Abstract

This study aims to understand the role of Islamic counseling using the concept of tawakal in addressing baby blues symptoms. The research employs a qualitative method, with interviews and documentation as data collection techniques. The results show that client "D" experienced baby blues symptoms such as crying, sleep disturbances, and a decrease in appetite. Counseling was conducted in three sessions, teaching the concept of tawakal through verses from the Qur'an, tauhid (monotheism), and dhikr (remembrance of God). After the counseling, the client showed improvements, including a reduced frequency of crying, better emotional control, and improved sleep and appetite. In conclusion, Islamic counseling using the concept of tawakal was effective in reducing baby blues symptoms and preventing the emergence of new symptoms.

Abstract

Dunia pendidikan dihadapkan berbagai permasalahan siswa yang dapat mengganggu proses pendidikan yang dijalaninya, tidak hanya permasalahan dalam memahami materi pelajaran saja namun siswa juga mengalami permasalahan dalam kehidupan pribadi dan sosialnya seperti, siswa mempunyai hubungan yang buruk dengan siswa lainnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh layanan konseling kelompok dengan teknik self control terhadap perilaku bolos siswa kelas XI IPS 3 Madrasah Aliyah Muallimin UNIVA Medan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain quasi eksperimen dengan menggunakan desain one-group pretest-posttest dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Sampel yang diambil dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 10 siswa, dan diambil dari kelas XI IPS 3 Madrasah Aliyah Muallimin UNIVA Medan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terbukti melalui hasil analisis uji t (Paired Sample t-Test) diperoleh Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000 < 0,05 maka terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan hasil sebelum (pretest) dan sesudah (posttest) pada pemberian layanan konseling kelompok teknik self control. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh layanan konseling kelompok dengan teknik self control terhadap perilaku bolos siswa.

Abstract

The cultivation of monotheistic values in pesantren plays an important role in shaping the character and spirituality of santri. However, in the midst of the times influenced by globalization and modernization, the cultivation of the value of monotheism faces various challenges. This study aims to analyze the values of monotheism given to santri through Islamic counseling services, the implementation of the cultivation of monotheistic values, supporting and inhibiting factors, and efforts to overcome these obstacles in Langkat Regency Islamic Boarding Schools. The method used is qualitative with a multisite approach, which allows comparison of two pesantren to obtain a comprehensive understanding. The results showed that the values of tawheed taught included the tawheed of Rububiyah, Uluhiyah, and Asma wa Sifat. The implementation of instilling the value of tawhid is carried out through a systematic curriculum and varied methods. The main supporting factors include competent teaching, a religious environment, and family support. However, the influence of globalization and technology is a major challenge. Efforts to overcome obstacles involve integrating theory with worship practices, personal mentoring, and utilizing technology in learning. This study suggests the importance of cooperation between pesantren, families, and communities to support the internalization of the values of monotheism.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of group guidance services with problem solving techniques in increasing the motivation and learning discipline of tahfidz students in a madrasah environment. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, involving 20 purposively selected students from MTs Al-Washliyah Lubuk Amat, North Sumatra. Participants were divided into two groups: experimental and control. The experimental group attended six 60-minute structured group guidance sessions designed to foster self-awareness, identify learning barriers and formulate solutions independently. The intervention was designed by integrating the spiritual values and commitment that characterize tahfidz education. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test using a Likert scale questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability (r = 0.456-0.986; α = 0.871). The paired sample t-test results showed a statistically significant increase in scores in the experimental group (mean difference = 24.95; p = 0.000), with a very large effect size (Cohen's d = 2.51). These findings prove that problem-solving-based group guidance is effective in supporting the behavioral and cognitive development of students who face academic and spiritual demands simultaneously. Theoretically, this study integrates Bandura's self-efficacy theory with the Islamic counseling framework. Practically, this study presents an intervention model that can be replicated in educational institutions that organize tahfidz programs. This study fills a void in the literature related to structured psychopedagogical interventions in the context of religious value-based education.

