Abstract

The quality of credit and financing provided by rural banks plays a crucial role in determining the continuity of income and interest, ultimately impacting profitability. This study aims to analyse the financial performance dynamics and the factors influencing the profitability of rural banks in West Java, Indonesia during the COVID-19 pandemic by examining the financial reports for the period March 2019 to December 2020 from 26 sampled rural banks. The research employed a multiple linear regression method with REM estimation. Despite the challenging circumstances of the pandemic, the ROA, CAR, and equity values of the rural banks analysed still met the minimum standards set by Bank Indonesia at 1.5%, 8%, and IDR 6 billion, respectively, while the NPL values exceeded the maximum standard of 5%, whereas the NPL values exceeded the maximum standards. The combined factors of CAR, NPL, equity, net income, and the COVID-19 pandemic collectively influence profitability. Specifically, NPL and the COVID-19 pandemic have a significantly negative effect, while net income has a significantly positive effect on profitability. The policy implication that can be implemented to support the resilience of rural banks during crisis are strengthening capital buffer, tightening credit policies, implementing good governance practices, and improving operational cost efficiency. Abstract

Capital structure was a structure that contained a combination of debt and company capital to support operational activities, so this was a concern for company management, including companies in the transportation and logistics sector. Transportation and logistics sector companies had an important role in the country's economy in that they moved goods or passengers from one place to another. However, there were companies in the transportation and logistics sector that had high levels of debt but could record profits, while there were companies that had low levels of debt but suffered losses. Therefore, the aim of this research was to describe the dynamics of capital structure and financial performance and analyze the influence of capital structure on the financial performance of companies in the transportation and logistics sector. This study used 18 samples of transportation and logistics sector companies using purposive sampling technique. The analytical method used was descriptive analysis and panel data regression. The results of this research showed that capital structure as proxied by the level of debt (Debt to Assets Ratio (DAR), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), Short Term Debt (STD)) had a negative influence on the company's financial performance as proxied by the Return On Assets (ROA) ratio. Meanwhile, the effect of capital structure proxied by retained earnings variable had a positive effect on ROA. Abstract

An initial public offering (IPO) decision always had financial, accounting, and operational ramifications for the company. After an IPO, however, a company's performance typically declined, whereas there should have been an improvement in the company's performance when it went public. Good corporate performance could also be reflected in the company's financial performance. The purpose of this study was to compare the financial performance of companies before and after their initial public offerings (IPO). The research sample consisted of 31 companies that had an initial public offering in 2019, with financial reporting data from three years prior to the IPO and three years after the IPO. The methods of analysis employed were descriptive analysis and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. After an initial public offering, the overall financial ratios examined in the study varied significantly. After their IPOs, the companies' performance declined (Return On Asset (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), Debt to Assets Ratio (DAR), Debt To Equity Ratio (DER), Total Assets Turnover (TATO), and GR). After an IPO, only the CR grew in value. Keywords: financial performance, go public, Initial Public Offering (IPO), stock market, wilcoxon signed rank test

Abstract

The availability of Detailed Spatial Plans (RDTR) is crucial for supporting development implementation and ease of doing business. However, there are still problems in the preparation of RDTR, necessitating acceleration. Regarding this acceleration, it is necessary to analyze how participatory and collaborative planning methods can play a role. Participatory and collaborative approaches are important because public trust and stakeholder relationships in participatory and collaborative planning influence the implementation process and planning outcomes. This study aims to identify the relationships between implementing actors and stakeholders involved in the preparation of RDTR so that they can be optimized with a participatory and collaborative approach. The research methods used are Social Network Analysis (SNA), Organizational Network Analysis (ONA), and post-review surveys. The results show that the relationships between implementing actors and stakeholders related to RDTR preparation are not yet optimal, therefore requiring remapping and rearrangement within the legal framework. Participatory and collaborative approaches will elaborate the possibility of more effective and efficient relationships with changes in roles and media of interaction. Abstract

Starch is more easily converted to sugars and fermented into ethanol. To increase ethanol productivity, a high-gravity fermentation method was developed. Sago trees are starch-producing that do not compete with food crops, but conventional processing has a negative impact on the environment. An alternative technology to minimize environmental impact is dry fractionation, product characteristics are suitable for ethanol production. Analysis of the effectiveness the processing of sago pith and the use of products for ethanol has never been published, so the analysis is carried out based on vertical differences in stem parts and determination of the optimum conditions of the ethanol production using sago starch-rich flour. Yield, starch recovery, starch ennrichment and shift starch are observational variables for the analysis of dry fractionation effectiveness. Starch-rich flour from the results of dry fractionation of each group of stem parts is mixed with a uniform composition and used as a fermentation medium. The one factor at a time (OFAT) experiment design was used to determine the effect of variables on optimal response, and verification is carried out. The distribution of starch granule size, starch content and parenchyma fiber characteristics can affect the effectiveness . Ethanol productivity showed optimum results at liquifaction 80oC for 60 minutes, using simultaneous saccharification and fermentation (SSF), high gravity fermentation and self-flocating yeast. The application of dry fractionation technology to obtain ethanol raw materials from sago trees has the potential to increase the added value of sago cultivation and the economic value of ethanol to be more competitive.
