Abstract

This study aims to develop instructional media for maharah kalam using the Plotagon application based on the Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning (CTML) and to analyze its effectiveness in improving elementary school students’ Arabic speaking skills. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate) with a mixed-methods approach. The sample consisted of 24 Grade IV C students at SD Muhammadiyah 18 Palembang. Data were collected through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and tests. The results of expert validation showed that the developed media achieved a validity score of 88–90% from material experts and 87–91% from media experts, categorized as very valid. The effectiveness test indicated an improvement in students’ speaking skills, with the average pretest score of 62.5 increasing to 81.3 in the posttest. The N-Gain value reached 59.63%, which falls into the moderate (quite effective) category. Furthermore, the use of Plotagon-based media positively influenced students’ learning activities and motivation, as approximately 85% of students became more active and 80% showed increased confidence in practicing Arabic dialogues. In conclusion, the CTML-based Plotagon instructional media is feasible and effective in improving students’ Arabic speaking skills and creating a more engaging and communicative learning experience.

Abstract

This study aims to develop qirā’ah material using Blooket media based on a humanistic approach for eighth-grade students of Ar-Risalah Junior High School, Lubuk Linggau, and to test its effectiveness in Arabic language learning. The background of this study is based on students' low understanding of Arabic reading texts due to the use of less interactive learning materials and media and a learning approach that is still teacher-oriented. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model which includes stages, design analysis, development, implementation, and evaluation. The product developed is qirā’ah material in the form of an educational game on the Blooket platform designed based on humanistic learning principles. The research subjects were eighth-grade students of Ar-Risalah Junior High School, Lubuk Linggau. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The results showed that the qirā’ah material based on Blooket media was declared valid and suitable for use based on the assessment of material experts and media experts. In addition, the use of humanistic-based Blooket media was proven effective in improving students' reading comprehension, learning motivation, and active participation in Arabic language learning. Thus, the development of qirā’ah material using humanistic-based Blooket media can be an innovative alternative in Arabic language learning at the junior high school level

Abstract

This research is motivated by the gap between the potential of interactive media and the reality of qiro'ah instruction in Islamic elementary schools, which remains conventional and lacks holistic integration of constructivist approaches into digital teaching materials. The novelty of this study lies in combining the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach  grounded in constructivism with Lectora Inspire software to develop qiro'ah instructional materials for madrasah ibtidaiyah. This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of these materials. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) adapting six stages of the Borg and Gall model, with 25 fifth-grade students of MI Assalam Lahat as the research subjects. Validation results from content experts (96%) and media experts (88%) indicated that the product was highly valid. Field trials demonstrated a significant improvement in learning outcomes, with an average N-Gain score in the medium category and very positive student responses

Abstract

Arabic language learning, particularly qirā’ah skills, still faces challenges related to the limited availability of teaching materials that are contextual, engaging, and relevant to students’ lives. Generic qirā’ah materials with limited local cultural content tend to reduce learning interest and make it difficult for students to understand reading texts. This study aimed to develop qirā’ah materials based on Palembang folktales using the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) approach and to test their feasibility and effectiveness in Arabic language learning. This study used a Research and Development (R&D) method by adapting the Borg and Gall model, which was simplified into seven stages, namely needs analysis, planning, product development, expert validation, revision, limited trial, and product refinement. The research subjects were seventh-grade students of MTsN 1 Palembang. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, questionnaires, and qirā’ah comprehension tests. The results showed that the developed qirā’ah materials were considered highly feasible based on assessments by material, language, and media experts. Students’ responses to the teaching materials were also in the very good category in terms of comprehensibility, attractiveness, and practicality. In addition, the use of qirā’ah materials based on Palembang folktales with the TPACK approach was proven effective in improving students’ literal and inferential reading comprehension. The conclusion of this study confirms that the development of qirā’ah materials based on local wisdom and integrated with the TPACK approach can serve as an innovative alternative to improve the quality of Arabic language learning in madrasahs.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a basic Nahwu Science textbook based on blended learning and measure its effectiveness in improving the understanding of grade VIII students at Prof. Muhajirin Applied Islamic Junior High School Palembang. The method used is a mix-method with the Design and Development (R&D) of the ADDIE model. Qualitative data was obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation, while quantitative data was obtained through pretest and posttest tests of 25 students. The results showed that the textbooks developed were very feasible to use (validation of material experts 89%, validation of media experts 85%) and practical according to teachers (88%) and students (82%). The average pretest score of 56.8 increased to 81.2 in the posttest, with an N-Gain value of 0.67 (moderate category close to high). This textbook effectively improves student understanding through visual, contextual, and online and offline practice support. These findings strengthen the relevance of the use of blended learning in learning Nahwu Science at the junior high school level.
