Abstract

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low understanding of mathematical concepts of fourth grade elementary school students. This study aims to determine the effect of problem-based learning models assisted by animated video media on the understanding of mathematical concepts of fourth grade elementary school students. This study uses the Quasi Experiment Group Design method with the Nonequivalent Control Group Design type. The study population was 42 students, as well as a sample consisting of students in grades IVA and IVB through saturated sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out through tests, observations, and documentation. Data were analyzed using Independent Samples T-Test. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the understanding of mathematical concepts of students in the experimental and control classes. This is evidenced by the significance value of the Independent Samples T-Test of 0.009 <0.05. Therefore, the Problem-Based Learning model with animated video media affects the mathematical concept understanding of fourth-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

The problem of this research is the low creative thinking skills of fifth-grade students in science and natural science at SD Negeri 3 Simbarwaringin. The purpose of this study was to determine the significant effect of the application of animated videos based on problem-based learning on the creative thinking skills of fifth-grade students in science and natural science. This research method used a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design. The study population consisted of 33 students. The sampling technique used saturated sampling. Data collection techniques used test and non-test techniques. Data analysis used a independent sample t-test using SPSS 25 calculations. If the significance value is <0.005, then Ho is rejected, meaning significant at 0.003 <0.005. The results of this study indicate a significant effect and difference in the application of animated videos based on problem-based learning on the creative thinking skills of fifth-grade students in science and natural science at SD Negeri 3 Simbarwaringin.

Abstract

This study examines the pedagogical strategies of mathematics education content creators on Instagram as a medium for informal digital learning. The research gap lies in the limited studies that place the lived experience of creators as the primary focus, as previous studies have predominantly discussed the use of social media in formal learning or its impact on learners. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through in depth semi structured interviews with five purposively selected mathematics education content creators and observations of their Instagram posts. Data were analyzed through a systematic coding process comprising open coding, axial coding, and selective coding, adapting Strauss and Corbin (1998) within the thematic analysis framework of Miles et al. (2014), with member checking and intercoder review to ensure trustworthiness. The findings reveal four consolidated themes: (1) motivation and identity transformation; (2) pedagogical strategies in content design; (3) negotiating pedagogy and algorithm; and (4) digital learning community. The analysis uncovers rich phenomenological dimensions, including an existential shift from creator by accident to educator by conviction, the psychological pressure of algorithmic demands, and the emotional tension of balancing educational integrity with viral relevance. This study confirms that creator practices represent a form of informal digital pedagogy contributing to the democratization of quality mathematics learning, which can be adapted by elementary school teachers.

Abstract

The problem addressed in this study is the lack of critical thinking skills among third-grade students at SDN 6 Metro Barat. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of implementing the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on critical thinking skills in the Pancasila Education subject. This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design. The population consisted of 76 students, and the sample comprised 50 third-grade students 24 from Class III A and 26 from Class III B at SDN 6 Metro Barat. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling via purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression. The simple linear regression test indicated a significant effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on critical thinking skills in the Pancasila Education subject, with a contribution of 60%. The PBL model was proven to be effective in improving the critical thinking skills of third-grade students at SDN 6 Metro Barat in the Pancasila Education subject.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of pop-up book learning media on students’ creative thinking ability in the deep learning approach of IPAS subject for fourth-grade students at SDN 1 Purwodadi Dalam. This study used a quantitative quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The sample consisted of 53 students 27 in the experimental class (IV B) and 26 in the control class (IV A). Data were collected through essay tests measuring four creative thinking indicators: fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. Simple linear regression showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, R Square = 0.783, meaning pop-up book media contributed 78.3% to creative thinking ability. N-Gain of the experimental class (0.61) was higher than the control class (0.35), and the posttest mean of the experimental class (74.11) exceeded the control class (59.31). Media implementation reached 73% (active category). Pop-up book learning media significantly affects the creative thinking ability of fourth-grade students in the IPAS deep learning approach.
