Abstract

ruminansia. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa probiotik dapat membantu meningkatkan pencernaan dan penyerapan nutrisi, mengurangi masalah pencernaan, serta meningkatkan kekebalan tubuh ternak. Kegiatan abdimas ini dilaksanakan di Kelurahan Mokoau kecamatan Kambu Kota Kendari. Waktunya dilaksanakan pada bulan Desember 2024 menggunakan metode penyuluhan. Alat yang digunakan dalam pembuatan probitotik adalah wadah fermentasi, pengaduk, termometer, pH meter dan saringan sedangkan bahan yang digunakan adalah buah mangga busuk, air bersih, gula, starter probiotik dan nutrisi tambahan. Proses produksi probiotik dari buah mangga busuk dimulai dengan pemilihan bahan baku yang berkualitas. Buah mangga yang sudah busuk, tetapi masih dalam kondisi layak untuk diproses, akan dipilih. Selanjutnya, buah mangga tersebut dicuci untuk menghilangkan kotoran dan mikroba patogen yang mungkin ada di permukaan. Setelah itu, buah mangga dipotong kecil-kecil untuk memudahkan proses memasak dan fermentasi. Proses memasak dilakukan dengan cara merebus potongan buah mangga dalam air bersih selama 30 menit. Setelah direbus, campuran dibiarkan mendingin hingga mencapai suhu ruangan. Pada tahap ini, penambahan starter kultur probiotik sangat penting. Starter kultur yang digunakan dapat berupa Lactobacillus spp.,. Kegiatan pengbadian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan metode produksi probiotik dari buah mangga busuk yang tidak hanya dapat mengurangi limbah, tetapi juga meningkatkan kesehatan dan produktivitas ruminansia. Dengan memanfaatkan sumber daya lokal, kita dapat menciptakan solusi yang berkelanjutan dan ekonomis.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to provide knowledge and skills to women in coastal villages on how to make fish floss from tuna scraps, resulting in floss with a texture, aroma, and taste similar to beef floss. The activity was conducted in Abeli Subdistrict, with participants from five coastal neighborhoods in Kendari City: Abeli Village (3 participants), Lapulu Village (3 participants), Talia Village (5 participants), Nambo Village (4 participants), and Sambuli Village (4 participants), totaling 19 participants. The activity was conducted using educational sessions and demonstrations.  The evaluation results showed that the community, particularly the women who participated in the training, were able to master and apply the fish floss production techniques taught. Based on observations by the program implementers, approximately 90% of the women were already able to make fish floss, as most participants had previously been accustomed to making traditional Bajabu fish floss. With this knowledge, they were able to utilize their free time productively by producing fish floss from tuna scraps.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan skill berupa bimbingan teknis agribisnis usaha pemotongan ayam bagi mahasiswa semester akhir untuk mempersiapkan lapangan kerja bagi mereka. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan secara online via zoom yang mana pelaksanaan bimbingan teknis dipraktikan Hal indan mahasiswa memperhatikan dan melihat via zoom. Peserta kegiatan ini adalah mahasiswa semester akhir. Bimbingan teknis dan penyuluhan diberikan kepada mahasiswa semester akhir yaitu penanganan ayam sebelum disembelih, penanganan saat penyembelihan, penanganan usai penyembelihan dan Cara sembelih yang sesuai persyaratan halal. Hasil kegiatan dan evaluasi yaitu: peserta bimbingan teknis dan penyuluhan adalah mahasiswa semester akhir yang sangat antusias untuk menerima materi yang disampaikan, Peserta bimbingan teknis sangat aktif mengadopsi materi hal ini tampak dengan mulai diperhatikannya aspek persyaratan ASUH dalam pemotongan ayam, dan pada semua tahap kegiatan para peserta selalu aktif berdiskusi dan menanyakan perihal yang belum mereka ketahui. Kesimpulan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah adalah setiap penyembelihan ayam harus memenuhi persyaratan ASUH untuk menjamin mutu daging ayam dan keamanannya sehingga memberikan ketentraman, kepercayaan konsumen dan masyarakat umum secara luas yang selanjutnya akan memberikan efek yang baik bagi pengusaha rumah potong ayam (RPA) karena dapat menjamin keberlangsungan usahanya. Selain itu, untuk membuka usaha rumah pemotongan ayam (RPA) mempunyai prospek yang baik berdasarkan hasil simulasi perhitungan diperkirakan pengusaha yang memotong ayam 50 ekor/hari bisa mendapatkan keuntungan Rp.22.600.000/bulan.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the forms, experiences, and meanings of learning innovations applied by teachers and educational units in facing the era of technological disruption. Using an exploratory qualitative approach and case study method, this study was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Banyuwangi, involving teachers, students, and the principal as the main informants. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and documentation analysis. The results of the study indicate that the forms of learning innovation include the use of artificial intelligence (AI), the Learning Management System (LMS) platform, interactive learning videos, and blended learning models. Teachers and students experience significant changes in their roles and learning methods. This innovation is interpreted as a process of adaptation to the demands of the times and is considered capable of increasing the efficiency and quality of learning, although there are still obstacles such as limited access to technology. This study strengthens the relevance of the Diffusion of Innovation, TPACK, and SAMR theories in the context of digital learning and provides implications for the development of contextual and sustainable digital transformation-based education policies.

