Abstract

The aim of the research was to determine the chemical properties of the soil in the rice fields of the Semangga district. The research method used is survey method. This research was conducted in 3 villages in the Semangga district which had rice fields. Soil sampling was carried out in a composite manner by taking soil samples at a depth of 0-25 cm. Soil samples were analyzed at the Bogor Environmental Biotechnology Laboratory. Based on the analysis results obtained data on soil chemical properties pH, C-organic, and cation exchange capacity (CEC). Based on the research results, the pH value was obtained from neutral to acid. The neutral pH value was found at location A, which was 7.61, at location B, the pH value was 4.42, and at location C, the pH value was 4.75. C-organic from the results of research at 3 locations is classified as moderate to high. At location A the soil organic matter value was 1.19, at location B the soil organic C value was 6.30 and at C location the soil organic C value was 4.11. Cation exchange capacity (CEC) at the study site was classified as moderate to high. At location A it has a cation exchange capacity value of 21.46 cmol/kg, at location B it has a cation exchange capacity value of 30.00, and at location C it has a cation exchange capacity value of 29.12.

Abstract

Gulma merupakan tumbuhan yang tidak dikehendaki keberadaanya dalam sistem  budidaya tanaman. Keberadaan gulma pada tanaman budidaya dapat menurunkan produksi tanaman secara signifikan jika melewati periode kritisnya. Setiap gulma memiliki pengaruh yang berbeda pada setiap tanaman termasuk tanaman jagung dan memiliki keanekaragaman gulma yang berbeda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi gulma yang tumbuh pada lahan budidaya tanaman jagung. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kampung Kuper Distrik Semangga Kabupaten Merauke dengan menggunakan metode pendekatan kuantitafif dan kualitatif.  Metode kuantitatif digunakan untuk menghitung jumlah jenis dan kerapatan gulma, sedangkan metode kualitatif digunakan untuk mendeskripsikan morfologi akar, nama lokal dan famili gulma. Gulma yang ditemukan di identifikasi dan jumlah gulma yang diperoleh dihitung berdasarkan jenis gulma, kerapatan mutlak, dan kerapatan nisbi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif dan ditabulasi sederhana untuk jenis gulma yang tumbuh pada tanaman jagung.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gulma yang ditemukan pada lahan budidaya tanaman jagung sebanyak 13 jenis dengan kerapatan tertinggi diperoleh pada gulma Digitaria ischaemum dibandingkan jenis gulma lainnya.

Abstract

Hama dan penyakit tanaman merupakan faktor pembatas dalam budidaya tanaman untuk mencapai produksi yang optimal. Hama dan penyakit tanaman dapat dikendalikan menggunakan pestisida yang berbahan dasar tanaman atau disebut dengan pestisida nabati. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi tumbuhan yang berpotensi sebagai pestisida nabati di Kampung Kuper Distrik Semangga. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi serta determinasi berdasarkan studi pustaka. Data hasil pengamatan akan  dianalisis secara deskriptif dengan menjelaskan hasil observasi tanaman yang berpotensi sebagai pestisida nabati berdasarkan studi literatur. Tumbuhan yang didokumentasikan dilengkapi dengan nama ilmiah (botani), nama lokal, famili, genus, spesies, bagian tanaman yang dimanfaatkan sebagai pestisida nabati dan habitatnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 14 jenis tumbuhan ditemukan yang berpotensi sebagai pestisida nabati. Tumbuhan yang ditemukan yaitu kelor, maja, beluntas, serai, kirinyuh, srikaya, sirsak, pinang, sirih, jeruk, jahe, lengkuas, jeruk nipis, dan pepaya. Berdasarkan studi literatur secara umum tanaman yang ditemukan di Kampung Kuper mengandung flavonoid, terpenoid, alkaloid dan saponin. Senyawa-senyawa ini berperan sebagai insektisida, anti bakteri dan jamur yang dapat mengendalikan hama dan penyakit pada tanaman budidaya.