Abstract

Adolescence is a critical phase in identity formation, which is strongly influenced by interpersonal interactions, including relationships with parents. The absence of a father figure can lead to emotional and social voids in adolescents, often resulting in feelings of worthlessness and the emergence of insecure behaviour. To evaluate the effectiveness of expressive writing in group counselling for reducing insecure behaviour among fatherless students in Grade 10 Computer and Network Engineering students at SMK Mandiri. This research employed a quantitative method with a pre-experimental one-group Pre-Test and post-test design and a purposive sampling technique. A total of 8 fatherless students who exhibited high levels of insecurity were selected as participants. Data were collected using validated fatherless and insecure behaviour scales. The results of the study, based on the paired sample t-test analysis, showed a significant value for Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 < 0.05. These findings indicate that the expressive writing technique in group counselling is effective in reducing insecure behaviour among fatherless students.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of group counseling with the Dispute Cognitive technique in reducing people pleaser behavior in class VIII students of MTsN Kota Tanjungbalai. The research method used is a quantitative research method with a quasi-experimental approach (quasi experiment) with a one group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consisted of 30 students who were selected purposively based on the results of observations and recommendations from BK teachers. The main instrument was a Likert scale questionnaire that measured six aspects of people pleaser behavior. The results showed a decrease in the average score from 40.10 (pretest) to 35.07 (posttest), and the Wilcoxon test showed a significance value of 0.011 (p 0.05), which means there was a significant difference before and after treatment. These findings indicate that the Dispute Cognitive technique is effective in helping students change irrational thinking patterns to be more rational and build healthy social behavior. This study provides important implications for guidance and counseling services in schools to develop cognitive interventions that focus on strengthening students' identity and assertiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of group counseling with the technique of charting irrational beliefs to increase students' self-awareness in working on UKBM. This study uses a quantitative approach of the pre-experimental type with a one-group pretest- posttest design model. The sample of this study was 7 students of grade XI Social Sciences at MAN 1 Medan. The instrument used was a 30 item Self-Awareness Scale compiled based on Daniel Goleman's theory and the intervention was in the form of group counseling services using the technique of mapping irrational beliefs carried out in 5 meeting sessions, each session lasting 45 minutes. Data analysis techniques used the Wilcoxon test with the help of the SPSS 27.0 application. Based on the results of the Wilcoxon test showing an increase in significance value of 0.018 (p <0.05), it can be concluded that group counseling services with the technique of charting irrational beliefs are effective in increasing self-awareness in students working on UKBM.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh meningkatnya fenomena remaja dari keluarga broken home yang menghadapi kesulitan dalam membentuk hubungan sosial yang sehat, khususnya dalam memilih teman sebaya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara keadaan broken home dengan kemampuan pemilihan teman sebaya yang sesuai pada siswa kelas IX di SMP Negeri 35 Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional dan teknik purposive sampling, dengan melibatkan 25 siswa yang teridentifikasi dalam kondisi broken home. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa angket yang dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya korelasi positif yang signifikan antara kondisi broken home dan kemampuan dalam memilih teman sebaya yang sesuai, yang berarti semakin kompleks permasalahan keluarga yang dialami, semakin tinggi kemampuan remaja dalam pemilihan teman sebaya. Temuan ini mengindikasikan perlunya intervensi bimbingan konseling yang difokuskan pada peningkatan keterampilan sosial dan emosional siswa broken home. Kesimpulannya, latar belakang keluarga berperan penting dalam pengambilan keputusan sosial remaja, dan temuan ini menjadi pijakan penting bagi guru BK dan orang tua untuk lebih memahami kebutuhan psikososial remaja yang rentan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pendekatan Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) dalam meningkatkan self-esteem siswa melalui intervensi layanan bimbingan konseling. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pre-eksperimental tipe one group pretest-posttest. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah sembilan siswa kelas X TKKR 2 SMK Negeri 6 Medan yang dipilih berdasarkan skor self-esteem terendah pada saat pretest. Intervensi dilakukan melalui empat sesi layanan bimbingan kelompok yang disusun berdasarkan prinsip-prinsip REBT. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Signed Ranked Test. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan antara skor self-esteem sebelum dan sesudah layanan, dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,007 (p < 0,05). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan REBT efektif dalam membantu siswa meningkatkan penghargaan terhadap diri sendiri dengan cara mengganti pola pikir irasional menjadi lebih rasional dan adaptif. Layanan Bimbingan Konselilng juga dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu bentuk intervensi yang mendukung perkembangan psikologis siswa, khususnya dalam hal membangun keyakinan positif terhadap diri sendiri.

Abstract

The attitude of seniority among students in junior high schools (SMP) is a form of dysfunctional social relations that can disrupt an inclusive and healthy learning climate. This study aims to test the effectiveness of group counselling services using reframing techniques to reduce seniority attitudes among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Silangkitang. The approach used is quantitative with a one-group pretest-posttest design. A sample of 9 students was purposively selected based on indications of seniority behaviour. The intervention was conducted over five sessions of group counselling that integrated reframing techniques to reshape participants' mindsets regarding the meaning of social leadership in the school context. The data collection instrument is a Likert scale questionnaire that measures the dimensions of social dominance, symbolic intimidation, and recognition of class status. Data analysis uses the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test due to non-normal data distribution. The results show a significant decrease in seniority attitude scores, from a pretest average of 99.89 to 50.89 in the posttest, with a significance value (p) = 0.004 (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that reframing techniques are effective in helping students to reinterpret their social roles more constructively, thereby reducing dominant behaviour towards other students. This research contributes to developing educational counselling services as a preventive and curative strategy in building an equal, empathetic, and supportive school climate.
