Abstract

School-Based Management (SBM) is an educational management approach that grants schools autonomy to manage resources and make independent decisions by involving principals, teachers, parents, and the community to improve education quality. This study aims to describe the implementation of SBM at Linggang Bigung Public Senior High School as a strategic effort to enhance school quality. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, the research focuses on the planning, implementation, evaluation, and supervision processes of SBM at SMAN 1 and SMAN 2 Linggang Bigung. Data were collected through interviews with principals, teachers, students, and parents, as well as through documentation analysis related to SBM implementation. The findings indicate that the implementation of SBM successfully created a learning environment more relevant to the needs of students and the community, while also increasing transparency and accountability in school management. Evaluations conducted at both schools showed significant achievements in academic performance and student character development. However, follow-up actions on evaluation results still require optimization, particularly in strengthening corrective measures and improving facilities and infrastructure. Furthermore, the principals’ leadership, characterized by adaptive and transformational styles, effectively motivated teachers and staff to innovate in teaching practices. In conclusion, active participation from all stakeholders—including teachers, students, parents, and school committees plays a crucial role in reinforcing SBM implementation, which in turn contributes to comprehensive improvements in education quality.

Abstract

The use of SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis is a crucial tool in identifying and understanding the competitive position of a school. This research aims to describe the principal's strategy based on SWOT analysis in improving the quality of Muara Badak Integrated Islamic Elementary School. This research used a qualitative approach with a case study method conducted through interviews, observation, and documentation. The research results using SWOT analysis show that SDIT (Sekolah Dasar Islam Terpadu, Integrated Islamic Elementary School) Muara Badak improves the quality of education by 1) utilizing internal strengths systematically through the principal's leadership, which involves teachers, committees, and parents in policymaking; 2) the foundation provides financial support and resources without operational intervention, while the committee and parents actively contribute to school funding and activities; 3) the principal addresses administrative weaknesses by focusing on learning outcomes using clear guidance books and postponing the use of risky technology; 4) the school also leverages its position as the only integrated Islamic school in the region by strengthening branding through social media and teachers' role modeling of Islamic values. The threat of a less strategic location is overcome by providing school shuttle services, increasing parents' trust and the number of registrants; 5) routine evaluations and strengthening teachers' spirituality through reciting activities and close collaboration between the foundation, committees, and parents are key to the success of continuous quality improvement. Research recommendations include conducting comparative studies to identify best practices by comparing SDIT Muara Badak with other schools and developing an implementation model for a SWOT-based quality improvement strategy that can be widely applied by considering each school's context

Abstract

Pesantren-based curriculum management is a blend of the national curriculum and the foundation’s curriculum, administered within an educational management system to provide continuous knowledge acquisition in both general sciences and Islamic studies. This study aims to describe the pesantren-based curriculum management, covering planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation at Al Azhar 46 Kindergarten, Samarinda. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method through a case study approach, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation, with data validity ensured through source triangulation. The findings reveal that: 1) Curriculum planning at Al Azhar 46 Kindergarten begins with an analysis of community needs, emphasizing religious education based on adab (Islamic manners) to instill religious and moral values from an early age. The curriculum is formulated on the philosophical foundation of the Qur’an and Hadith to ensure religious content aligns with Islamic teachings. 2) The pesantren-based curriculum development highlights tahfizh (Qur’an memorization) classes and adab learning, implemented continuously from kindergarten through junior high school to nurture noble character from an early age. 3) Curriculum management implementation at Al Azhar 46 Kindergarten is conducted through structured planning that integrates the national and religious curricula in a balanced manner. The learning process emphasizes teacher role modeling, habituation of religious values, and employs tahfizh methods such as Alsam and Tilawati. 4) The evaluation of pesantren-based curriculum management is carried out regularly and systematically, including annual work meetings, semester coordination meetings, and program evaluations every three months. 5) The implementation of pesantren-based curriculum management at Al Azhar 46 Kindergarten positively impacts the quality of learning. The curriculum management has been executed systematically, adhering to the functions of curriculum management through the development of technical guidelines and integrative modules that facilitate the balanced implementation of both the national and pesantren curricula

Abstract

Inclusive education is an educational system that ensures equity and equality for all students, including those with special needs, within regular educational institutions. Although the implementation of inclusive education in schools is supported by legal frameworks and national policies, there remain gaps between the policy standards and actual practices in schools, including at SMA Negeri 1 Penajam Paser Utara. This study aims to: (1) describe the implementation of inclusive education policy at SMA Negeri 1 Penajam Paser Utara; (2) identify the barriers to its implementation; and (3) explore solutions to overcome these barriers. This research adopts a qualitative approach using an evaluation method. The findings reveal that: (1) the implementation of inclusive education policy at SMA Negeri 1 Penajam Paser Utara has not fully met the standards set by regulations; (2) the key barriers include the availability of special education teachers, initial assessments, infrastructure, and funding; and (3) proposed solutions involve strengthening resources, improving programs, and requesting additional funding. Inclusive education is expected to be implemented more effectively through systematic and comprehensive improvements at the school level, thereby providing fair and equal services to all students, including those with special needs.

