Abstract

Abstract

A handout is a written instructional material organized in a concise and systematic manner to assist students in understanding learning content. The use of flipbook-based science handouts can enhance Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) because the visual presentation of the material and flexible navigation enables students to explore science concepts in depth, connect SDGs-based theories with local wisdom phenomena, and increase active engagement as well as independent learning. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, which consists of the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research technique used purposive sampling with a sample of 30 PGSD students at Universitas Serambi Mekkah. Data collection instruments included expert validation sheets, response questionnaires, and HOTS tests in the form of pretests and posttests. The results showed that the average pretest score was 71 and increased to 96 in the posttest. The improvement in students’ HOTS was indicated by an average N-Gain score of 0.86 and an N-Gain percentage of 86.05%, which falls into the high category. The practicality test results showed that both student and lecturer responses were categorized as very practical. Therefore, the flipbook-based science handout with an SDGs and local wisdom approach is valid, practical, and effective in improving the HOTS of PGSD students.

Abstract

This study aims to implement video-based science teaching materials to improve the learning outcomes of elementary school students. The research method used is a quantitative descriptive method. Science teaching materials combined with contextual learning videos to visualize abstract concepts provide a pleasant learning impression for students. Data were obtained through student response questionnaire sheets related to learning through the implementation of learning videos and learning outcome tests (pretest–posttest). The results showed that the science video teaching materials obtained a score with an implementation test and student response test obtained an average of 89% and the teacher's response as a learning observer was 89%, which means that the science learning videos are easy to use and interesting. From the effectiveness aspect, the increase in learning outcomes by getting an average pretest score of 68, posttest 84, resulting in an N-gain of 0.50. This proves that video-based science teaching materials are effective in improving the learning outcomes of elementary school students with science lessons.

Abstract

This study aims to review the implementation of improving teacher pedagogical competence at SD Negeri 2 Seunagan, Nagan Raya Regency. Pedagogical competence is an important ability that must be possessed by every teacher in designing, implementing, and evaluating learning. Based on the results of observations there are teachers who teach using conventional methods. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The research informants consisted of five subject teachers. The results of the study indicate that training and support from the principal have a positive impact on improving teacher pedagogical competence, which includes student understanding, curriculum development, designing and implementing educational learning, and evaluating learning outcomes. This finding confirms that the role of teachers provides direct changes to thinking patterns and improving student learning outcomes. Strategic techniques are needed to improve the quality of the learning process in schools through training activities for teachers according to curriculum needs. This study is expected to be a reference for teachers to continue to improve their pedagogical quality through training, active cooperation in schools and character in developing themselves with the quality of learning as professional teachers.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes through animation-based learning videos with a deep learning approach. Conventional teaching methods are less effective for science lessons, resulting in less engagement and achievement of student learning outcomes. The integration of deep learning implemented through animated videos has an impact on teacher success in learning through visualization, adaptive, automatic narration, and intelligent synchronization, making lessons interactive. This study uses the ADDIE model development method. Data collection is based on expert validation, teacher and student responses, and pretest posttest tests. The results show that the level of student learning success through animated videos meets very good feasibility standards, with an average score of 92% for media experts and 89% for material experts. Student responses increased by an average of 91%. Animated videos in the implementation process are very effective with a score from the pretest results of 68.3 to the posttest increasing to 86.7 with an N-Gain score of 0.58 in the moderate category. Based on learning outcomes during the implementation process, animated videos for science lessons are feasible and interesting, but also effective in improving student learning outcomes, offering innovative digital resources to support meaningful science education
