Abstract

This study aims to identify obstacles and support in financing education faced by students of the PIAUD Study Program at UINSI Samarinda. Although the number of students is increasing, significant financial challenges hinder their learning process and academic motivation. Qualitative methods were used to explore students' subjective experiences through in-depth interviews with 19 purposively selected participants. The selection of participants was based on students who had sources of financing from parents, scholarships, independent financing, and a combination of parental and scholarship costs, which included students in semesters 1, 3, 5, and 7. The findings showed that the main obstacles consisted of high dependence on parents, minimal information about scholarships, and application procedures that were considered complicated and non-transparent. These obstacles have an impact on difficulties in meeting tuition fees and accessing the necessary academic facilities. However, support through scholarship programs provides financial relief and is a key factor in supporting the sustainability of student studies. This study recommends improvements in the socialization of information about financing programs, simplification of scholarship application procedures, and development of more alternative financial assistance to support students in facing the challenges of financing education.

Abstract

[Bahasa]: Salah satu masalah utama yang sering dihadapi oleh Pusat Kegiatan Belajar Masyarakat (PKBM) di kota Samarinda adalah rendahnya minat belajar peserta didik. Beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi hal ini antara lain kurangnya motivasi pribadi, materi yang dianggap membosankan atau tidak relevan, serta ketidaksesuaian antara metode pembelajaran dengan kebutuhan dan minat peserta didik menjadi penghambat utama dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di PKBM. Program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan meningkatkan minat belajar matematika dan memperkenalkan kepada peserta didik cara-cara baru dalam memperoleh pengetahuan yang lebih modern dan sesuai dengan perkembangan zaman. Dengan menggunakan media berbasis Android dapat menciptakan metode pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif, menyenangkan, dan memotivasi peserta didik untuk lebih aktif. Metode yang digunakan adalah jenis penelitian deskriptif yang menggambarkan kegiatan PkM dalam bentuk pendampingan penggunaan teknologi pendidikan, berupa aplikasi mobile atau platform pembelajaran online yang mudah diakses oleh siswa, media belajar yang dapat diakses di handphone android khusus pembelajaran matematika. Pelaksanaan PkM ini disajikan dengan pendekatan inovatif, menggabungkan pembelajaran menarik dan motivasi inspiratif, baik dari segi materi maupun kisah nyata. Terdiri dari 3 tahapan yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa program pengabdian melalui inovasi media pembelajaran matematika berbasis Android dapat mendorong minat belajar peserta kejar paket C pada PKBM di kota Samarinda. Kata Kunci: Kejar Paket C, media belajar, Android, minat belajar [English]: One of the main problems Community Learning Activity Centers (CLAC) often face in Samarinda is students' low interest in learning. Several factors that influence this include a lack of personal motivation, material considered boring or irrelevant, and a mismatch between learning methods and students' needs and interests, which are the main obstacles to improving the quality of learning at CLAC. This Community Service (CS) program aims to increase interest in learning mathematics and introduce students to new ways of acquiring more modern knowledge in line with current developments. Using Android-based media can create learning methods that are more interactive and fun and can motivate students to be more active. The method used is a type of descriptive research that describes PkM activities in the form of assistance in the use of educational technology, in the form of mobile applications or online learning platforms that are easily accessed by students, learning media that can be accessed on Android cellphones specifically for mathematics learning. This community service consists of three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The implementation of CS is presented with an innovative approach, combining engaging learning and inspiring motivation regarding material and real stories. The results show that the community service program through Android-based mathematics learning innovations encourages students' learning interest in the Paket C equivalency program at PKBM in Samarinda City. Abstract

