Abstract

Purpose: The aim of this study is to analyze the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) as part of the Merdeka Curriculum. Method: This research employed a qualitative method with a multisite approach at SMA Negeri 1 and SMA Negeri 4 Padangsidimpuan. The analysis technique followed Miles, Huberman, and Saldana (2014), consisting of data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Result: The findings reveal that: (1) lesson planning in both schools adheres to the national Merdeka Curriculum guidelines, yet differs in practice—SMA Negeri 1 combines conventional planning with selective innovations, while SMA Negeri 4 emphasizes project-based and contextual approaches tailored to student needs; (2) the implementation stage shows strong institutional commitment, use of the Merdeka Teaching Platform, and student-centered learning, although challenges persist in aligning Islamic values with new pedagogical models; and (3) evaluation incorporates cognitive, affective, and psychomotor assessments, but teachers face difficulties in ensuring fairness and meaningfulness, particularly in online and hybrid settings. Conclusion: These results indicate that successful implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum depends on adaptability to local school contexts, availability of resources, and continuous teacher training. The study recommends enhancing professional development, strengthening school-community collaboration, and developing more holistic assessment strategies to ensure that Islamic Religious Education under the Merdeka Curriculum achieves its transformative goals.

Abstract

Learning success is one of the factors determined by teaching materials, but teaching materials compiled by lecturers are often not in accordance with university policies. In this regard, this study aims to produce learning evaluation teaching materials based on transdisciplinary. The focus of the study is on three things, namely feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of transdisciplinary based learning evaluation courses. The research method uses research and development with reference to the theory of the Gall, Gall and Borg model which recommends the model developed by Dick, Carey and Carey. The results showed: (1) the transdisciplinary based learning evaluation course was developed starting from needs analysis, design, trial and revision. The developed learning is equipped with lecturer manuals, student manuals, and teaching books, (2) transdisciplinary based evaluation learning has been validated for its feasibility by learning design experts and material experts, with the results showing the learning product is feasible to use, (3) transdisciplinary based evaluation learning developed, has a practicality level with a score of 3.28 in the practical category, (4) transdisciplinary based evaluation learning is proven to be effective in improving student learning outcomes, with an N-Gain Score of 0.38 in the medium effectiveness category.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of organizational culture, leadership behavior, and job satisfaction on the work productivity of kindergarten teachers in Binjai City. Using a quantitative research approach, data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 120 teachers across several early childhood education institutions. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, reliability tests, and multiple regression analysis. The results revealed that all three independent variables significantly affect teacher productivity, both partially and simultaneously. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.726 indicates that 72.6% of productivity variation is explained by these factors, while job satisfaction emerged as the most dominant variable. The findings suggest that a strong organizational culture promotes discipline and cooperation, effective leadership encourages motivation and commitment, and job satisfaction enhances enthusiasm and performance. Overall, the synergy among these three aspects creates a conducive and productive educational environment for early childhood teachers. This study emphasizes the importance of strengthening organizational culture, applying transformational leadership, and improving job satisfaction to optimize teacher productivity in early education institutions.

Abstract

This study addresses the lack of integration of character values in teaching materials for the Learning Media course in Islamic Religious Education, the limited availability of character-based resources, and the less-than-optimal holistic learning experience for prospective educators. The purpose of the research is to develop teaching materials based on character values for this course. The study applies a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, involving third-semester students of Islamic Religious Education at Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara. Data collection techniques include expert validation, observation, and statistical analysis using a t-test and N-Gain. The results indicate that the developed teaching materials are effective. The t-test analysis yields a t-value of 6.01, which exceeds the t-table value of 1.69 at the 0.05 significance level, indicating that the null hypothesis is rejected and the alternative hypothesis is accepted. This confirms a significant difference in student learning outcomes before and after using the developed materials. Furthermore, the N-Gain score of 0.88 is categorized as high, indicating a strong improvement in learning achievement. Student learning activities featured active participation, task completion, and group discussions, while lecturers primarily served as facilitators and explainers of material. In conclusion, the development of character-based teaching materials significantly improves student learning outcomes and is effective. This research is significant for enhancing educational quality, strengthening student character, and providing an innovative teaching material model that can be adapted to other higher education courses in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

This study examines the limitations in the integration of tawhid-based decision making, leadership behavior, and communication style in improving the performance of madrasah principals, which has so far been analyzed partially and has not been comprehensively addressed. The study aims to empirically analyze the partial and simultaneous effects of tawhid-based decision making, leadership behavior, and communication style on the performance of principals of State Islamic Senior High Schools (MAN) in Medan. A quantitative ex post facto correlational study was conducted at MAN 1, MAN 2, and MAN 3 Medan with a sample of 60 respondents. Data were collected using valid and reliable questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that tawhid-based decision-making has a positive and significant effect on madrasah principal performance, with a coefficient of 0.365 and a significance value of 0.005. In contrast, leadership behavior is not significant, with a coefficient of 0.022 and a significance value of 0.872. Communication style is the most dominant variable, with a coefficient of 0.479 and a significance value of 0.000. Simultaneously, the three variables have a significant effect, with an F value of 19.583 and an R² of 0.512. The performance of madrasah principals is significantly influenced by tawhid-based decision-making and communication style, with communication being the dominant factor. This study strengthens Islamic leadership theory and provides practical implications for improving performance through the integration of spiritual values and effective communication.
