Abstract

The National Sharia Council of the Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI) plays a central role in shaping the principles of Islamic economic law in Indonesia through its fatwas. These fatwas serve as primary references in the practices of Islamic financial institutions. However, the legal status of DSN-MUI fatwas within national legislation remains a subject of debate, particularly regarding their binding authority. This article aims to analyze the position of DSN-MUI fatwas from the perspective of Islamic law and legislative theory within the national legal system. This study employs a qualitative method with a normative and literature-based approach, examining various legal regulations and legal theories. The findings indicate that in Islamic law, fatwas are not absolutely binding unless institutionalized by an official authority. In the national context, DSN-MUI fatwas attain functional binding power as they are used as references in regulatory frameworks by Bank Indonesia, the Financial Services Authority (OJK), and Islamic financial institutions. Although these fatwas do not possess formal legal authority within the hierarchy of national legislation, they have become part of the living law that is internalized in national economic legal practices. Therefore, normative reinforcement is needed through explicit recognition in sectoral regulations to prevent legal vacuums. This study recommends the codification of DSN-MUI fatwas into derivative regulations to enhance their juridical legitimacy in supporting a just and legally certain Islamic economic legal system.

Abstract

This study explores university students' perceptions of the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in evaluating discussion activities within Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). Using a quantitative cross-sectional survey, data were collected from 112 undergraduate students who had participated in AI-assisted discussion forums across four MOOCs. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze students' perceptions of MOOCs and AI-assisted evaluation, followed by inferential tests to examine differences across demographic variables. Findings indicate that students hold generally positive perceptions of MOOCs, particularly regarding their flexibility, ease of use, and structured learning design. Students also evaluated discussion forums as relevant, understandable, and motivating. Although students showed moderate acceptance of AI involvement in evaluation, ethical concerns remained evident. Inferential analysis showed no significant differences in perceptions across most demographic variables, with the exception of employment status, which influenced perceptions of AI-assisted evaluation. The study highlights the need for ethical, transparent, and pedagogically aligned implementation of AI in online learning assessment

Abstract

Application of Sociodrama Techniques Based on Tabe Culture to Improve Polite Character. This study aims to describe the character of students' politeness, the implementation of group guidance services with sociodrama techniques based on tabe culture , and the effect of its application on improving politeness. Tabe culture is a form of politeness typical of the Bugis-Makassar community which is manifested through the expression "tabe" and hand gestures as a sign of respect, permission, and appreciation, which contains the values of sipakatau, sipakalebbi , and sipakainge . The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design of the non-equivalent control group pretest–posttest type . The sample consisted of 18 students selected through purposive sampling , 9 students each in the experimental and control groups. Data were obtained through questionnaires and observations, then analyzed using descriptive statistics and independent sample t-test . The results showed that before the treatment, students were in the medium and low categories, characterized by behaviors such as mocking, indifference, and lack of respect for teachers and friends. The t-test showed a significance of 0.001 (<0.05), so that sociodrama based on tabe culture had a significant effect in improving students' respectful attitudes, polite language, and social behavior. Keywords: Character of good manners; Sociodrama Technique; Tabe Culture ; Group Guidance.
