Abstract

This Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN) aimed to empower Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Batu Karang Village through the adoption of digital technology, particularly the use of the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) for non-cash transactions and Google Maps for improving business visibility. The program was conducted in response to the low level of digital literacy among local business actors and the continued dominance of manual, cash-based transaction systems, which often hinder efficiency and market expansion. A descriptive qualitative method was applied using a participatory approach that actively involved MSME owners in the implementation process. The activities included training on QRIS usage, assistance with business registration and location optimization on Google Maps, and ongoing digital operational support to ensure proper application. The results show that approximately 80% of MSMEs have successfully implemented QRIS as a payment method, while all participating businesses have been registered on Google Maps. The use of QRIS has improved transaction efficiency, security, and transparency, whereas Google Maps has expanded promotional reach and increased customer accessibility. Overall, this program has had a positive impact on enhancing digital literacy, strengthening business independence, and supporting sustainable, technology-based economic growth in rural areas.

Abstract

Empathy is an essential skill in building healthy social relationships; however, in early adolescence, this ability is still developing and requires environmental support. This study aims to enhance students’ empathy through group counselling using the cognitive reappraisal technique at MTs IS Roudhotul Qurro. The research employed a qualitative case study approach involving eight Year VII students who demonstrated tendencies of low empathy in social interactions. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analysed using the Miles and Huberman model. The intervention was implemented over five progressive sessions, ranging from trust-building to the application of reappraisal in social simulations. The findings revealed a gradual increase in empathy, both during sessions and in daily life, including greater social engagement, communication initiative, and concern for peers. Follow-up monitoring also confirmed positive behavioural changes among the students. These findings demonstrate that the cognitive reappraisal technique is effective in enhancing students’ empathy both cognitively and affectively.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the process of transforming Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) toward a digital economy through QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) training and the creation of creative banners as promotional media in Batu Karang Village, Karo Regency. Digital transformation has become an essential need for MSMEs to adapt to changes in consumer behavior and rapid technological development. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach focusing on training materials and the implementation process, without using quantitative data or interview results. The findings indicate that QRIS training provides MSME actors with conceptual and practical understanding of digital payment systems that are efficient, secure, and convenient. In addition, creative banner development functions as a visual promotional tool that strengthens business identity and enhances consumer attraction. The integration of QRIS with creative banners creates synergy between digital payment systems and promotional strategies that are relevant to the conditions of rural MSMEs. Overall, this research demonstrates that digital-based training combined with creative promotional media can serve as an effective strategy to enhance MSME readiness in facing the digital economy era in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

General Background: Education plays a vital role in developing human resources, and high school is a crucial stage where students must prepare for higher education or future careers. However, many students in Indonesia still struggle with unclear career goals and a lack of self-awareness. Specific Background: Existing career guidance programs in schools often remain underdeveloped due to limited resources and monotonous implementation. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies have highlighted the importance of career guidance but have rarely focused on optimizing orientation services as a specific strategy to improve students’ career understanding.Aim: This study aims to optimize career guidance through orientation services based on Holland’s RIASEC theory to enhance the career understanding of 11th-grade students. Results: Using a descriptive qualitative approach, findings revealed that orientation services improved students’ self-awareness, confidence, and career decision-making ability. Novelty: The study uniquely integrates the RIASEC model within school-based orientation services, offering a structured and reflective career development framework.Implications: The findings suggest that continuous orientation services starting from Grade X can effectively strengthen students’ career planning and provide practical insights for counselors in designing more targeted and sustainable career programs. Highlights: Enhances students’ self-awareness and confidence in career decision-making. Integrates Holland’s RIASEC model into structured school orientation programs. Recommends continuous career guidance starting from Grade X for sustainability. Keywords: Orientation Services, Career Understanding, Riasec Theory, Career Guidance, High School Students

Abstract

Mathematics learning anxiety is a prevalent issue among high school students that can adversely affect academic performance and psychological well-being. Despite extensive quantitative research, little is known about the lived experiences and psychospiritual dimensions of students facing mathematics anxiety, particularly within Islamic educational settings. This qualitative case study explores the determinants of mathematics learning anxiety among students at Senior High School (SMA) Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Participants were purposively selected based on active enrollment, observable signs of mathematics anxiety, and willingness to provide informed consent. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis, then analyzed thematically. Findings indicate that students experience psychosomatic symptoms, cognitive difficulties, altered learning behavior, and neurophysiological disturbances. Contributing factors include low self-efficacy, poor concentration, fear of failure, and the perception of mathematics as inherently difficult. Anxiety manifested during lessons and assessments, negatively influencing problem-solving, conceptual understanding, and overall academic achievement. This study highlights the need for holistic support strategies in schools that address both psychological and psychospiritual well-being, integrating educational and Islamic principles to reduce mathematics learning anxiety and enhance student outcomes.

Abstract

Academic critical thinking is a crucial competence for university students; however, many still face difficulties in analytical reasoning, evaluative judgment, and reflective thinking due to irrational beliefs and affective barriers. This study aimed to develop and test the effectiveness of a cognitive restructuring counseling model to enhance students’ academic critical thinking. The study employed a research and development approach with mixed methods, involving n = 30 students, and utilized a quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design. The model was validated by experts, yielding a high feasibility score (M = 4.36; 87.2%). Statistical analysis using a paired-sample t-test revealed a significant improvement in academic critical thinking scores from pretest (M = 61.36) to posttest (M = 80.46), t(29) = XX.XX, p < .05, with a large effect size (Cohen’s d = 1.10). The greatest improvement was observed in metacognitive reflection. These findings indicate that the model effectively promotes rational, reflective, and open thinking patterns by addressing cognitive distortions and affective barriers. The novelty of this study lies in integrating cognitive restructuring counseling with academic critical thinking development within a structured and validated framework, particularly in the context of Islamic higher education.

Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of group counseling with the technique of charting irrational beliefs to increase students' self-awareness in working on UKBM. This study uses a quantitative approach of the pre-experimental type with a one-group pretest- posttest design model. The sample of this study was 7 students of grade XI Social Sciences at MAN 1 Medan. The instrument used was a 30 item Self-Awareness Scale compiled based on Daniel Goleman's theory and the intervention was in the form of group counseling services using the technique of mapping irrational beliefs carried out in 5 meeting sessions, each session lasting 45 minutes. Data analysis techniques used the Wilcoxon test with the help of the SPSS 27.0 application. Based on the results of the Wilcoxon test showing an increase in significance value of 0.018 (p <0.05), it can be concluded that group counseling services with the technique of charting irrational beliefs are effective in increasing self-awareness in students working on UKBM.
