Abstract

Transformational leadership, as one of the most studied leadership theories, has great potential to support and strengthen the implementation of multicultural education. Transformational leadership is characterized by a leader's ability to inspire, motivate and empower followers to achieve positive change and improved performance. Multicultural education is urgently implemented in Indonesia by considering the diversity of cultures, ethnicities, races and religions that surround it. This article discusses a school leadership model that is expected to design, foster, implement and maintain a multicultural culture in schools which in turn can form students' personalities who are friendly and respectful of differences and diversity. The author uses the literature study method by reviewing 20 journals divided into 10 national and 10 international journals. Data collection is done by sorting reference sources and scientific literature related to theories of school leadership, transformational leadership models and multicultural education, then reviewing and analyzing and presenting them in a systematic arrangement. The conclusion in this article states that transformational leadership by school principals is very important to improve the quality of education and encourage continuous improvement in schools. Principals' exemplary behaviors, such as punctuality, cleanliness and proactive problem-solving, earn them respect and positively influence school culture. Multicultural leadership in schools is interpreted as the extent to which principals implement policies, regulations and initiatives that promote a multicultural culture that is not limited to written documents but also includes the enforcement of rules and regulations.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the prevalent issue of a high number of postgraduate students in higher education struggling to complete their studies on time. This phenomenon not only impacts individual students but also affects the overall efficiency of institutional management in higher education. The study aims to analyze the factors influencing study completion. Employing a quantitative approach, this research applies the SMARTER (Simple Multi-Attribute Rating Technique Exploiting Rank) method. Internal factors, including competence, learning motivation, intelligence, attitude, and aptitude, as well as external factors such as family support and institutional services, were assessed through questionnaire data and weighted using the Rank Order Centroid (ROC) technique. The findings reveal that attitude (particularly the initiative for independent learning) is the most influential internal factor, while institutional factors such as coursework services and thesis supervision significantly impact study completion rates. The study concludes that strengthening personal attributes, such as the initiative for self-directed learning, and enhancing institutional support systems, including effective supervisory services, are critical in reducing study duration. These findings provide practical contributions for designing strategic interventions to improve student success and optimize academic program management in higher education.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of teacher certification, professionalism, and work discipline on teacher performance in Indonesia. Optimal teacher performance is a key factor in achieving national education goals, making it crucial to understand the factors that impact teacher performance. This research uses a literature review method by analyzing 20 relevant previous studies. The literature selection process involves studies conducted on teachers at the elementary to secondary school levels in Indonesia, published within the last 1–5 years. Data collection was conducted using keywords such as teacher certification, professionalism, work discipline, and teacher performance, with the results selected based on relevance and the quality of the research methodology. The findings of the study indicate that teacher certification, professionalism, and work discipline have a significant impact on teacher performance. Teacher certification has been shown to enhance teacher competence and motivation, which in turn positively affects the quality of teaching. High professionalism, including mastery of the subject, pedagogical skills, and continuous self-development, also significantly influences teacher performance. Work discipline, which includes punctuality, adherence to rules, and commitment to teaching duties, further supports the improvement of teaching quality and student learning outcomes. These three variables work together to enhance overall teacher performance, ultimately contributing to the achievement of better educational outcomes.

Abstract

Physical education, sports, and health teachers have an important role in shaping the character, physical fitness, and discipline of students at the elementary school level. Rewards can be in the form of financial or non-financial rewards given as a form of appreciation for teacher performance. This study uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design that aims to test the effect of reward policies on the motivation and performance of physical education teachers in elementary schools in the city of Surabaya. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires directly to teachers at school or through an online platform to facilitate respondents who are in more remote locations. The results of the regression analysis showed that the reward policy had a positive and significant effect on motivation (coefficient = 0.42; p <0.05) and performance (coefficient = 0.38; p <0.05). In addition, motivation also has a positive and significant effect on performance (coefficient = 0.45; p <0.05). The coefficient of determination (r²) value of 0.61 indicates that 61% of performance variability can be explained by the reward and motivation policy variables. Conclusion, reward policy has a positive and significant effect on the motivation and performance of physical education teachers in elementary schools in Surabaya. Further research can expand the object and use different approaches to enrich the findings.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of Field Work Practice (FWP) in the Independent Curriculum in two Vocational High Schools (SMK), namely SMKN 1 Driyorejo and SMKN 1 Duduksampeyan. As part of vocational education, street vendors play a strategic role in preparing vocational school graduates to have technical competence and work ethic according to the needs of the business and industry (BI). This study uses the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data was collected through 18 in-depth interviews, 4 direct observations, and analysis of supporting documents, involving principals, vice principals, supervisors, students, parents, and industry partners. The results of the study show that in general, the implementation of street vendors has met the set standards and has a positive impact on students' work readiness. However, several aspects of input and processes were found that still needed to be improved, especially in the synchronization of the curriculum and the debriefing of participants before the implementation of street vendors. These findings indicate that the street vendor program in the Independent Curriculum has great potential to create adaptive, productive, and competent graduates, noting the importance of continuous improvement in planning and partnership with BI.
