Abstract

Kabupaten Bandung merupakan daerah dengan tingkat kerentanan tinggi terhadap bencana seperti banjir, longsor, dan gempa bumi. Kondisi ini menuntut peningkatan kapasitas guru PAUD dalam mengedukasi kesiapsiagaan bencana sejak dini. Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan meningkatkan kompetensi guru PAUD melalui pelatihan, pendampingan, dan pengembangan media pembelajaran tematik yang ramah anak. Kegiatan dilakukan secara partisipatif melalui lima tahapan: sosialisasi, pelatihan, penerapan teknologi edukatif, pendampingan, dan evaluasi. Sebanyak 30 guru PAUD di wilayah rawan bencana Kabupaten Bandung berpartisipasi aktif. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan, dengan rata-rata skor pengetahuan meningkat dari 48,5 menjadi 85,2 atau naik 75,7%. Selain peningkatan kognitif, kegiatan ini juga memperkuat efikasi diri guru dalam merancang pembelajaran tematik kebencanaan. Program ini menghasilkan Paket Inovatif Edukasi Kesiapsiagaan Bencana berupa modul interaktif dan media visual berbasis permainan yang menumbuhkan budaya keselamatan sejak usia dini.

Abstract

The use of the Balanced Scorecard method in performance measurement including determining teaching quality and customer value, allows assessment of financial aspects, customers, internal business processes, and learning and growth based on the goals that the organization has set. This measurement is based on the organization's stated goals, vision and mission. With the Balanced Scorecard, SMKN 2 Rangkasbitung obtained a comprehensive picture of its teaching quality and customer value, including the school's ability to fulfill the satisfaction of educational stakeholders. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach, with interview, observation and documentation techniques. Data analysis techniques recommended by Miles and Hubermen are data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing based on themes in the research. In the context of education, the Balance Scorecard serves as a guide to measuring and improving the performance of educational institutions comprehensively, and obtaining commitment from project participants and clarifying the framework for implementation and management that must be implemented after the preparation of the initial Balance Scorecad, as well as helping institutions to translate vision, mission into concrete actions through performance measurement from various perspectives and used to boost the organization's ability to multiply performance

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) play a crucial role in shaping students' character and academic excellence. However, many pesantren face challenges in maintaining and improving student quality due to outdated leadership approaches, lack of innovation, and limited resources. This study examines the implementation of transformational leadership in Islamic boarding schools as a strategy to enhance student quality. The research aims to analyze the impact of transformational leadership on students' academic performance, character development, and overall competency. This study employs a qualitative research approach with a case study methodology, involving interviews, observations, and document analysis in selected pesantren. School leaders, teachers, and students participated as key informants to provide a comprehensive understanding of how transformational leadership influences educational outcomes. The findings indicate that transformational leadership significantly contributes to improving student quality by fostering a positive learning environment, encouraging teacher innovation, and enhancing student motivation. Leaders who inspire, mentor, and involve students in decision-making processes contribute to better academic achievement and character formation. However, challenges such as resistance to change, inadequate leadership training, and structural constraints still hinder the full implementation of transformational leadership. Based on these findings, the study recommends continuous leadership training programs, the integration of modern educational strategies with traditional pesantren values, and increased collaboration between pesantren and external stakeholders to ensure sustainable quality improvement. Future research could explore the long-term impact of transformational leadership in different pesantren models and its adaptability to diverse educational settings.

Abstract

Rendahnya tingkat literasi siswa sekolah dasar di Indonesia menuntut adanya strategi manajerial yang lebih sistematis dan berbasis bukti. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi implementasi manajemen berbasis data (MBD) dalam meningkatkan mutu literasi di sekolah dasar. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus, melibatkan dua sekolah dasar negeri di Kota dan Kabupaten Bandung. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan studi dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model interaktif Miles, Huberman, dan Saldaña. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa MBD diterapkan secara komprehensif melalui tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengawasan, dan evaluasi. Perencanaan dilakukan berbasis data asesmen dan rapor pendidikan untuk merancang program literasi yang terukur dan relevan. Pelaksanaan program mengintegrasikan literasi ke dalam kurikulum melalui pendekatan tematik, numerasi, dan kegiatan membaca berbasis minat. Pengawasan dilakukan secara formatif dan kolaboratif, sementara evaluasi digunakan untuk refleksi dan perbaikan strategi secara berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa MBD mampu meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran literasi sekaligus memperkuat kapasitas kelembagaan sekolah dasar. Penerapan MBD yang berhasil ditopang oleh kepemimpinan instruksional kepala sekolah, literasi data guru, dan budaya kolaboratif. Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi penting bagi pengembangan kebijakan pendidikan berbasis data di tingkat dasar.

Abstract

The rapid integration of digital media in elementary education presents a paradox: while enhancing pedagogical delivery, it risks eroding local wisdom without systematic cultural intentionality. This study examines digital media management for local wisdom integration through the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) framework. Employing qualitative descriptive design, this research investigated practices at two purposively selected elementary schools in West Java, Indonesia. Data were collected through classroom observations (24 sessions), semi-structured interviews with principals and teachers (n=8), student interviews (n=12), and document analysis, then analyzed using Miles-Huberman procedures with source triangulation for trustworthiness. Findings reveal that while both schools successfully implement digital media with high student engagement (88%), local wisdom integration remains severely limited (8% of observed lessons). Analysis across PDCA phases demonstrates systematic gaps: planning lacks cultural grounding, implementation prioritizes generic content, evaluation focuses exclusively on academic outcomes while neglecting cultural dimensions, and follow-up emphasizes technical rather than culturally-responsive pedagogical development. Teachers demonstrate reasonable technical proficiency but lack conceptual frameworks for bridging technology and culture. Results indicate incomplete PDCA implementation characterized by "technology-first" rather than "purpose-first" planning, creating digital cultural displacement. The study contributes theoretically by introducing "cultural intentionality" as essential for effective digital media management and practically by demonstrating that infrastructure investment without culturally-informed pedagogical capacity building risks accelerating cultural homogenization. Future research should pursue longitudinal investigations and participatory approaches engaging communities in co-designing culturally-responsive digital resources.

