Abstract

Stunting is a condition of growth failure in children under five due to inadequate nutritional intake. The main characteristic of stunting is that the child's height is not age-appropriate, which is shorter than children of the same age. Steps to prevent stunting can be taken in various ways, including educational activities, nutrition fulfillment, and anthropometric training. Training on using anthropometry during measurement is expected to make the data collection of children's nutritional status more accurate, and the fulfillment of nutritional sources through local innovations such as independent aquaculture can contribute to providing protein sources. This community service activity aims to increase the understanding of cadres and mothers of toddlers in Gampong Pasi Jeumpa about stunting prevention. Budikdamber training aims to enable the community to fulfill protein as a source of nutrition independently. Implementing this program is through education, counseling, and training. The activity stages include several vital steps, including program preparation, program socialization with partners, and implementation of education and training. Assistance was provided to understand the training and education activities better. The evaluation was conducted to assess the overall success of the program. The activity results showed increased participants' understanding, with the percentage of understanding increasing from 55% (pre-test) to 91% (post-test). Participants better understood the factors that cause stunting and the steps to prevent stunting. Participants became more aware of how to measure using anthropometric tools. Participants also became more aware of how to cultivate fish on a small scale to fulfill the protein and vitamin needs needed for stunting prevention. [This service activity increased participants knowledge of stunting problems and improved measurement skills using anthropometric tools. Participants understand the proper cultivation steps so that the fish produced can be a source of nutrients needed.

Abstract

Abstract

The potential for aquaculture in Aceh Province is enormous, one of which is in the Nagan Raya Regency area. Fish farmers in the Nagan Raya Regency area have long cultivated freshwater catfish using a conventional system. This catfish cultivation system does not increase the production of farmed fish and does not produce organic fish. This activity aims to educate and assist in applying turmeric probiotic supplementation technology to increase farmed fish production and produce organic catfish. The implementation of this activity is carried out using education and assistance. The stages of implementing the activity include initial discussion with farmer partners (UPR Clarias Fish Farm), program preparation, education of community service activities, community service activity workshops, monitoring and evaluation, and activity reporting. Indicator of success in the education and assistance method is that partners understand the material and practices presented by the presenter regarding turmeric probiotic supplementation and good fish farming methods. This activity is evaluated through pre-test and post-test questionnaires using the material provided. This community service activity is said to be successful if the average value of the farmer partners is obtained ≥75% of the post-test questionnaire given. The results of this community service activity are in the form of increased knowledge and understanding of farmer partners. The harvest results also showed an increase in mass production of farmed fish given turmeric probiotics compared to farmed fish without turmeric probiotics. In conclusion, UPR Clarias Fish Farm's fish farming partners experienced an 80% increase in understanding of turmeric probiotic supplementation and catfish production using turmeric probiotics increased the length gain by 3.9 cm longer or 17.89% compared to without probiotics and fish given turmeric probiotics were also 25.96 grams heavier or 21.72% heavier than without probiotics.

Abstract

The aim of this Community Service (PKM) activity is to provide technical assistance and diagnose damage to drilled well pumps in Gampong Luthu Lamweu, Sukamakmur, Aceh Besar. This method of implementing community service begins with conducting a location survey, outreach to the community, students involved and prospective Thematic KKN students. Next, form a service team and explain the work program, work targets and implementation targets. From the results of field diagnosis and verification, it was found that the installation of the submersible pump was not in accordance with the technical specification data on the pump. This is what makes the pump that was installed in 2021 unable to work as it should after testing the pump (run test). The PKM team recommends: the size of the output pipe be increased from ", to 1.5". Increased pump power from 1 hp to 1.5 hp. The pump capacity has been increased, from 10-40-70 to 20-50-80. Out put diameter from 1.25' to 1.5".

Abstract

Bileh fish (Rasbora sp.) is a fish that lives in freshwater and can be found in the waters of Ie Sayang West Woyla West Aceh District. Excessive exploration has caused the population of bileh fish in nature to decrease and be limited. The first step that needs to be done in aquatic resource management is to identify the type of bileh fish to adopt its cultivation techniques. Fish identification can be done morphologically or molecularly. Morphological identification refers to morphometric studies. This study aims to identify bileh fish species from Ie Sayang waters based on morphometric characteristics. The bileh fish was obtained from community catches in September-November 2023. Morphological identification was done by visualizing and measuring morphometric characters. Data were analyzed descriptively, and the relationship between morphometric characters was analyzed by linear regression. The morphology of bileh fish has a fusiform body shape, terminal mouth type, forked caudal fin, and linea lateralis visible from the operculum to the caudal part. Total length (TL) ranged from 36.94-65.78 mm and standard length (SL) 29.01-52.49 mm. The length-weight correlation of allometric fish was negative. TL characters were closely correlated with SL, HL, DFD, ED, CPD, and VFL.
