Abstract

This study examines the impact of local coffee commodities and Community-Based Tourism (CBT) on tourist satisfaction in Nglinggo Tourism Village, emphasizing the mediating role of service quality. Adopting a quantitative explanatory design, the study collected data from 150 tourists through a structured Likert-scale questionnaire. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS software. The findings indicate that local commodities, CBT, and service quality each have a positive and significant effect on tourist satisfaction. Moreover, service quality serves as a crucial mediating variable that strengthens the relationship between local commodities, CBT, and satisfaction outcomes. These insights are valuable for destination managers, policymakers, and CBT practitioners seeking to improve service standards, empower local communities, and enhance visitor experiences in village-based tourism. The novelty of this study lies in positioning service quality as an intermediary variable that bridges the cultural-economic contributions of CBT and local products with tourist satisfaction—an approach not widely explored in previous research on educational tourism destinations.

Abstract

Customary law shapes South African and Indonesian culture and society. However, adopting customary marital law into national legal systems is difficult. These include value conflicts between regional traditions and positive law’s universal principles, such as recording marriages, protecting children, and ensuring gender equality. Within Indonesia’s legal system, customary law practices are not well accommodated. Customary law is acknowledged under South Africa’s constitution, however its application is fraught with difficulties. This study aims to (1) comprehend positive law and its correlation with customary marriage law, (2) analyze the difficulties of integrating customary marriage law with positive law in South Africa and Indonesia, and (3) evaluate the future prospects of this domain. The study’s findings and suggestions might foster a more equitable society and promote legislation that honors universal ideals and traditional customs. This comparative and qualitative study use normative legal techniques to analyze pertinent literature, legal concepts, and norms. This paper highlights the main barriers to merging positive and customary marriage legislation. Examples are administrative obstacles like marriage registration and customary norms that conflict with human rights. The proposed framework respects traditional values to uphold human rights and social fairness. Keywords include normative marriage law, positive law, social justice, gender equality, and legal integration.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and repair damage to the Fehlmann P18s milling machine No. 04 used in the Mechanical Laboratory of Polman Babel. The machine was inoperable due to electrical system failure and a malfunction in the Quick Tool Change System (QTCS). A Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) method using the 5 Why analysis was applied to identify the root causes. The investigation revealed failures in electrical components such as contactors, selector switches, push buttons, fuses, capacitors, and diodes caused by unstable current. Furthermore, the QTCS could not clamp the tool holder properly due to corrosion on spindle components, bearings, and housing. The repair process involved replacing and cleaning damaged parts, followed by re-testing including geometric and functional tests. The testing showed that the machine was successfully restored to its operational state and complied with geometric precision standards. As a preventive measure, a time-based preventive maintenance plan was developed for both the electrical system and the QTCS to avoid recurring failures. This project proves that the RCFA method is effective in analyzing machine issues systematically and comprehensively.