Abstract

Merauke Regency is an area where most of the people work as farmers. Rice commodity is the most widely cultivated commodity by farmers besides vegetables and fruits. Farmers' cultivation practices are still using inorganic/chemical fertilizers to meet nutrient needs. The very high demand for inorganic fertilizers is not followed by their timely availability whenever needed, besides that the market price is quite expensive so that production costs increase. This encourages the use of crop residues in the form of husks as raw material for making compost and livestock manure. Burning rice husks produces husk charcoal containing various nutrients as well as cow dung. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide training on making compost from a mixture of charcoal husks, bran, cow dung and EM-4 to farming communities, village officials, Gapoktan, high school and agricultural vocational high school students. This activity was carried out in stages starting from field observations, provision of materials, training/practice on making compost in Anumbob Village, monitoring and teaching how to pack, label and apply compost to the soil. The combination of rice husk charcoal and cow dung as raw material for compost is able to maintain soil moisture and provide nutrients, improve soil conditions on land with low availability of nutrients and water. In addition, we hope that with this training, agricultural waste that was previously not used can have added value, especially by turning it into compost which is useful for reducing agricultural waste, fertility of agricultural land, and ensuring the sustainability of agriculture in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the production performance of broiler chickens supplemented with fermented water hyacinth meal in their feed and determine the optimal treatment for incorporating fermented water hyacinth meal in broiler chicken diets. The research utilized a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments, each consisting of five replications, totaling 20 experimental units, and each replication consisting of five chickens. The treatments included: P0 = ration without the addition of fermented water hyacinth meal 0%, P1 = ration + 1.5% fermented water hyacinth meal, P2 = ration + 3% fermented water hyacinth meal, P3 = ration + 4.5% fermented water hyacinth meal. The observed parameters included feed consumption, body weight gain, and feed conversion. Based on the research results, the addition of fermented water hyacinth meal had a non-significant effect (P>0.05) on feed consumption, body weight gain, and feed conversion. It can be concluded that the addition of fermented water hyacinth meal (1.5-4.5%) has a positive impact on the production performance of broiler chickens.

Abstract

Bakso merupakan makanan khas Indonesia yang banyak digemari Masyarakat. Bahan tambahan bakso dapat berupa daging dan ikan. Salah satu pengolahan bakso sagu yang didampingi kepada Masyarakat lokal adalah ikan gastor, karena ikan gastor merupakan ikan rawa yang banyak d temui di Kabupaten Merauke khususnya Kampung Zanegi, Kampung Tambat dan Kampung Kaliki. Dengan adanya pendampingan ini, Masyarakat yang ada di ketiga kampung tersebut dapat mengaplikasikannya untuk menambah pendapatan keluarga karena bahan-bahan yang digunakan banyak tersedia di Kampung tersebut.

Abstract

This village development program aims to increase the knowledge and skills of breeders in optimizing the utilization of the economic potential of goat livestock production in the Anggoeya Village, Poasia District, Kendari City. The implementation of the village development program uses a participatory method through several stages of activity, namely program socialization and FGD, demonstration of forage planting plots for livestock, feed processing, and composting using goat manure. The results of the implementation of the village development program show that goat breeders are very enthusiastic about participating in all stages of the activity and can feel the benefits of this community service program in the form of additional goat husbandry knowledge and technology. Goat farmers now have forage gardens using quality Odot grass seeds as a solution for providing the sustainable feed. In addition, goat breeders can provide goat feed by making silage using agricultural waste such as banana cobs and straw from other plants. Goat farmers can also produce compost using good quality goat manure which is useful for fertilizing forage crops, developed and or sold as a supplement to their income.

