Abstract

This article examines conflict management strategies as an effort to improve the quality of Islamic educational institutions. Conflict is an inevitable phenomenon in every organization, including Islamic educational institutions that have complex institutional dynamics. Unmanaged conflict has the potential to hinder educational goal achievement, deteriorate work climate, and weaken service quality. Conversely, strategically and constructively managed conflict can serve as a catalyst for innovation, strengthen organizational cohesion, and drive continuous quality improvement. Using a library research approach with critical analysis of recent academic literature from Indonesian and international journals as well as foundational texts, this article examines: (1) the concept and typology of conflict in Islamic educational institutions; (2) relevant conflict management models and strategies; (3) the relationship between effective conflict management and institutional quality improvement; and (4) recommendations for implementing conflict management strategies in the Islamic education context. The findings indicate that integrative conflict management strategies—which combine collaborative approaches, Islamic value-based mediation, and transformational leadership—prove most effective in converting conflict from a barrier into positive energy for quality improvement in Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

This article examines the dialectical relationship between the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and human critical thinking capacity in the era of digital transformation. AI, evolving at an exponential pace, has fundamentally altered how humans process information, make decisions, and construct knowledge. On one hand, AI offers an acceleration of human cognitive capacity through intellectual augmentation; on the other, excessive dependence on AI poses serious risks to independent, reflective, and critical thinking. Using a library research approach with critical analysis of recent academic sources and foundational texts, this article examines four main dimensions: (1) AI's impact on human cognitive architecture; (2) the relationship between AI use and critical thinking development; (3) critical education perspectives on AI's cognitive threats; and (4) recommendations for building a balance between AI utilization and the preservation of critical thinking capacity. The findings indicate that AI has the potential to be an extraordinary instrument of intellectual progress as well as a latent threat to human cognitive autonomy, depending on whether humans position themselves as passive users or as critical and reflective agents.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategic planning of Islamic education management, describe its implementation in shaping students' akhlakul karimah character, and identify its supporting and inhibiting factors at the primary education level in Muhammadiyah Elementary School. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation study. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, while data validity was ensured through source and method triangulation. The findings reveal three main conclusions: first, strategic planning is carried out participatively and adaptively with Islamic values as the philosophical foundation of all educational programs; second, strategy implementation is conducted through teacher role modeling (uswah hasanah), structured daily habituation, and character value integration in formal learning supported by akhlakul karimah-oriented academic supervision; third, implementation success is sustained by leadership commitment, teacher professionalism, and parental involvement, while negative external environmental influences and inconsistent family support remain the primary inhibiting factors. This study contributes to the development of a holistic and integrative Islamic education management model oriented toward nurturing a generation of Muslims with noble character in the contemporary era

Abstract

The era of digital disruption has brought fundamental changes to the management of Islamic educational institutions. Globalization, digitalization, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) present both opportunities and serious threats to the fundamental Islamic values embedded in educational practice. This article examines Maqashid Sharia as a strategic framework for Islamic education management in responding to the challenges of the digital disruption era. Using a qualitative library research method, this article analyzes the five dimensions of Maqashid Sharia — hifz al-din, hifz al-nafs, hifz al-'aql, hifz al-nasl, and hifz al-mal — as normative and operational foundations for comprehensive Islamic educational resource management. The findings indicate that the Maqashid Sharia framework provides holistic guidance in formulating digital-based curriculum policies, developing educator competencies in the AI era, adaptive institutional governance, and protecting Islamic identity and values amid globalization. This article proposes a three-level implementation model — macro, meso, micro — as practical guidance for Islamic educational institution managers in conducting digital transformation rooted in Islamic principles.

Abstract

Teacher character development management in Islamic elementary schools is a critical yet underexplored area, particularly within organizationally affiliated institutions such as SD Al Qur'an Wahdah Islamiyah Tenggarong, East Kalimantan. This qualitative case study investigates the mechanisms of teacher character development grounded in Wahdah Islamiyah's core values, its implications for Al-Qur'an learning quality, and its alignment with the Kutai Kartanegara Regency Government's flagship program, Gerakan Etam Mengaji (GEMA), which is mandated through Peraturan Daerah No. 4 Tahun 2021. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with the principal (Muhammad Rahman, S.Pd), vice principals, and eight classroom teachers, supplemented by classroom observation and document analysis conducted from January to March 2025. Findings reveal that the school implements a structured weekly halaqah tarbiyah every Friday, consisting of: (1) collective Al-Qur'an recitation (tilawah), (2) memorization deposit (setoran hafalan), (3) Islamic study led by gender-segregated murabbi/murabbiyah, and (4) an open sharing session. This system demonstrates a significant convergence with GEMA's objectives of building a Qur'anic community culture across all institutional levels in Kutai Kartanegara. The study finds that the school's halaqah system predates and exceeds GEMA's minimum standards, positioning it as a model of organic institutional alignment with regional religious development policy. Student achievements in azan, tahfizh, tilawah, and Islamic quiz competitions further validate the model's effectiveness. The study proposes the 'Jumat Tarbiyah Character Model' (JTCM) as a replicable framework.

