Abstract

The Society 5.0 agenda has accelerated the demand for digitally competent teachers, including in Indonesian madrasahs where professional development must also safeguard Islamic educational values. This study develops a conceptual model for transforming madrasah teachers’ digital literacy through hybrid learning and positions the model as a practical contribution to SDG 4 (Quality Education), particularly target 4.c on qualified teachers. Using a systematic literature review and qualitative content analysis, the study synthesizes research on digital literacy, teacher professional development, and hybrid learning in Islamic and general education settings. The findings indicate that effective transformation requires (1) staged capacity building (basic digital skills to advanced media design), (2) pedagogical integration (TPACK-aligned lesson planning for synchronous and asynchronous modes), (3) institutional support (leadership, infrastructure, and policy), and (4) continuous mentoring and evaluation. The proposed model emphasizes iterative training, classroom implementation, reflective coaching, and community-of-practice support to reduce technology resistance and improve instructional quality. This conceptual contribution offers guidance for madrasah leaders and policymakers to design scalable hybrid professional development programs that strengthen teachers’ digital literacy while enhancing equitable access to meaningful learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how the application of the Talaqqi method improves memorization at the Putra Roudhotul Tahfidzil Qur'an Islamic Boarding School. This study uses qualitative research and a case study approach. Data collection using observation, interviews, and documentation. Interviews were conducted with 5 informants. Data analysis techniques are done through data reduction, data presentation, then concluding. Checking the validity of the data is done by extending observation, continuous observation, and triangulation. The results of this study include; 1) Learning the Qur'an at the Roudhotul Tahfidzul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School uses the Talaqqi method, technically the students deposit their memorization to the ustadz ba'da maghrib, then the ustadz reads the maqro` memorization that will be memorized by the students and the students listen well, then the students read the maqro` that the ustadz has read bin nadhor. 2) Roudhotul Putra Islamic Boarding School's efforts to maintain the tradition of mutqin Qur'an memorization by forming a Qur'an learning management consisting of Pre tahfidz, and Tahfidz. The evaluation of learning, namely Tasmi`, and the Pre Tahfidz and Tahfidz Exams are held every semester. In dealing with obstacles when students experience broken memories, Roudhotul Tahfidzil Qur`an Putra Islamic Boarding School provides solutions through individual management from ustadz. 3) Students can target memorization achievements; students are accustomed to consistency in murojaah so maintaining the quality of student memorization is prioritized over the quantity of memorization in a period of time.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies of tahfidz teachers for overcoming challenges in memorizing the Qur’an at the Sunan Bonang Tahfidz Female Dormitory, Pesantren Mamba'ul Ma'arif, Denanyar, Jombang. Highlighting external challenges can deepen empathy for santri struggles (student in pesantren) and the importance of effective strategies. The research method used was a case study with a qualitative approach, involving observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The results indicate that the tahfidz learning process at this pesantren is carried out in stages, starting from bi an-nadhor (reading by looking at the Mushaf), maqbul (memorizing the 30th juz and certain surah), and bi al-ghoib (memorizing without looking at the Mushaf). The results of this discussion indicate that applying the Pomodoro technique, combined with the Stepwise Learning theory and the Nine Events of Instruction by Robert Gagné, has proven effective in improving the quality, focus, and sustainability of the Qur'an memorization process at the Pesantren Sunan Bonang. This method provides a systematic, gradual, and mastery-oriented learning structure, while strengthening the processes of ziyadah, mura’jaah, and tasmi' through appropriate time management, repetition, and feedback.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of implementing the cooperative learning model, specifically the Jigsaw technique, on students’ conceptual understanding in the Aswaja subject. The background of this research stems from the need for more interactive and collaborative learning methods to address the challenges of conventional Aswaja instruction, which tends to be textual and lacks student engagement. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group. The research subjects consisted of 32 tenth-grade students at MA Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Jombang, divided into an experimental group (Jigsaw method) and a control group (conventional lecture method). Data were collected using pretest-posttest instruments and a Jigsaw implementation questionnaire. The results of data analysis showed a significant difference in conceptual skill between students taught using the Jigsaw method and those taught with conventional methods, with a significance value of 0,025 (< 0,05) based on the independent sample t-test. Additionally, a positive relationship was found between the implementation of the Jigsaw method and students’ conceptual abil, as indicated by a Pearson correlation significance of 0,032 and a correlation coefficient of 0,554 (moderate category). It is concluded that the cooperative learning model using the Jigsaw technique is effective in enhancing students’ conceptual skill.

