Abstract

Children with intellectual disabilities are those who face challenges in their intellectual development, which is below average. To ensure they receive the same educational rights, inclusive learning systems have been introduced in the educational world. This study aims to describe the implementation of inclusive education for children with intellectual disabilities in Islamic Religious Education subjects and to identify the challenges in implementing inclusive education for these children. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach, involving observation, interviews, and document analysis to collect data. The researcher then performs data reduction, presents the data, and draws/validates conclusions. The research was conducted at Al Firdaus Junior High School in Sukoharjo. The research findings indicate that teachers implement inclusive learning by entirely modifying the curriculum for children with intellectual disabilities. Modifications were made in three areas: content, process, and product. The challenges faced by Islamic Religious Education teachers include when children with intellectual disabilities experience bad moods, emotional tantrums, and difficulties with content that is too challenging for them.

Abstract

This study aims to examine in depth the various strategic roles of school principals in the context of Islamic schools, especially in improving the quality of educator performance and strengthening educational governance based on Islamic values. The method used in this study is a literature review, by examining various recent scientific journals in the period 2019–2024. The results of the study show that school principals have various important roles, namely as managers, innovators, communicators, academic supervisors, motivators, and role models. In their role as managers, school principals are responsible for teacher development planning, monitoring, and periodic evaluation of educator performance. As innovators, school principals encourage teachers to innovate in learning and be adaptive to new technologies and methods. The role of communicator is also important, where the principal is expected to build effective and assertive communication with teachers in order to foster trust and loyalty. In terms of academic supervision, the principal functions as a mentor in implementing effective and reflective learning. Internal challenges such as limited funds and teacher motivation, as well as the influence of foundation management, are obstacles that need to be overcome with collaborative solutions and strengthening synergy between the principal, teachers, and the foundation. Meanwhile, external challenges in the form of competition with public schools and the globalization of education require adaptive and innovative strategies. This study recommends the use of technology, the formation of a professional network of Islamic teachers, and reward and punishment-based evaluation as strategic approaches in improving the quality of Islamic education. With visionary and value-based leadership, the principal plays a central role in making Islamic schools superior and competitive institutions.

Abstract

Abstract

Islamic education is undergoing significant transformation due to the increasing adoption of contemporary educational trends, including digital learning, competency-based education, and interdisciplinary curriculum reform. However, balancing these modern educational advancements with the preservation of Islamic pedagogical values remains a challenge. This study employs a semi-systematic literature review to analyze the impact of contemporary trends on Islamic education, highlighting key challenges and strategic opportunities. The research synthesizes findings from peer-reviewed journal articles and academic databases, focusing on three core areas: (1) technology integration in Islamic education, (2) curriculum reform and pedagogical innovations, and (3) institutional policies and educator development. The findings reveal that while digital learning enhances accessibility and engagement, infrastructure limitations, digital literacy gaps, and concerns over content authenticity persist. Additionally, resistance to interdisciplinary curriculum reform poses challenges to achieving a balanced educational approach. Institutional policies and educator training programs play a crucial role in addressing these challenges by promoting competency-based learning, professional development for teachers, and digital infrastructure expansion. The novelty of this study lies in its comparative analysis of policy interventions and technological advancements in Islamic education across different regional contexts. This research contributes to the discourse on Islamic education modernization by offering a framework for sustainable reforms that respect Islamic values. Future research should explore longitudinal assessments of digital learning outcomes, empirical studies on policy implementation, and the role of artificial intelligence in Islamic pedagogy.

Abstract

This study aims to compare two Qur'an reading methods implemented in different institutions: the Asy Syifa' Method at Alima Quran House and the Dirosa Method at the Omah Ngaji Berbagi Community Islamic Boarding School. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the research explores how each method is implemented, identifies their respective strengths and weaknesses, and assesses their impact on students' Qur'an reading abilities. Data collection involved direct observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and documentation of learning activities. The research subjects consisted of students and instructors from both institutions. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Findings indicate that the Asy Syifa' Method has a structured, level-based curriculum (Tahsin A–D) supported by regular evaluations such as mid- and end-semester tests. This method effectively enhances students' accuracy in reading the Qur'an, particularly in mastering tajweed and makhrajul huruf. In contrast, the Dirosa Method provides a simpler and more time-efficient learning experience, comprising only 20 sessions, making it suitable for adult beginners aiming to quickly gain basic Qur'an reading skills. However, this method lacks systematic evaluation and in-depth tajweed instruction. In conclusion, both methods offer distinct advantages depending on the learners’ needs: the Asy Syifa' Method suits those seeking structured, in-depth mastery, while the Dirosa Method benefits those requiring flexible, rapid learning. These findings are expected to inform educators and Islamic learning institutions in selecting appropriate Qur'an teaching methods based on their students’ profiles and learning objectives

Abstract

Paska reformasi Mei 1998 virus sekolah unggul menjangkiti pengelola sekolah Muhammadiyah.
