Abstract

This study aims to capture the extent to which cultural elements play a role in the media "Aljazeera Learning Arabic" and the portion of its use at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. This study is qualitative descriptive research aimed at analyzing the educational media "Aljazeera Learning Arabic" from a cultural perspective. The research object is the media "Aljazeera.Learning.Arabic," with data collected through participatory observation and written documents from the website. The analysis techniques employed include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that this media consists of three main levels: “al-mubtadi'” (beginner), “al-mutawassith” (intermediate), and “al-mutaqaddim” (advanced). Each level includes several learning themes, which incorporate cultural elements to help students improve their language skills. These cultural aspects are proportionally varied across the levels. At the “al-mubtadi'” level, cultural themes constitute only 36%, while at the “al-mutawassith'” level, they account for 47%. At the “al-mutaqaddim” level, cultural themes dominate, comprising 55% of the total themes. This indicates that cultural content becomes more prominent as the learning level progresses.

Abstract

This study analyzes Arabic listening learning in the Saudi Electronic University program. This program has been designed based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages standards. This study is a qualitative study, and the object of the study is listening learning for beginners in the Arabic-Online.Net Saudi Electronic University program. The research data is an istima'/listening learning program for beginners (A1), which is learning at levels 1,2, and 3 in the "Arabic-Online.Net" website of Saudi Electronic University. The data were obtained through participatory observation and documentation. The collected data will be analyzed using Goffman's Framing analysis to see the construction of learning materials in forming student understanding. The results of the study indicate that listening learning for beginners in the "Arabic-Online.net" program is in line with the CEFR A1 standard. Among them are 1) being able to understand simple expressions or phrases, 2) being able to introduce oneself or others, and being able to ask or answer questions about personal information, 3) being able to interact simply, speak slowly, and use easy language, and 4) based on framing analysis, it was found that the framing of content and material showed positive framing, although in technical framing, some negative framing was found, such as speed of speech and availability of supporting features for beginners.

Abstract

Adolescents are a vulnerable group when it comes to nutrition-related obesity issues. Obesity is a chronic disease resulting from excessive fat accumulation and is a major risk factor for non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Nutrition knowledge is an important factor as it impacts attitudes and behaviors. This study aimed to assess the differences in nutrition education using video and PowerPoint media on knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors related to balanced nutrition in the prevention of non-communicable diseases among adolescents. The research design was quasi-experiment with a pre-posttest control group design. The study was divided into two groups: the treatment group at SMAN 1 Cimahi, and the control group at SMAN 3 Cimahi in August – November 2024. The results showed a significant effect of nutrition education using video media on knowledge (p = 0.000), attitudes (p = 0.001), and behavior (p = 0.010). The average knowledge score before and after education using video media was 54.24 to 76.97, there was an increase of 22.73 points, the average attitude score was 49.93 to 52.24 increased 2.31 points and the average behavior score was 43.39 to 46.45 increased 3.06 point. The difference in average knowledge was 9.2 points, attitude 1.61 points and behavior 0.67 points higher in the treatment group than the control group. Conclusion: Nutrition education using video media is more effective in improving knowledge of balanced nutrition in the prevention of non-communicable diseases among adolescents compared to PowerPoint media, but it is not more effective in improving attitudes and behaviors related to balanced nutrition.

Abstract

The 21st century brings new challenges and demands in education, especially in mathematics learning. Mathematical literacy now includes not only numeracy skills, but also critical thinking skills, problem solving, collaboration, and technological literacy. This article aims to examine various innovative learning models that have been applied in the context of 21st century mathematics education. Through a literature review of a number of national and international studies, it was found that approaches such as Problem Based Learning (PBL), Project Based Learning (PjBL), STEM education, Blended Learning, and the use of digital technology have a positive impact on improving students' learning outcomes and 21st century skills. This study recommends the development of an adaptive curriculum and ongoing teacher training so that these innovations can be implemented effectively.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the correlation between mathematical resilience and academic science emotion and provides new insights into this association through the application of canonical correlation analysis. The study involved a sample of 191 students from a state university in Central Java, Indonesia. Participants completed self-report measures to assess their levels of mathematical resilience and academic science emotion. Data was collected by randomly distributing questionnaires to students, evaluating five indicators of academic resilience (self-efficacy, planning, control, low anxiety, persistence) and three indicators of science emotions (class-related emotions, learning-related emotions, test emotions). Canonical correlation analysis was conducted to examine the multidimensional relationship between these variables and identify underlying patterns and associations. The analysis, conducted using R programming, yielded canonical correlation coefficients of 0.785, 0.396, and 0.119, indicating a significant positive linear relationship between the analyzed variables. These findings provide insight for educators and policymakers to design interventions that enhance both mathematical resilience and emotional well-being in science education

Abstract

The aim of this research is to explore the effectiveness of using Augmented Reality (AR) technology as an innovative medium in learning Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) to increase elementary school students' awareness and understanding of preserving natural resources. This research uses a quasi-experimental research method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research subjects were fifth grade students at an elementary school in Indonesia, who were divided into an experimental group that used AR media and a control group that used conventional learning media. The research results show that the use of AR media significantly increases students' understanding of the concept of preserving natural resources compared to traditional learning methods. In addition, students in the experimental group showed higher levels of learning motivation as well as active participation in class discussions. The implication of this research is that AR technology can be an effective and interesting learning tool in teaching complex environmental topics. The use of AR not only helps students understand concepts visually and interactively, but also motivates them to be more actively involved in efforts to conserve natural resources. The results of this research provide a basis for the development of technology-based learning media that can be applied in various educational contexts, especially to support sustainable education at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This research focuses on predicting the value of oil and gas exports in Indonesia, employing a hybrid methodology that combines autoregressive models and a bootstrap approach. Specifically, this research applies the bootstrap-after-bootstrap approach to showcase its effectiveness in improving the accuracy of parameter estimates. Analysis results indicate that the autoregressive model with an order of p=2 minimizes the AIC, BIC, and HQ values, yielding AIC=9.833775, BIC=10.03125, and HQ=9.883440, respectively. Consequently, the AR(2) model emerges as the optimal choice for predicting Indonesia's export value of oil and gas. This research utilizes varying numbers of bootstrap replications (B=100, 250, 500, 1000, and 10000) to assess the impact on prediction intervals. Prediction intervals exhibit less smoothness for B=100 and B=250, whereas B=500 and B=1000 result in a considerably smoother pattern. The highest level of smoothness is achieved for B=10000. The findings underscore that bootstrap-after-bootstrap prediction intervals provide the most accurate and conservative assessment of future uncertainty. Moreover, predictive analysis for the upcoming five periods indicates a projected decline in the export value of oil and gas in Indonesia. Overall, this research demonstrates the efficacy of the bootstrap-after-bootstrap approach in enhancing the precision of predictions and providing robust insights into future uncertainties surrounding Indonesia's oil and gas export market.