The implementation of inclusive education is a priority in Indonesia to provide equitable and quality education for all citizens without discrimination. In Bontang City, this is regulated in Mayor Regulation Number 1 of 2013 which aims to fulfill the right to education for all children. In 2013, SDN 003 Bontang Utara and SDN 010 Bontang Selatan were designated as pilot schools for inclusive education. Over time, the number of Special Schools (SLB) increased from 3 to 6, with Students with Special Needs (PDBK) at SLB Negeri Bontang reaching almost 200 students. Evaluative research on the implementation of inclusive education in Bontang City used a qualitative approach with the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) Stufflebeam evaluation model. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documents, and tested through triangulation and audits by supervisors. The results showed that SDN 003 Bontang Utara was in Quadrant II (Unfocused Implementation) with input and products not yet meeting standards. SDN 010 Bontang Selatan is in Quadrant I (Dropout Implementation) with all aspects rated negative. Recommendations include strengthening the implementation of inclusive programs in SDN 003 and comprehensive improvements in SDN 010, including teacher training, provision of facilities, and intensive assistance from the government to build better inclusive education.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman manajerial kepala sekolah ditingkat pendidikan dasar dan menengah. Sasaran utama dari kegiatan ini adalah seluruh kepala sekolah pada jenjang pendidikan dasar dan menengah yang ada di kota Samarinda. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah sosialisasi dengan tahapan penyampaian materi, praktik manajerial dan pendampingan. Hasil kegiatan PkM ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman kepala sekolah yang ditunjukkan dari hasil pretest dengan rata-rata skor 55 kemudian meningkat menjadi skor rata-rata 85 pada protest. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa sosialisasi manajerial kepala sekolah tidak hanya berkontribusi pada peningkatan kompetensi individual, tetapi juga memberikan dampak sistemik terhadap peningkatan kualitas pengelolaan sekolah. Keberhasilan ini diharapkan dapat mendorong pelaksanaan kegiatan serupa di masa depan dengan pendekatan yang lebih terintegrasi dan berbasis kebutuhan.