Abstract

Discipline formation in elementary education faces challenges from inadequate instructional planning, limited parental involvement, and adverse socioeconomic conditions. This study examines the effectiveness of structured assignment management through the POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling) framework in cultivating disciplinary character among elementary students.  A qualitative case study was conducted at two elementary schools in West Jakarta involving school principals (n=2), teachers (n=8), and students (n=24). Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, systematic observations, and documentary analysis, then analyzed inductively with triangulation procedures to ensure credibility. Findings revealed significant implementation variations between schools. Comprehensive POAC application—characterized by systematic planning, coordinated organization, consistent execution, and rigorous evaluation—effectively enhanced student discipline, manifested through improved assignment completion rates, punctuality, and rule compliance. Conversely, partial implementation yielded suboptimal outcomes. Unexpectedly, institutional support mechanisms partially compensated for socioeconomic disadvantages when systematically delivered.  Structured assignment management operationalized through POAC constitutes an effective strategy for disciplinary character development, with implementation fidelity determining intervention success. Findings contribute empirical evidence bridging educational management theory and character education practice, informing policy regarding resource allocation, professional development, and family-school partnerships necessary for sustained disciplinary cultivation.

Abstract

This paper describes the use of ChatGPT in learning. The research is a qualitative descriptive study with a case study at SMA Negeri 1 Sukabumi in West Java Province Indonesia. The research begins with a survey, which involves the distribution of questionnaires to 13 learning subject teachers in grade 10 and 69 tenth-grade students who were selected randomly. The questionnaire results were analyzed as a basis for further research, including in-depth interviews, observations, and document studies. Classroom observations were carried out on two teachers who have implemented learning using ChatGPT. To deepen the results of the observations, interviews were distributed to the two teachers and three students who were randomly selected from the observed classes. The research findings indicate that learning using ChatGPT can assist teachers in preparing and directing students in the teaching and learning process. With teacher guidance, students are expected to gain knowledge more comprehensively and deeply byasking specific questions that align with learning objectives. The teacher’s competence to guide students in the use of ChatGPT in terms of n achieving learning objectives determines the achievement of learning outcomes from each student. ChatGPT, as one of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, offers new challenges in the field of education. Abstract

This research aims to describe the management of principal supervision in improving teachers' pedagogical competence at SDN Bojongpicung 2, Cianjur Regency and SDN Cibabat Mandiri 2, Cimahi City. This qualitative descriptive research involved 20 teachers, two principals, and 152 students from grades IV-VI as research subjects. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that supervision management includes four stages: planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation. Planning involves needs analysis and program preparation. Organizing includes determining supervision approaches and scheduling. Implementation is carried out through clinical supervision, classroom observation, and reflective discussion using collaborative, directive, and non-directive approaches. Evaluation is conducted periodically to measure supervision effectiveness. The implementation of supervision management shows significant improvement in teachers' pedagogical competence with an average N-Gain of 0,68 in the medium to high category. The success of supervision is supported by transformational leadership, collaborative culture, and constructive feedback.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the management of student empowerment strategies in creating a healthy school environment at SD Negeri Sukajaya, Cianjur Regency, and SD Negeri Legokbedo, Bandung Regency. The research problem arises from the fact that the implementation of school health programs, particularly Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat/PHBS), has not been optimally managed, even though daily hygiene and health practices are routinely carried out in schools. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies involving principals, teachers, and related stakeholders. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that student empowerment strategies are implemented through habitual clean and healthy behaviors, active student involvement in school hygiene activities, and teachers’ role modeling. These practices contribute positively to the development of a clean and healthy school culture. However, the management of these strategies has not been fully supported by formal planning documents, well-documented organizational structures, or measurable supervision and evaluation instruments. As a result, the implementation of student empowerment strategies tends to be functional but remains informal and highly dependent on individual initiatives. From a management perspective, the findings align with G. R. Terry’s grand theory of management, which emphasizes the integration of four key functions: planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling. The study reveals that the actuating function has been relatively well implemented, while the planning, organizing, and controlling functions require significant strengthening. Therefore, reinforcing managerial aspects—particularly systematic planning, clear organizational arrangements, and structured supervision—is essential to ensure that student empowerment strategies in promoting healthy schools can be implemented more systematically, consistently, and sustainably.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze teacher resource management in enhancing character education in elementary schools through a case study at SD Negeri Gunungkembang, Cianjur Regency, and SD Negeri Cibadak, Bandung Regency. The research is based on the strategic role of teachers as the main agents of character education and the importance of effective teacher management in supporting character development. A qualitative approach with a case study method was employed, guided by G.R. Terry’s management framework, which includes planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling (POAC). Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving principals and teachers. Data analysis was conducted interactively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that both schools have implemented character education programs and established clear goals; however, teacher development planning has not been systematically documented. In terms of organizing, task distribution related to character education has been carried out, although overlapping roles among teachers were still found. In the actuating stage, character education was implemented through role modeling, value-based learning, and positive habituation, but its application was not yet evenly practiced by all teachers. In the controlling stage, supervision and monitoring were conducted, yet follow-up actions based on evaluation results were still limited. This study concludes that teacher resource management based on the POAC framework plays a significant role in improving the effectiveness of character education in elementary schools and should be strengthened through more structured, consistent, and sustainable implementation.