Abstract

ABSTRAKFungi mikoriza arbuskula (FMA) sangat berperan dalam memacu pertumbuhan hijauan tanaman pakan ternak. Hijauan tanaman pakan khususnya rumput dan leguminosa.  FMA telah banyak diteliti dan teridentifikasi berbagai jenisnya pada rizhosfer tanaman leguminosa jenis pohon. Jenis FMA belum diketahui pada tanaman hijauan pakan ternak khususnya rumput gajah yang tumbuh di Sulawesi Tenggara, oleh karena itu sangatlah penting dilakukan penelitian mengenai identifikasi FMA pada tanaman rumput gajah. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis fungi mikoriza arbuskula pada rizhofer rumput gajah.  Sampel tanah dan sampel akar rumput gajah diambil masing-masing sebanyak 500g.  Analisis sampel tanah untuk mengidentifikasi FMA dilakukan di pusat Penelitian Biologi LIPI Bogor.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada rizhosfer rumput gajah ditemukan 5 jenis fungi mikoriza arbuskula dari 3 genus (Glomus, gigaspora dan acalauspora) yaitu Glomus sp (1 spora), gigaspora sp (57 spora), giga spora gregaria N.C. Schenck & T.H. Nicolson (48 spora), Acaulospora tuberculata Janos & Trappe (12 Spora) dan Acaulospora scrobiculata Trappe (2 spora). Jenis FMA terjadi kolonisasi pada rizhosfer rumput gajah, ditandai dengan ditemukannya struktur FMA. Struktur FMA yang ditemukan pada akar rumput gajah adalah hifa internal dan hifa eksternal.  Persentae kolonisasi FMA pada akar rumput gajah berkisar 47-88% dengan rata-rata 72,93%.Kata kunci: mikoriza, rumput gajah, pennisetum, glomus Identification of Arbuscular Mycorrhiza Fungi in the Rhizosphere of Elephant Grass (Pennistum purpureum)ABSTRACTArbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) plays a role forage growth of animal feed crops. Forage feed plants, especially grass and Leguminosae. AMF has been widely studied and identified in various types in the rhizosphere of legume tree plants. The type AMF is not widely known in forage animal feed, especially elephant grass that grows in Southeast Sulawesi, therefore it is very important to research the identification of AMF in elephant grass plants.  The study aims to identify the arbuscular mycorrhiza fungi in the elephant grass rhizosphere. Samples of rhizosphere soil and elephant grassroots samples were taken by as much as 500g each. Analysis of soil samples to identify AMF was conducted at LIPI Bogor Biological Research Centre. The results showed in the rhizosphere elephant grass found 5 types of AMF from 3 genera (glomus, gigaspora, and acalauspora) namely glomus sp. (1 spora), gigaspora sp. (57 spora), gigaspora gregaria N.C. Schenk & T.H Nicolson (48 spora), acaulospora tuberculata Janos & Trappe (12 spora), and acaulospora scrobiculata Trappe (2 spora). Colonization has occurred in the rhizosphere of elephant grass, characterized by the discovery of AMF structures. The AMF structures found at elephant grassroots are internal hyphae and external hyphae. Abstract

ABSTRAKRumput mulato tumbuh subur pada lahan-lahan marginal, tanah yang unsur hara sangat rendah. Kemampuan rumput mulato tumbuh dengan subur pada lahan tersebut menandakan adanya unsur lain yang bersimbiosis dengannya.  Kemungkinan yang menyebabkan rumput mulato tumbuh dengan baik adalah keberadaan mikoriza yang mengkoloni akar atau yang berada pada rhizosfer. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengekspolorasi dan mengidentifikasi jenis fungi mikoriza arbuskula pada rhizosfer rumput mulato.  Sampel tanah dan akar rumpu mulato diambil dilahan laboratorium lapangan Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Halu Oleo. Analisis sampel tanah untuk mengekspolorasi dan mengidentifikasi jenis fungi mikoriza arbuskula dilakukan di pusat  penelitian Biologi LIPI Bogor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada rhizozfer rumput mulato ditemukan 5 jenis FMA yang berasal dari 3 genus mikoriza misalnya glomus sp, gigaspora sp, dan acaulospora sp. Jenis glomus sp ditemukan sejumlah 7 spora, giga spora gregaria ditemukan sejumlah 1 spora. Sedangkan jenis gigaspora gregaria N.C. Schenck dan T.H. Nicolson ditemukan sejumlah 13 spora. Acaulospora tuberculata Janos dan Trappe diemukan sejumlah 4 spora, sedangkan acaulospora scrobiculata Trappe ditemukan sejumlah 1 spora. Pada rhizosfer rumput mulato terjadi kolonisasi mikoriza karena ditandai dengan adanya struktur FMA.  Struktur FMA yang ditemukan adalah hifa eksternal, hifa internal, vesikula dan arbuskula.  Persentase kolonisasi FMA pada akar rumput mulato yakni 49-88% atau rata-rata sekitar 72,87%.Kata Kunci: Mikoriza arbuskula, glomus, Brachiaria hybrid cv. The ability of mulato grass to thrive on the land indicates the presence of other elements that symbiosis with it.  The possibility that causes mulato grass to grow will is the presence of mycorrhizal that colonizes the roots or that resides in the rhizosphere.  The study aimed to explore and identify the type of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in the rhizosphere of mulato grass.  Soils and roots samples mulato grass were taken at the field laboratory of the Faculty of Animal Science, Halu Oleo University.  Analysis of soil samples to expolore and identify the type of arbuscular mycorrhiza fungi was conducted Biology research center LIPI, Bogor. The results showed that in rhizosphere mulato grass 5 types were found of AMF derived genera three of mycorrhizal such as glomus sp, gigaspora sp and acaulospora sp. The glomus sp types found 7 spores number.  Gigaspores gregaria found 1 spores number. The gigaspores gregaria N.C Schenck and T.H. Nicolson found 13 spores number. The acaulospora tuberculata Janis and Trappe found 4 spores number.  While acaulospora scrobiculata Trappe found 1 spores number.
