Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to explain why MTsN 6 Sleman, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, was designated as a Rintisan Madrasah Unggul (RMU), analyze the branding and institutional promotion strategies following that designation, and formulate a conceptual model of Islamic values-based madrasah branding. Design/methods/approach – This study uses a qualitative approach with an instrumental case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, limited participant observation, and documentation analysis of 15 informants consisting of leaders, teachers, staff, students, and parents. The data were analyzed thematically based on the symbolic interactionism framework. Findings – The findings show that the designation of MTsN 6 Sleman as an RMU was supported by institutional readiness that included adaptive capacity toward policy, disciplined academic governance, the quality of resources and facilities, and a strong religious and professional culture. Following the RMU designation, branding was developed through strengthening institutional identity, consolidating internal and external mindsets, differentiating flagship programs such as tahfidz, research, and robotics, and value-based multichannel promotion through direct communication and digital media. Based on these findings, this study formulates the KIPOO Kite Model, which places branding and promotion as an integrative mechanism that connects context, input, process, output, and outcome. Research implications – These findings provide a reference for madrasahs in building values-based branding through strengthening vision, differentiating flagship programs, institutionalizing an internal development team, and carrying out digital and face-to-face promotion consistent with institutional identity.

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic that attacked the Indonesian state, all agencies were temporarily closed, especially educational institutions. This policy was carried out with the aim of not spreading the spread of Covid-19 among students. Even so, each agency still assigns tasks for students to do at home. This stipulation was implemented by the Taruna Al-Qur'an Putri Islamic Boarding School, which compiled an online-based tahfidz program as the duty of students while at home during this pandemic. However, in its implementation, not all santriwati perform these tasks optimally, thus making researchers want to know more about the implementation of the online-based tahfidz program. This study uses a qualitative research method with 7 respondents as research objects. The results of this study indicate that each program assigned to santriwati from the Islamic boarding school whether ziyadah, muroja'ah, and the increment of juz can be carried out properly and effectively from both the musyrifah and santriwati, although sometimes there are obstacles and obstacles in its implementation, however, not a barrier. Because every problem will and solution.

Abstract

Objective: Leadership by principals plays a critical role in enhancing teacher professionalism across different education levels, including early childhood education. The shifting needs of 21st-century education necessitate that principals function not just as administrative managers but also as learning leaders who can continuously foster, motivate, and enhance teacher competencies. This research seeks to systematically analyze how principal leadership influences the enhancement of teacher professionalism based on recent studies. Methods: A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with a descriptive qualitative approach was employed, analyzing 20 national and international scientific articles published between 2019–2025 from reputable journal databases, through identification, selection using inclusion and exclusion criteria, data extraction, and thematic synthesis. Results: The findings show that transformational leadership and instructional leadership are the most consistently effective strategies in enhancing teacher professionalism, encompassing pedagogical, professional, social, and personal competencies. Novelty: This study provides a synthesized evidence base from recent literature (2019–2025) confirming that adaptive and collaborative principal leadership approaches are pivotal in supporting educational quality improvement, particularly in the early childhood education context.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Early Childhood Education (PAUD) institution management in improving the quality of educational services. The study is based on the importance of effective and well-organized management as a foundation for delivering quality early childhood education. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method was used by analyzing 20 relevant national and international journal articles published between 2018 and 2025. The selected articles met the criteria of relevance, publication period, and academic credibility. The findings show that the improvement of PAUD service quality is strongly influenced by the effective implementation of key management functions, namely planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring. Clear and structured planning helps institutions design programs that align with children's developmental needs. Effective leadership and organizational practices also support better coordination and institutional performance. In addition, human resource management plays an important role in enhancing educators' professionalism through proper recruitment and continuous professional development. These efforts directly affect the quality of learning experiences provided to children. Continuous evaluation and quality control further ensure consistency and sustainability of services. This study provides an integrated conceptual understanding that can support the development of effective and sustainable strategies for improving PAUD service quality.

Abstract

The disparity of women leadership in higher education has been the concern of scholars for decades. However, the problem still exists until today. In the context of Islamic higher education in Indonesia, similar problem also continues to occur, yet the aspiration of young women lecturers has not been examined. This research aims to investigate the aspiration, hope, and challenges of young women lecturers at Islamic University in Banda Aceh, Indonesia on leadership positions. Employing in-depth interviews with 12 women lecturers in junior and mid leadership career this study found that: first,  women lecturers are less represented both in academic and managerial leaderships; second, all participants aspire more for academic leadership than the managerial one. However they would accept leadership position if they are given trust (amanah) or are appointed for that position; third,  the university uses a direct appointment model in the managerial positions, thus limiting highly motivated women or even men to apply for leadership career; and fourth, women academics have to deal with triple challenges in leadership careers: related to balancing between career and family as well as organizational culture and policies.

Abstract

Kecakapan hidup sebagai basik dasar dalam kehidupan hendaklah di ajarkan pada anak mulai sedini mungkin, agar kelak anak dapat tumbuh mandiri dan berdikari. Namun semenjak kemunculan COVID-19 di awal tahun 2020 hingga saat ini telah merubah tatanan kehidupan termasuk lingkup pendidikan. Hal ini menuntut guru untuk melakukan perubahan dalam proses pembelajaran, termasuk pembelajaran kecakapan hidup pada anak usia dini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkapkan bagaiana kreativitas guru PAUD Wadas Kelir dalam mengajarkan kecakapan hidup pada anak usia dini di masa pandemi covid-19. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan oleh peneliti yakni penelitian lapangan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Dalam menganalisis data peneliti menggunakan tiga tahap, yakni reduksi, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan.  Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan oleh peneliti dapat diketahui bahwa kreativitas guru dalam mengajarkan kecakapan hidup pada anak usia dini di masa pandemi covid-19 yakni, cooking day, aku pahlawan ibuku, cinta lingkungan, bercocok tanam aku anak pintar dan mandiri, senangnya berbagi, games kreatif dan aku anak sholeh. Pembelajaran kecakapan hidup yang diajarkan oleh guru PAUD Wadas Kelir berdampak pada sikap kemandirian dan kepedulian anak, hal ini dapat dilihat dari sikap yang di tunjukan anak dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