Abstract

Trends in Arabic language course program management continue to evolve in response to the increasingly dynamic learning demands of the globalization era. Amidst technological advancements and pedagogical transformations, course program management faces the challenge of remaining relevant and effective in addressing learners' needs. This study aims to analyze trends in Arabic language course management research through a systematic literature review. The main focus of the research includes three aspects: the main trends in Arabic language course management research, the strategies often used, and the relevance of these trends to future program development. Based on the analysis of 15 publications consisting of 13 journal articles, 1 master's thesis, and 1 undergraduate thesis, it was found that research trends concentrated on organizing, planning, implementing, evaluating programs, and using modern technology. Most of the studies used a descriptive qualitative approach to in-depth explore the internal dynamics of course institutions. The results show that frequently used management strategies include top-down approaches in organizing, integrated program planning, utilization of technology, innovative learning methods such as Mustaqili and Quality Function Deployment (QFD), and collaboration-based management. Moreover, the relevance of these trends to the future development of course programs confirms the importance of strategic planning, continuous evaluation, technology adoption, and visionary leadership to face global challenges. This research contributes to developing Arabic language course management theory and practice by offering strategic guidelines that educational institutions can implement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the utilization of diagnostic data from the Indonesian Madrasah Competency Assessment (AKMI) in curriculum development in Samarinda City. Amid the challenges of globalization and the need to prepare a high-quality young generation, responsive and adaptive education management has become increasingly crucial. AKMI, as a comprehensive assessment evaluating students' competencies in reading literacy, numeracy, science, and socio-cultural aspects, provides highly valuable data for improving education quality. This research adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data from AKMI diagnostics conducted between 2021 and 2024 with qualitative data gathered through interviews and observations with stakeholders in Samarinda City. The findings indicate that AKMI data can be used to identify students' strengths and weaknesses across various competencies, which can then serve as the foundation for designing more adaptive and evidence-based curricula. As a recommendation, curriculum development strategies in Samarinda City should focus on improving numeracy and science literacy, while strengthening the already solid achievements in reading and socio-cultural literacy. This study is expected to provide guidance for developing curricula that are more responsive to students' needs and enhance the quality of learning in madrasah.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the Youth and Sports Office's (DISPORA) role in enhancing sports achievements in East Kalimantan. Sports play an important role not only in maintaining physical fitness but also as a means to elevate the dignity of individuals, groups, and nations. Sports achievements, often measured by medals, result from a development process that begins at an early age. Therefore, collaboration between the government, educational institutions, and sports organizations is essential to creating synergy in the management and development of sports. This research uses a descriptive approach with observation, interviews, and documentation studies to collect data on the existing sports development system in East Kalimantan. The findings show that DISPORA plays a role in various aspects of sports development, from promoting sports to discovering talented athletes to providing adequate facilities and infrastructure. The development involves educational, achievement, and recreational sports, which complement each other in creating a healthy sports ecosystem. However, challenges such as the limited number and quality of sports educators, inadequate facilities, and funding constraints pose barriers to developing an effective sports development system. Therefore, improvements in the recruitment and training of educators, the development of sports facilities, and more efficient allocation of funding are needed to ensure the sustainability of sports development programs. With the proper steps, sports achievements in East Kalimantan can improve, producing athletes who compete at national and international levels and building a healthier and more accomplished society.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini mendeskripsikan 1) perencanaan, 2) pengorganisasian, 3) pelaksanaan, dan 4) evaluasi manajemen projek penguatan profil pelajar pancasila berbasis kearifan lokal di sekolah penggerak kota Bontang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman (pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penegasan kesimpulan). Uji keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi data teknik dan sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 1) perencanaan P5 diawali membentuk tim fasilitator P5, mengidentifikasi kesiapan sekolah, mengalokasikan waktu, menentukan dimensi (beriman bertakwa kepada Tuhan YME dan berakhlak mulia, kebhinekaan global, gotong royong dan kreatif) dan tema (bhinneka tunggal ika, gaya hidup berkelanjutan, dan kewirausahaan) yang berbasis kearifan lokal kota Bontang, perancangan modul projek  dan strategi pelaporan P5; 2) pengorganisasian P5 dilaksanakan bersama koordinator P5 bersama tim pelaksana P5 setiap jenjang kelas, membagi tugas dan tanggung jawab, penyusunan modul dan jadwal P5, pengelolaan kelas dan  keterlibatan pihak terkait; 3) pelaksanaan  P5 dilaksanakan sesuai alur pelaksanaan di modul projek, setiap tim pelaksana memastikan keterlibatan dan partisipasi aktif setiap peserta didik, tahap pelaksanaan P5 diakhir dengan pesta hasil karya peserta didik serta berkoordinasi dan kolaborasi bersama orang tua dan pihak terkait; 4) evaluasi P5 dilaksanakan oleh tim pelaksana dan fasilitator P5 yang menilai setiap proses pelaksanaanya. Hasil evaluasi dan pelaporan P5 ditekankan pada proses bukan pada hasil projek. Dapat disimpulkan manajemen P5  di SD Negeri 001 Bontang Utara  yang berbasis kearifan lokal kota Bontang terlaksana secara optimal dengan berkolaborasi dan koordinasi yang baik dari semua pihak dalam manajemen P5.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought major changes to people's lives, including increasing access to online gambling, especially among teenagers. This study aims to analyze the role of the family environment in preventing adolescent involvement in online gambling in Balikpapan. Using a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, this research explores the factors of communication, supervision and emotional support from parents in shaping adolescent behavior towards online gambling. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, observation and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman technique. The research results show that open communication within the family, active supervision, and strong emotional support play a significant role in preventing adolescent involvement in online gambling. Conversely, permissive parenting and lack of parental control increase the risk of online gambling addiction. This study highlights the important role of families in creating a conducive environment for adolescent development as well as the need for education for parents in supervising their children's digital activities. The results of this research are also in line with the parenting style theory developed by Baumrind, which distinguishes between authoritative, authoritarian and permissive parenting styles. The implications of this research provide recommendations for stakeholders to strengthen family-based interventions in preventing the negative impacts of online gambling on adolescents

Abstract

BARRIERS AND SOLUTIONS IN THE EVALUATION OF THE SMK CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE PROGRAMME AT PUBLIC SMK IN BALIKPAPAN CITY The purpose of this research is to find out the inhibiting factors as well as the solution to overcome the inhibiting factors of SMK Centre of Excellence programme at SMK Negeri Kota Balikpapan. This research uses qualitative approach with data collection through interview, observation, and documents. The results show that the programme is able to improve the competence of graduates to match the needs of the business world and the industrial world. However, there are still some obstacles, such as the lack of co-operation with the industry, limited school facilities, and the lack of curriculum alignment with industry needs. To overcome this, improvement steps are needed such as strengthening relationships with industry, improving school facilities, and aligning the curriculum with industry needs. With these steps, it is hoped that the programme can run better and help graduates become more work-ready.
