Abstract

This study was conducted to address the problem of low student achievement in mathematics, which is attributed to the lack of appropriate instructional models and media. As a solution, the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model was employed, combined with the use of a "smart ladder" media within a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach. The main objective of this study was to determine the improvement in students’ mathematics learning outcomes before and after the implementation of the STAD model and smart ladder media. The study was conducted in two cycles. Data analysis results showed an improvement at each stage. In the pre-cycle phase, the students' average score was only 51.7. After implementing the first cycle, the average score increased to 65.8, although it had not yet met the minimum mastery criteria. Therefore, the study continued to the second cycle, which resulted in a significant improvement, with an average score of 80.4 and a 12% increase in mastery compared to the previous cycle. This achievement met the established mastery criteria, and the study was concluded at the second cycle. The conclusion of this study is that the application of the STAD model combined with the smart ladder media is proven to be effective in improving students’ mathematics learning outcomes. This approach is recommended as an alternative strategy for teaching mathematics in elementary schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui validitas dari penggunaan media Insektarirum dalam pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam di kelas 3 SDIT Al-Anwar Mayong. Metode penelitian ini yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R & D), yaitu Define, Design, Development and Disseminate.Teknik analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah guru kelas SDIT Al-Anwar Mayong sebanyak dua orang dan peserta didik sebanyak lima orang. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah observasi, wawancara dan kuisioner. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa lembar validasi media yang kemudian menghasilkan data skor validasi. Adapun aspek validasi meliputi materi, ilustrasi, kualitas dan tampilan, serta daya tarik. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran Insektarium pada materi siklus hidup hewan kelas 3 Sekolah Dasar valid untuk digunakan dengan presentase rata-rata nilai validasi sebesar 83,08 %.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis validitas media mobil bertenaga angin dalam meningkatkan pemahaman belajar siswa setelah penerapan media pembelajaran mobil bertenaga angin di kelas IV sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian jenis deskripsi kuantitatif dengan subjek penelitian 2 guru dan 3 siswa. Tahap penelitian dimulai dengan melakukan studi pendahuluan dan validasi. Pada tahap validasi, dilakukan dengan tujuan mengetahui kelayakan media yang dibuat. Validasi ini dilakukan oleh 2 ahli media. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan kuesioner. Hasil validasi oleh validator yaitu guru kelas IV sekolah dasar, validator pertama memberikan skor validasi dengan rerata skor 3,6 sementara validator kedua memberikan rerata skor 3,6. Dari kedua rerata tersebut, didapatkan rerata skor 3,6 yang berarti media mobil bertenaga angin layak untuk digunakan untuk mendukung proses pembelajaran. Berdasarkan analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa media mobil bertenaga angin dapat digunakan untuk menumbuhkan pemahaman siswa kelas IV sekolah pada materi perubahan bentuk energi

Abstract

This research aims to measure the influence of the Contextual Teaching and Learning learning model assisted by pop up book media in improving the thinking abilities of class VI students at SD N 1 Guwosobokerto, Welahan District, Jepara Regency. This research is a research with a pre-experimental design with the one group pretest-postrest research type. The pretest is to measure without treatment while the posttest is to measure after treatment. The sample in this study consisted of 18 students consisting of 9 male students and 9 female students. The research instrument in this study consists of 2 techniques, namely test techniques, namely pretest and posttest, while non-test techniques include observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique in this test uses a sample paired t-test with sig value results. (2-tailed) of 0.000 where for the sig value results. < 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05) then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, so it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 18 siswa yang terdiri dari 9 siswa laki-laki dan 9 siswa Perempuan. Instrument penelitian dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 teknik, yaitu teknik tes yaitu berupa pretest dan posttest sedangkan teknik nontes berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknis analisis data dalam pengujian ini menggunakan uji sample paired t-test dengan hasil nilai sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 dimana untuk hasil nilai sig. < 0,05 (0,000 <0,05) maka Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara nilai pretest dan posttest.

Abstract

Introduction/Main Objectives: The aim of this research is to describe the improvement in science and science learning outcomes for class VI students through the application of powtoon media. Powtoon media is media in the form of animated videos containing learning material. Research Methods: This research is classroom action research (PTK) which consists of 2 cycles, each cycle divided into two meetings, consisting of planning, implementation, observation, evaluation and reflection stages. The research subjects were class VI students, with data collection techniques using interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique uses qualitative descriptive statistical analysis and quantitative descriptive statistical analysis. Finding/Results: The results of the research showed an increase in science learning outcomes in the science understanding element, in cycle I classical completion reached 58% "Fair", the criteria in cycle II increased to 88% "Very Good" criteria. Meanwhile, in the process skills element, learning outcomes also increased from 60.5% "Fair" criteria in cycle I to 86.7% "Very Good" in cycle II. Conclusion: Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the Jigsaw learning model with the help of Powtoon media can improve students' science learning outcomes.

