Abstract

Background: Dyslipidemia is an abnormal lipid metabolism characterized by an increase in total cholesterol, LDL (Low-Density Lipoprotein), triglycerides (TG), and a decrease in HDL (High-Density Lipoprotein). Increased levels of total cholesterol, TG, LDL, and decreased HDL levels can increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. According to TCM, dyslipidemia is categorized into "Tan Zheng” (phlegm syndrome), "Shi Zuo” (damp retention), "Xuan Yun” (vertigo), and "Fei Pang” (obesity). Purpose: The purpose of this review is to analyze the literature study on TCM within the treatment of dyslipidemia with different acupuncture methods and points. The primary data search was conducted using online e-resources (Google Scholar, Proquest, and Pubmed). Review: The results of the study should include at least one of the outcomes indicators for total cholesterol, TG, LDL, and HDL. The result there were 20 journals consisting of studies that used several acupuncture methods, manual  acupuncture  (AM),  electroacupuncture  (EA), moxa (MOK), auricular acupuncture (AA), Cupping (CUP), and found additional interventions  such as nutritional  interventions, and exercise; body points often used are Zusanli  (ST 36),  Fenglong (ST 40), Quchi (LI 11), Daheng (SP15), Zhongwan (CV 12), Qihai (CV 6), Guanyuan (CV 4), Sanyinjiao  (SP  6), Shenque  (CV  8),  Tianshu  (ST  25), and therefore for AA are Spleen (CO 13), Stomach (CO 4),  Shenmen (TF 4), and hunger point. Twenty journals showed a decrease in total cholesterol, TG, LDL levels, and an increase in HDL levels. Conclusion: In conclusion, all types of acupuncture methods can reduce total cholesterol, TG and LDL levels, and increase HDL levels.

Abstract

Cardiorespiratory anatomy is fundamental knowledge for doctors. However, knowledge retention in medical students decreases over time. Retention is a reflection of memory ability and is affected by many factors, such as COVID-19 infection. COVID-19 is a disease caused by Sars-CoV-2 and has been declared as a pandemic since March 11th 2020. During the pandemic, cardiorespiratory anatomy tests were held in the 1st semester and 4th semester. The objective of this research was to measure the retention difference between students who had suffered from COVID-19 in that period and the ones without a history of COVID-19. This research was a cross-sectional descriptive analytics observational study involving 59 medical students at Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia. It was known that 19 students had suffered from COVID-19, while the other 40 had not. The average score of overall students experienced a significant decrease from 1st semester to 4th semester (p=0.000), both for students who had (p=0.023) and had not suffered from COVID-19 (p=0.001). However, the 1st semester and 4th semester cardiorespiratory anatomy scores of students with a history of COVID-19 were lower than students without a history of COVID-19. Besides scores, the cardiorespiratory anatomy knowledge retention of students who had suffered from COVID-19 (M=86.72%) was also lower than students who had not (M=86.95%). Nevertheless, the retention difference between those two groups of students was not significant (p=0.703).

Abstract

Introduction Student-centered learning (SCL) is based on students' needs, capacities, and other characteristics, making the method more personalized. This study aimed to analyze new questionnaires to categorize 4th-semester medical faculty students based on their characteristics. Understanding these characteristics could make the teaching and learning process more effective, potentially reducing the number of students retaking exams. Material and Methods: Subjects were 4th semester students who agreed to enroll and self-fulfilled the questionnaire. High achievers are defined as high expectations and consistent high performance (GPAs). Validity and reliability of each item were analyzed by statistical calculations accordingly. GPA in the next semester was used as threshold to confirm the participant's categorization. Results: The study commenced in March 2022, with 107 participants with Grade Point Averages (GPAs) available. The study demonstrated that the questionnaires had high validity and reliability (p-value < 0.005; Pearson Correlation Coefficient and Cronbach alpha). Among the participants, 3 (2.8%) were classified as high achievers, while 3 (28%) were categorized as low achievers. Notably, 44.86% of participants reported their passions as unrelated to medicine, while 5.61% were uncertain of their passions. Regarding vocation, 8.2% cited parental influence, and 10.3% felt their educational progress was not within their control. Conclusion: The questionnaires had high validity and reliability in item analysis. There were 2,8% of participants predicted as High Achievers and Low Achievers. Refinements of items and score presentation are needed. Follow-up activities should be given to the low achievers to prevent becoming retakers.

Abstract

ANALYSIS OF THE USE OF STUDENTS AND LECTURERS IN PROTOCOLAN SME AND CLASS DISCUSSION ABSTRACT: Indonesian language is the first tool, the main tool, and the main fundamental tool in the educational process. Talking about education, it is closely related to language. Language without speakers (students and lecturers) will not produce a language, likewise speakers without language will not create a language. Because language requires speakers with the sounds of the language spoken. Closely related to coaching aimed at the person or speaker, then the development shown in the language. These two things are interrelated and cannot be separated, because in order to create a generation that loves our nation's national language, it is they who always improve the quality of their learning in Indonesian by mastering PUEBI and implementing the Policy Law on language that we must get used to and even preserve. So that the Government must be more firm and enforce grammatical law. So that they can foster each other and develop language in the next duplication.KEYWORDS: Analysis; language; protocol UKM; and discussion.

Abstract

This research examines women's attitudes towards exploitation in three modern Indonesian novels: Bumi Manusia by Pramoedya Ananta Toer, Nyai Gowok by Budi Sardjono, and Re: and Perempuan by Maman Suherman. This research applies a descriptive qualitative method with a document study type and uses a feminist literary criticism approach to examine the exploitation of women in three modern Indonesian novels. The instrument used was data cards. The data collection process involved steps such as collection, condensation, data reduction, and conclusion drawing. After collecting data from the three novels, the researcher analyzed and compared the patterns of narration and characterization of women's exploitation to draw more in-depth conclusions. The results of the research are ten novel excerpts that show that female characters such as Nyai Ontosoroh display firm resistance and independence, while Nyai Lindri expresses her resistance through the boundaries she sets, and Re: accepts the reality of exploitation with an adaptive attitude. The novels as a whole illustrate the complexity of women's responses to exploitation and their struggle for dignity and autonomy in a patriarchal society.
