Abstract

Abstract

As the digital revolution continues to redefine global education, Islamic Higher Education (IHE) institutions in Indonesia face the dual challenge of integrating modern technology with traditional religious instruction. This study explores how digital learning environments can harmonize with Islamic pedagogical values to shape student satisfaction in online learning. Guided by Albert Bandura’s social cognitive theory, this research investigates the psychosocial and contextual factors influencing satisfaction and perceived learning outcomes among students in faith-based online education. A total of 3,270 undergraduate students from four IHE institutions participated in this study. Using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS), we developed a novel integrative model that incorporates conventional online learning dimensions—such as teacher support, content adaptability, student interaction, and perceived ease of use—alongside embedded Islamic values. The analysis reveals that Islamic values are the most dominant factor influencing student satisfaction, surpassing even technological usability. Teacher support significantly enhances metacognitive skills, reinforces faith-based values, and increases overall satisfaction. Additionally, the availability of virtual laboratory resources and adaptive content was found to moderate the relationship between psychosocial factors and learning outcomes. This research contributes a faith-integrated theoretical framework for understanding online learning in religious educational settings, a relatively underexplored domain. It explains 72.8% of the variance in student satisfaction, offering robust insights for curriculum designers, educators, and policymakers aiming to optimize Islamic online education. The study opens new pathways for cross-cultural research at the intersection of technology, pedagogy, and religious values in digital learning environments.

Abstract

This article examines the historical development of Islamic Studies from the classical, modern, to contemporary periods, with a particular focus on the figures and intellectual trends that have shaped the discipline over time. Islamic Studies did not emerge as a static field of knowledge, but rather evolved dynamically in response to social, political, cultural, and intellectual changes within the Muslim world. During the classical period, Islamic Studies were characterized by the formation of core Islamic disciplines such as Qur’anic exegesis, Hadith studies, jurisprudence, and theology, developed through normative and theological approaches by classical Muslim scholars. In the modern period, Islamic Studies experienced significant paradigm shifts as responses to colonialism, modernization, and Western intellectual challenges, giving rise to reformist thinkers who emphasized rational, historical, and contextual approaches. In the contemporary period, Islamic Studies have increasingly adopted multidisciplinary perspectives, incorporating methods from the social sciences and humanities while engaging with global issues such as pluralism, gender, human rights, and democracy. This study employs a library research method using a historical-analytical approach to examine major works and ideas of prominent scholars in Islamic Studies. The findings indicate that the development of Islamic Studies reflects a continuous intellectual effort to interpret and contextualize Islamic teachings in accordance with changing historical realities. This article is expected to contribute to the academic discourse by providing a comprehensive overview of the intellectual map and future direction of Islamic Studies.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of tajwid learning in improving students' ability to read the Qur'an according to the rules, but in the field, various obstacles are still found such as differences in students' initial abilities, limited time, and low learning motivation. The study aims to describe the implementation of tajwid learning, identify the obstacles faced, and explain the teacher's efforts in overcoming these obstacles in class VIII.3 MTs Soleh Al-Mubarok, Tungkal Ulu District, West Tanjung Jabung Regency, Jambi Province. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research subjects include the principal, tajwid teachers, and class VIII.3 students. Data analysis is carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of tajwid learning is carried out through the planning stage, implementation with lecture methods, demonstrations, and reading practice, and evaluation. The obstacles faced include differences in student abilities, limited time, lack of independent practice, and low learning motivation. Teachers' efforts to overcome these obstacles are to provide individual guidance, increase reading practice, create a comfortable learning atmosphere, and establish cooperation with parents. This research has implications for the need to strengthen varied learning strategies and support from the school and family environment to increase the effectiveness of tajwid learning.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the high mortality rate of yellowfin tuna larvae rearing during the transition to the early juvenile stage, mainly due to cannibalism and collision with tank walls. Previous studies have shown that dark colors increase larval survival, while light colors reduce mortality in the juvenile phase, but there has been no approach that combines the two conditions. This study aims to evaluate the effect of color changes in the walls of the care tub on the growth and survival of larvae to the seed phase. Two treatments in this study : (A) black tank walls during the larval phase (D-0–D-15) followed by white walls during early juvenile rearing (D-16–D-30), and (B) continuously black tank walls throughout rearing as the control. The study was conducted with three replications using a completely randomized design (RAL). Larvae were reared in 6 m³ concrete tanks stocked with 90,000 eggs per tank and fed gradually with rotifers, copepod nauplii, grouper larvae, milkfish larvae, and milkfish fry, supported by standard hatchery water-quality management. The results showed that tank wall color did not significantly affect larval growth but had a significant effect on survival. Treatment B (black walls throughout rearing) produced a higher survival rate at D-30 (0,36 ± 0,06%) compared with Treatment A (0,20 ± 0,01%) with p<0.05. Meanwhile, the growth response shows no real difference Overall, maintaining fully black tank walls throughout the rearing period yielded better larval-to-seed survival, indicating that a darker visual environment reduces stress and mortality in early life stages of yellowfin tuna.
