Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground:  Mental health issues, including anxiety and sadness, are exacerbated by changes in social life. Mood and anxiety disorders, such as depression, may strike pregnant women more often than other women. In light of the current COVID-19 epidemic, this research seeks to determine what variables impact the occurrence of depressive and anxious symptoms in pregnant women. Methods:  This study made use of analytical observational research methods. In the year 2021, primary data was collected from November 1st to the 28th. To collect data, we went to seven different obstetrics clinics and handed out paper questionnaires and online surveys. This study makes use of three distinct measures: the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), the Fear of COVID-19 Scale (FCV-19S), and the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI).Results:  Results showed that out of 308 pregnant women in Palembang, 13.0% had mild depression, 5.2% moderate, and 1.6% severe symptoms. Also, 41.9% of people took part in the study; among them, 31.5% experienced mild to moderate anxiety, 9.1% reported moderate to severe anxiety, and 1.3% reported severe anxiety. In the bivariate analysis, a strong correlation was found between the age of pregnant women and depressive symptoms, a significant association was found between packaging symptoms and abortion history, and a significant association was found between anxiety symptoms and fear related to COVID-19. We found statistically significant connections with all of these variables. Conclusions:  The study's results demonstrated a link between maternal age and depressive symptoms, as well as a history of abortion and anxious symptoms. The research participants also reported higher rates of anxiety and despair when they were afraid of contracting the COVID-19 virus. This highlights the critical need of mental health treatment in this context.

Abstract

This research examines various scholarly works that discuss the use of songs in English language teaching (ELT), focusing on their pedagogical benefits and theoretical foundations. The main objective of this research is to identify how songs support language acquisition from linguistic, cognitive and affective perspectives. The research used a systematic literature review method, with a qualitative content analysis approach and narrative synthesis of ten selected sources published between 2000 and 2024. The analysis shows that songs can improve students' vocabulary acquisition, pronunciation, grammar awareness, motivation and emotional engagement. These findings are reinforced by various learning theories such as Krashen's Affective Filter Hypothesis, Gardner's Multiple Intelligences Theory, and Vygotsky's Zone of Proximal Development. Although songs proved to be an effective tool in teaching English, some challenges were also identified, such as curriculum limitations, lack of teacher training, and inappropriate song selection. This study concludes that songs are a powerful learning medium if applied carefully and adapted to the context. It also recommends further development of structured and theory-based song-based teaching materials and teacher training to support their effective implementation in the classroom.

Abstract

Petai (Parkia speciosa Hassk) is a multi-purpose tree species (MPTS) that offers a sustainable solution for perennial cultivation in the Besitang District, within the Gunung Leuser National Park (GLNP) area, particularly in regions currently dominated by oil palm plantations. This study aims to obtain the dose of chicken manure briquettes and watering interval that produce the best growth of Petai seedlings. This study used a Factorial Completely Randomised Design (F-CRD) with observation parameters of height, diameter, number of leaves, shoot fresh weight, root fresh weight and shoot and root dry weight. The results showed that the interaction of manure briquette dose treatment and watering interval showed significant results on height, diameter, number of leaves, shoot fresh weight, shoot dry weight, and root dry weight but no significant effect found on the root fresh weight of Petai plants. The treatment 1 kg briquettes and watering every three days gave the best results in the parameters of height (15.57 cm), diameter increase (0.34 cm), number of leaves (103 strands), shoot fresh weight (39.96 grams), shoot dry weight (33.24 grams) and root dry weight (21.98 grams). Therefore, it is recommended to apply organic chicken manure briquette fertilizer at a dose of 1kg and watering frequency of once every three days for the preparation of Petai seedlings to planting in Besitang District

Abstract

This study aims to examine the various challenges encountered by PT. Bangun Mitra Persada in its efforts to digitize project cost recording processes. Despite handling large-scale construction projects worth billions, the company still relies on manual data entry through Microsoft Excel. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were gathered through semi-structured interviews, limited field observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal three primary obstacles to digitalization: limited human resource capabilities, a perception that the current business scale does not justify digital systems, and the prevalence of inefficiencies and errors within the manual process. The research highlights that the barriers to digital adoption are not solely technical but also deeply rooted in organizational readiness and internal work culture. Conceptually, the study extends the application of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Organizational Readiness theory within the context of small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the construction sector. Practically, it provides actionable insights for system developers and policymakers in designing adaptive and field-relevant digital transformation strategies.
