 and 2025, and talk about the KLA implementation in Surakarta. The analysis operationalizes inclusive governance along system (collaborative, multi-level governance), actor (accountability, deliberative participation), and culture (community-driven governance) dimensions. The findings reveal that community narratives and cultural narratives prevail discursively and that these heavily draw on local traditions, communal involvement, and symbolic activities. Conversely, accountability and institutional collaboration are practically absent from media scrutiny, often mentioned in passing or in gratuitous terms. The media appears to portray KLA more as a ceremonial success rather than an arena for structural policy reform. The article proposes a discourse analysis framework for understanding how these narratives support or undermine inclusive governance. The study thus contributes to the literature of governance evaluation, policy framing, and discourse analysis by designing a replicable method to assess how the public narration mirrors or masks multi-actor urban policy realities.

Abstract

This research was carried out to investigate a relationship between self-directedness, self-involvement, expressive language, self-assessment, language varieties, metacognitive skills, editing and problem solving, text processing, knowledge rehearsal, idea planning, goal oriented monitoring and evaluating, peer learning, feedback handling, interest enhancement, motivational self-talk, and emotional control and the main and forming factors of self-directedness, self-involvement, expressive language, self-assessment, language varieties, metacognitive skills, editing and problem solving, text processing, knowledge rehearsal, idea planning, goal oriented monitoring and evaluating, peer learning, feedback handling, interest enhancing, motivational self-talk, and emotional control of self directed learning. A convenience sample approach was used to recruit English majors from a range of State University of Yogyakarta. All participants were recruited intentionally, and that they were informed that they might leave the study at any moment either during collecting data. The participant criteria include second-year English major students from various State Universities of Yogyakarta. As the result of pearson correlation in this research, it was found that there was a substantial relationship between the variables examined in this research. Moreover, as the result of factor analysis in this research was found that from the 11 variables included in the research namely self involvement, expressive language, self assessment, language varieties, metacognitive skills, editing and problem solving, Cognition, Metacognition, Social Behavior, and Motivational Regulation, they can be grouped into two main factors. The implications of these findings lie in a deeper understanding of the underlying conceptual structure of self-directed learning in a university context. With the identification of the key factors emerging from these variables, a more focused approach can be developed to enhance students' self-directed learning. This can also aid in the development of more precise and measurable assessment instruments to gauge progress in crucial aspects of self-directed learning. Thus, the implications of these findings can enrich teaching and learning practices in higher education settings.