Abstract

Carcass production in Bali cattle is an important indicator in the livestock industry, influenced by genetic and environmental factors, particularly live weight and body dimensions. However, studies comparing the contribution of slaughter weight and body dimensions to carcass production based on the sex of Bali cattle remain limited. This study aims to analyze the relationship between slaughter weight and body dimensions with carcass production in male and female Bali cattle in order to provide precise information for slaughter animal selection. The research was conducted using a survey method and direct measurements of slaughter weight, body dimensions (body length, withers height, and chest girth), and carcass production in 30 Bali cattle (15 males and 15 females) slaughtered at the Kendari City Slaughterhouse. Samples were randomly selected from the population of slaughter-ready cattle. The results showed that slaughter weight had a very strong correlation with carcass production in both male (r = 0.99) and female (r = 0.91) Bali cattle. Among all the measured body dimensions, chest girth showed the most significant influence on carcass production. In conclusion, slaughter weight is the main predictor of carcass production, and chest girth can be used as an additional indicator in selecting Bali cattle, regardless of sex. The contribution of this study is to provide deeper insight into the size-related factors affecting carcass productivity by sex, which can be utilized in breeding programs and livestock slaughter management.

Abstract

Bakso adalah produk olahan daging yang terknenal di Indonesia, memiliki tekstur kenyal, cita rasa yang gurih, terbuat dari kombinasi daging giling, tepung dan bumbu yang dibentuk bulat, direbus hingga matang dengan variasi bahan dasar seperti daging ayam, sapi, ikan hingga daging entok. Upaya meningkatkan kualitas dan nilai gizi bakso yaitu dengan memanfaatkan bahan potensial yang mengandung bahan pengikat pati amilosa yakni tepung biji nangka. Tujuan studi ini yaitu untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengevaluasi kualitas organoleptik bakso entok yang ditambahkan tepung biji nangka dengan level yang berbeda-beda. Pelaksanaan studi ini yaitu di Laboratorium Unit Teknologi Hasil Ternak pada bulan Mei - Juni 2024. Metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) digunakan pada studi ini, melalui 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. P0= tanpa penambahan tepung biji nangka; P1= 10% penambahan tepung biji nangka; P2= 15% penambahan tepung biji nangka; P3= 20% penambahan tepung biji nangka. Temuan studi menunjukkan bahwasanya penambahan tepung biji nangka pada kualitas organoleptik bakso daging entok mempengaruhi (P<0,05) bentuk, warna, tekstur, aroma, kekenyalan, rasa dan penerimaan umum secara nyata. Hal tersebut terlihat dari perlakuan terbaik pada uji kualitas organoleptik terdapat pada perlakuan P1 yang merupakan campuran 10% tepung tapioka dan 10% tepung biji nangka. Kualitas ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas dan nilai gizi produk akhir serta memberikan variasi baru yang dapat diterima oleh konsumen.

This study aims to determine and evaluate the effect of basil leaf extract (Ocimum basilicum L) on the physicochemical properties of dendeng made from rejected laying hens meat. Rejected laying hen meat was treated with basil leaves at various concentrations, namely 0%, 10%, 15%, and 20%. The data were analyzed using analysis of variance based on a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 4 replicates. The variables observed in the physicochemical test included tensile strength, yield, pH, and moisture content. The results showed that the addition of basil leaves to  dendeng had a significant effect (p<0.05) on the physicochemical properties of dendeng. It was concluded that basil leaves could reduce tensile strength, yield, and moisture content, and affect pH

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of slaughter age on the carcass characteristics of Muscovy ducks (Cairina moschata). The research at the Laboratory of Animal Science and Production Technology, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Halu Oleo University. A total of 20 male Muscovy ducks were randomly selected from a farm in Cialam Jaya Village, Konda Sub-district, South Konawe Regency. The study was designed using a completely randomized design with four treatments and five replications. The age treatments included ducks aged 6 months (P1), 12 months (P2), 18 months (P3), and 24 months (P4). Before slaughter, the ducks were fasted to minimize bias from digestive tract contents, and their live weights were measured. Halal slaughtering was conducted by severing the esophagus, trachea, jugular vein, and common carotid artery. After complete bloodletting, the ducks were scalded in hot water to facilitate feather removal. This was followed by evisceration and separation of the head, neck, and feet to obtain the carcass. The carcass was weighed and divided into parts: breast, thigh, back, and wing, which were then individually weighed. The observed variables included slaughter weight, carcass percentage, and percentages of carcass parts such as the breast, thigh, back, and wing. The results showed that age significantly affected carcass percentage and the percentage of carcass parts, including thighs, breasts, and wings, but had no significant effect on slaughter weight or the percentage of the back. It was concluded that as the age of the ducks increased, so did the carcass percentage and the percentages of carcass parts, particularly the breast and thigh.An abstract is a concise summary for readers to get a general understanding on the research conducted. Abstract

Hamparan Perak is a sub-district in Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province. The main potential in the Hamparan Perak Subdistrict is agriculture, plantation, animal husbandry, and tourism. The livestock sector has developed but when viewed from the aspect of feed management there are several problems faced by farmers. Especially in the quality of feed which is limited to agricultural waste, field grass, and straw as the main feed of livestock grazing. Community service aims to improve the skills and knowledge of farmers about feedmanagement by adding supplement feeds, namely urea molasses multi-nutrient block. The methods used in the community service training and discussion program were previously carried out approaches, interviews, and observation of problems to get a solution. Strengthening and fostering for farmers is carried out after counseling and training activities to achieve maximum results in the development of livestock production. The results thathave been achieved are based on observations and questionnaires after the community service program that is increasing the skills and knowledge of farmers in making and application of supplement feeds, namely urea molasses multi-nutrient block. Farmers' skills in managing feed processing, especially in the preparation of ruminant ration formulations, have also improved