Abstract

This study utilizes a descriptive qualitative method, selected because it allows an in-depth exploration of the collaboration between vocational education and the shipping industry from multiple perspectives. Data collection through interviews, observations, and document analysis provides a comprehensive understanding of the processes, experiences, and challenges involved in enhancing the internship competencies of shipping students at SMK Negeri 8 Samarinda. This approach is well-suited to capturing the complex interactions and dynamic relationships between the school and industry partners in real-world settings. The findings reveal a strong, collaborative framework where school leaders, teachers, and industry representatives work closely to design and implement an internship program that integrates both technical skills and essential soft skills required in maritime careers. The curriculum is regularly updated to align with national and international standards, and students receive preparatory training and certifications to ensure industry readiness. Supervision and mentoring during internships foster the development of skills and professionalism. Importantly, the dual evaluation system involving both the school and industry partners provides ongoing, actionable feedback that supports continuous program improvement. This study uniquely contributes by offering a detailed account of a successful, synergistic collaboration model specifically tailored to vocational maritime education, addressing a gap in prior research that often generalizes education-industry partnerships. It highlights the integration of soft skills within technical training and emphasizes the value of collaborative program evaluation, which together significantly enhance student competence and preparedness for the maritime workforce. By documenting these innovative practices in the Indonesian vocational education context, this research provides valuable insights and a replicable model for other maritime schools aiming to improve internship effectiveness through meaningful industry collaboration