Abstract

Differences in students’ cognitive style aspects allow for differences in students’ conceptions of their understanding of Newton’s laws. This study aims to determine the profile of students’ conceptions in-depth based on their cognitive styles. This research used a qualitative method with a descriptive phenomenological design involving cognitive style tests with GEFT (Group Embedded Figured Test) on 30 students to be categorized based on their cognitive styles. From the 30 participants, three strongly field-dependent and three strongly field-independent students were selected. Six selected students were diagnosed using a four-tier diagnostic instrument for their understanding and conceptions. Semi-structured interviews were also conducted to investigate the students’ conceptions in depth. This study concludes that field-independent (FI) students frequently display an inclination toward analytical thinking by self-exploring. However, they frequently experience difficulties in analyzing concepts without a solid foundation in physics, which can result in certain theoretical misconceptions. Conversely, field-dependent (FD) students can receive a broader range of information but demonstrate difficulties in analytical tasks, such as interpreting graphs and establishing causal relationships between physical quantities, which can result in correlational misconceptions. To rectify this misconception, it is imperative to implement a bespoke pedagogical strategy that integrates efficacious elucidations, tangible exemplifications, structured scaffolding, inquiry, and methodical practical exercises.

Abstract

Studi ini berfokus pada hasil belajar kosa kata peserta didik, penelitian dilakuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar kata sederhana melalui media flash card. Subjek penelitian ini berjumlah 9 peserta didik yang berada di SDN 02 Singocandi Kudus di kelas I. Model pembelajaran yang digunakan berupa tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan 4 tahapan penelitian yang diggunakan berupa 1) Perencanaan , 2) Implmentasi, 3) Observasi, 4) Evaluasi. Indikator ketuntasan penelitian adalah pembelajaran memperoleh ketuntasan kalisikal >80%. Intrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa hasil belajar dan observasi selama pembelajaran dilakukan. Berdasarkan implementasi media flash card dapat dikethui peserta didik memiliki kemampuan yang tinggi terhadap materi kata sederhana, dari hasil pembelajaran diketahui jika terjadi peningkatan belajar peserta didik dari 44% meningkat menjadi 89%. Hal ini menunjuukan efektifitas media flashcard mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik dalam materi kata sederhana.

Abstract

The urgent need to deal with specific environmental changes globally has made us aware of the importance of environmental literacy skills to achieve new relationships with the environment. This study examines and discusses the development of prospective teachers' environmental literacy. It also seeks to link the findings of the educational environment and the environmental impact of pre-service teacher environmental literacy education to the SLR approach. The literature search was conducted online in the Scopus-indexed database with “environmental literacy” and “pre-service teacher” assisted with Publish or Perish software. Then, the search results found 48 articles, followed by a procedure that included Identification, Screening, Eligibility, and Inclusion for each article. Fourteen articles fit the category, so an in-depth analysis was carried out regarding the application of environmental literacy to the prospective teacher education curriculum. The findings show prospective teachers are primarily concerned with environmental issues; however, this emotional reasoning or treatment perspective does not always translate into engaging behaviors or actions. The complexity of environmental problems makes it difficult for prospective teachers to identify how to be involved in this environmental action. Environmental learning to develop environmental literacy can be applied to the curriculum of prospective teachers. Prospective teachers have enormous potential to influence, providing examples and being role models for students in protecting the surrounding environment.

Abstract

This research is motivated by monotonous learning using conventional models such as lectures and limited media usage, which can result in a lack of students' critical thinking skills.  The objective of this research is to enhance students' critical thinking skills in IPAS material by using the Problem Based Learning model and diorama media.  The Classroom Action Research method consists of 2 cycles with 2 meetings.  The research subjects in the fifth grade of SDN 3 Jurang for the 2023/2024 academic year consist of 17 students, with 8 male students and 9 female students.  The data analysis techniques used are quantitative and qualitative. Qualitative data were obtained through performance observation sheets, while quantitative data were obtained through evaluation tests. The results of the study showed significant achievements, with the assessment of students' critical thinking skills using the Problem Based Learning model and diorama media obtaining a score of 61.6 with a completion percentage of 35.3% in Cycle I, increasing to 80.9 with a completion percentage of 82.4% in Cycle II which means it is included in the Very Critical category. This study should allow teachers to apply the Problem Based Learning model and diorama media more interestingly through practice and group discussions, through this model students can improve critical thinking patterns in science learning.

Abstract

Self-regulated learning is a crucial competency that pre-service elementary teachers must possess, particularly in the face of the challenges of education in the digital era. This study aims to: (1) analyse the level and development of students' self-regulated learning (SRL), and (2) test the effectiveness of somatic, auditory, visual, and intellectual learning models based on technological pedagogical content knowledge in improving SRL. This study used a quasi-experimental design with an unequal control group. The sample consisted of 143 students in the Biophysics course. Data were collected through pre- and post-tests and an SRL questionnaire, and then analysed using paired sample t-tests and n-gain tests. The results showed a significant increase in SRL scores in the experimental group (gain = 12.7; p = 0.002), while the control group showed no significant changes. Although there was no significant difference in the final learning outcome scores, the technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK)-based somatic, auditory, visual, intellectual (SAVI) learning model was proven to be effective in improving SRL components, particularly in the application of learning strategies and planning. This study recommends the use of the SAVI learning model based on TPACK in pre-service teacher education