Abstract

Studies of the novel Hati Suhita have thus far focused primarily on themes of women, pesantren life, and Islamic character education, whereas analyses based on Imam Al-Ghazali’s educational thought, particularly concerning patience (sabr), intention (niyyah), and sincerity (ikhlas), remain limited. This study aims to analyze the representation of Islamic educational values in the form of patience, intention, and sincerity in Khilma Anis’s novel Hati Suhita from the perspective of Imam Al-Ghazali. The study employed a qualitative approach with a library research design. The primary data source was the novel Hati Suhita, while Ihya’ ‘Ulum al-Din was used as the principal theoretical foundation. The data were analyzed qualitatively by identifying and interpreting the representations of these three values in the novel. The findings indicate that Hati Suhita represents Islamic education as a process of moral and spiritual formation rather than merely the transmission of religious knowledge. Patience is portrayed through the ability to control one’s desires, manage emotions, and maintain steadfastness in facing life’s trials. Intention functions as an inner orientation that determines the moral and spiritual value of an action, while sincerity is represented as a process of purifying the heart from ego and worldly interests that leads individuals toward spiritual maturity. These three values are interconnected and form a comprehensive framework of Islamic education through character strengthening, self-discipline, and spiritual refinement in accordance with Imam Al-Ghazali’s thought. The findings of this study broaden the scope of Islamic education studies by affirming the role of literary works as a medium for internalizing moral and spiritual values. Practically, this study supports the use of literary works in learning to strengthen character education based on Islamic values and opens opportunities for developing studies of Islamic educational thought in other literary works.

Abstract

Geographically, Asemgede Village, Ngusikan Subdistrict, Jombang Regency, is located at the northernmost part of Jombang, directly bordering Lamongan Regency. Asemgede is a relatively new subdistrict, formed by the division of Kudu Subdistrict, based on Jombang Regency Regulation No. 15 of 2000. The village consists of one hamlet, two RW, and four RT. It is situated in a forested area between Jombang and Lamongan. The majority of its residents are farmers, pandan mat weavers, and charcoal artisans. The farmers in Asemgede Village apply a seasonal planting pattern, cultivating rice during the first planting season (October to March) and corn and tobacco in the second season (March to August). This highlights the village's potential for natural resource development, including the use of corn waste as a raw material for producing bio-briquettes or other products. With its abundant natural resources, Asemgede Village has the opportunity to develop organic material processing activities into economically valuable products. One example is the production of dishwashing soap made from pandan leaves (Pandanus amaryllifolius), which contain natural compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, polyphenols, and saponins, the latter acting as a natural biosurfactant. Saponins in pandan leaves can produce effective foam for cleaning and possess antibacterial properties. Compared to commercial dishwashing soap, pandan-leaf-based soap offers significant advantages, particularly the use of natural ingredients that are safer for skin health, free of harmful chemicals like triethanolamine, triclosan, preservatives, parabens, and SLS surfactants. This community development initiative seeks to empower Asemgede residents by providing training in making dishwashing soap from pandan leaves. The training aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of the village community in processing organic materials into valuable products, thereby improving their economic welfare. The initiative also focuses on increasing women's participation, especially members of the village's Family Welfare Movement (PKK), enabling them to contribute to the community's economic development and fostering innovation