Abstract

The implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is a strategic instrument for strengthening the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) in Islamic educational institutions. This study aims to examine the urgency of SOPs, the mechanism for their development, and the main obstacles to their implementation in quality assurance practices. The study used library research with a qualitative descriptive analytical approach. Data were collected through documentation of books, regulations, and relevant scientific literature, then analyzed using content analysis through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that SOPs help translate institutional quality policies into measurable, consistent, and accountable operational procedures. SOPs also support the quality assurance cycle through standard setting, implementation, evaluation, control, and continuous improvement. The main obstacles include organizational resistance, limited managerial literacy, limited digital infrastructure, and weak coordination among institutional units. These obstacles can be addressed through participatory SOP development, transformational leadership, staff training, digitalization of SOP documents, periodic internal quality audits, and a reward system for compliant work units. Therefore, SOPs should not be treated only as administrative documents, but as practical instruments for building sustainable quality culture in Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

Education is an important part of life because through education, individuals can develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed in everyday life. However, the quality of education is not only determined by the learning process in the classroom but is also influenced by how educational management is implemented in schools. This study aims to examine the role of educational management in achieving quality schools and to identify strategies that can be used to improve the quality of education. The method used in this study is a literature review, which involves collecting and analyzing various sources such as books, journals, and previous research relevant to the topic. The collected data are then analyzed by understanding, comparing, and organizing information from different sources into a coherent whole. The results show that educational management plays an important role in managing teachers, students, and the curriculum so that the learning process can run effectively. In addition, strategies such as supervision, training, evaluation, and communication also have a significant influence on improving the quality of education. If these management practices and strategies are implemented properly, school activities can run in a more organized way, the learning environment becomes more conducive, and the quality of education can gradually improve.

Abstract

Transformasi digital dalam dunia pendidikan mendorong perlunya inovasi dalam layanan bimbingan dan konseling (BK) untuk menjawab tantangan kesejahteraan psikologis siswa di era modern. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji strategi manajemen inovasi layanan BK berbasis aplikasi mobile sebagai pendekatan sistemik dalam meningkatkan aksesibilitas, efektivitas, dan keberlanjutan dukungan psikologis di lingkungan sekolah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dan analisis kualitatif deskriptif terhadap model manajemen inovasi, desain teknologi edukatif, serta pendekatan psikologis berbasis digital. Data dikumpulkan melalui telaah pustaka dari jurnal nasional dan internasional yang relevan, serta observasi terhadap implementasi aplikasi BK di beberapa institusi pendidikan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi teknologi mobile dalam layanan BK berpotensi memperkuat resiliensi siswa, menurunkan tingkat stres akademik, dan meningkatkan kualitas hubungan sosial. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pengembangan aplikasi BK yang kontekstual, kolaboratif, dan berkelanjutan sebagai bagian dari kebijakan pendidikan berbasis kesejahteraan psikologis.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan manajemen berbasis Artificial Intelligence (AI) dalam meningkatkan efektivitas sistem evaluasi pembelajaran di sekolah menengah. Menggunakan pendekatan library research, penelitian ini menelaah berbagai literatur terkait konsep manajemen pendidikan, prinsip manajemen berbasis AI, serta implementasi AI dalam evaluasi pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa AI berperan signifikan dalam otomatisasi proses penilaian, analisis data belajar siswa secara real-time, dan penyediaan umpan balik yang cepat serta akurat. Selain itu, AI mendukung personalisasi evaluasi melalui instrumen penilaian adaptif yang mampu menyesuaikan tingkat kesulitan sesuai kemampuan siswa. Namun, penerapan AI menghadapi tantangan seperti kurangnya kompetensi digital guru, keterbatasan infrastruktur teknologi, serta isu privasi dan keamanan data siswa. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa integrasi AI dalam manajemen evaluasi pembelajaran memberikan peluang besar untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran, sepanjang sekolah mampu mengatasi hambatan implementatif yang menyertainya.