Abstract

Permasalahan keberagaman kemampuan peserta didik dalam pembelajaran matematika di kelas XI-4 SMA Negeri 1 Samarinda menyebabkan ketimpangan partisipasi siswa selama kegiatan belajar, terutama ketika diterapkan diskusi kelompok heterogen. Siswa berkemampuan tinggi cenderung mendominasi, sementara siswa berkemampuan sedang dan rendah menjadi pasif. Hal ini berdampak pada rendahnya keterlibatan dan pencapaian hasil belajar secara merata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas proses dan hasil belajar matematika melalui implementasi pendekatan Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) yang dipadukan dengan strategi diferensiasi proses dan konten. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kurt Lewin yang terdiri dari empat tahapan: perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 37 peserta didik kelas XI-4, sedangkan objek penelitian adalah proses pembelajaran matematika pada materi statistika regresi. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa asesmen diagnostik kognitif untuk pemetaan awal kemampuan siswa, Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berdiferensiasi, serta asesmen formatif untuk mengukur hasil belajar tiap siklus. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi dan tes, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif untuk melihat peningkatan capaian belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam keterlibatan dan hasil belajar siswa setelah penerapan TaRL. Jumlah siswa dalam kategori “kurang” menurun drastis, sementara kategori “baik” dan “sangat baik” meningkat pada siklus II. Refleksi tindakan menunjukkan bahwa pengelompokan homogen berbasis kemampuan awal, disertai LKPD yang disesuaikan, mampu menciptakan pembelajaran yang inklusif, adaptif, dan responsif terhadap kebutuhan belajar siswa. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menguatkan pentingnya pembelajaran berdiferensiasi sebagai pendekatan yang berkeadilan dan mampu mengoptimalkan potensi peserta didik secara merata.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya minat dan pemahaman siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika yang cenderung membosankan karena metode pembelajaran yang masih monoton dan minim pemanfaatan media berbasis teknologi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat kelayakan media pembelajaran berbasis android yang dikembangkan untuk siswa kelas XI pada materi matriks. Pada proses pengembangan media menggunakan metodologi Penelitian dan Pengembangan (R & D) menerapkan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implemetation, Evaluation) sebagai upaya memastikan produk yang dikembangkan sistematis dan proses penilaian yang komprehensif. Produk yang telah dirancang kemudian dinilai oleh dua guru matematika, divalidasi oleh dua dosen yang ahli dalam materi dan media, serta diuji coba pada lima puluh lima siswa dari kelas XI B dan XI E. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan meliputi kuesioner dan protokol wawancara. Setelah itu, data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produk yang dikembangkan mendapatkan skor rerata 3,6 berkriteria layak berdasarkan penilaian ahli materi, skor rerata 3,5 berkriteria layak berdasarkan penilaian ahli media, dan skor rerata 4,2 berkriteria sangat layak berdasarkan penilaian guru, serta skor rata-rata 3,4 berdasarkan tanggapan siswa, sehingga total skor keseluruhan adalah 3,7. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan media ajar berbasis Android berbantuan I-Spring dalam pengajaran matematika mampu meningkatkan motivasi, partisipasi, dan memberikan hasil yang baik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) strategi kepemimpinan kepala sekolah SMA Budi Luhur Samarinda dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru; dan (2) keefektifan strategi kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru di SMA Budi Luhur Samarinda. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan hasil wawancara, dapat disimpulkan hal berikut. Pertama, strategi kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru, yaitu (a) mampu meningkatkan kinerja guru agar tujuan dapat tercapai secara efektif dan efisien, (b) menjalankan tugasnya dalam melaksanakan proses belajar mengajar, (c) mampu mengarahkan peserta didik dalam proses belajar mengajar untuk mencapai tujuan pendidikan, (d) mampu mengevaluasi peserta didik dalam pembelajaran, dan (e) memiliki sikap dan kepribadian yang baik dalam menunjukkan keteladanan. Kedua, keefektifan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru, yaitu (a) membangun visi, misi dan menetapkan nilai-nilai terbaik untuk peningkatan kinerja, (b) membentuk komunikasi yang dapat mendorong umpan balik, (c) membangun komitmen guru untuk meningkatkan kinerja, dan (d) meningkatkan lingkungan sekolah yang merangsang kinerja tinggi. Untuk melaksanakan ini, kepala sekolah harus memiliki sikap dan kepribadian serta menjadi motor penggerak untuk menciptakan suasana kerja yang kondusif sehingga dapat meningkatkan kinerja guru.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menyelidiki metode yang digunakan kepala sekolah untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan dengan menerapkan Manajemen Berbasis Sekolah (MBS) di SMA Negeri 2 Sendawar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami fungsi kepala sekolah dalam mendukung pengembangan profesional guru, pembinaan siswa, optimalisasi sarana dan prasarana, serta kolaborasi dengan orang tua dan komite sekolah. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif yang mengumpulkan data melalui observasi, dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Menurut hasil penelitian, kepala sekolah menggunakan strategi yang mencakup pengawasan informal melalui pemantauan langsung kegiatan belajar-mengajar, serta pengawasan formal melalui rapat koordinasi. Optimalisasi fasilitas seperti ruang belajar dan laboratorium menjadi prioritas utama. Kepala sekolah juga mendorong kerja bersama komite sekolah dan orang tua melalui program "Kelas Inspirasi" dan forum paguyuban kelas. Tantangan yang dihadapi meliputi keterbatasan sistem penjaminan mutu, variasi komitmen guru, dan rendahnya partisipasi pihak eksternal. Sebagai solusi, kepala sekolah menggunakan pendekatan personal untuk meningkatkan motivasi guru, melakukan evaluasi berkala, dan membangun komunikasi intensif dengan pihak terkait. Studi ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan yang digunakan oleh kepala sekolah berkontribusi pada peningkatan kualitas pendidikan, akademik dan non-akademik dan merekomendasikan penguatan pelatihan serta pemanfaatan teknologi untuk keberlanjutan manajemen berbasis sekolah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan mengetahui kelayakan media pembelajaran berbasis Android pada pengenalan nama hewan di taman kanak negeri 10 samarinda. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R &D) dengan model pengembangan PPE yang terdiri tiga tahap, yaitu Planning, Production, Evaluation. Pada tahap analisis dilakukan studi literature dan studi lapangan, kemudian memproduksi media dengan membuat flowchart, dan storyboard, kemudian membuat media tersebut sesuai dengan desain yang telah dibuat. Tahap akhir ialah evaluasi dimana media divalidasi oleh guru mata pelajaran sebagai ahli materi dan 3 orang ahli validasi media untuk melihat kelayakan media serta membuat laporan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus 2020. Hasil dari penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukan bahwa media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan layak untuk di gunakan sebagai media pembelajaran yang layak untuk digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran pada materi pembelajaran pengenalan nama hewan dibuktikan dengan persentase dari validasi ahli materi memperoleh kelayakan 87%, validasi kelayakan ahli media 97,33% dan valiadasi siswa memperoleh 68,2% Berdasarkan uraian di atas maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran ini dikembangkan dengan model pengembangan PPE (Planning,Production, and Evaluation) dengan teknik pengumpulan data studi lapangan, studi literature dan angket yang dianalisis secara deskriptif oleh para ahli dinyatakan bahwa media pembelajaran Android ini Sangat Layak untuk di gunakan.
