Abstract

This study aims to describe the students’ intensive reading skill through the use of the SQ3R method in Grade III A of Elementary School Number 23 Marapalam, Padang. This is a classroom action research with qualitative and quantitative approaches. The object of this study is the class teacher and 32 students of Grade III A of Elementary School Number 23 Marapalam, Padang. The findings show that the students’ intensive reading skill increased from 56,48% with 25% completeness percentage in Cycle I Meeting I to 70.12% with 56,25% completeness percentage in Cycle I Meeting II to 87,5% with 75% completeness percentage in Cycle II. The percentage increase from Cycle I to Cycle II is 30.1%. Thus, it is concluded that the SQ3R method can improve the intensive reading skill of Grade III students of Elementary School.                                                Keywords: Intensive Reading Skill; SQ3R Method

Abstract

Abstrack The purpose of this research is to describe the improvement of narrative writing skill by using Examples Non Examples models at grade V student of Elementary School. The type of research is PTK by using qualitative and quantitative approach. This research was conducted at SD Negeri 38 Kuranji, Padang city with a total of 26 students consisting of 15 male students and 11 female students. The result of the narrative writing skill in the pre-writing at cycle I 63,4 (C) increases on cycle II 91,3 (SB). The writing phase in the first cycle 59 (K), increased in the second cycle 85 (B), the post-writing phase cycle I 59 (C) increases in cycle II 85 (B). The objective of this study is to describe the improvement of reading comprehension ability by using the PORPE strategy on the 4th grade students of Elementary School No.34 Simpang Haru, Padang. Research subjects were teachers and 32 students in the 4th grade of Elementary School No. 34 Simpang Haru, Padang. This study is a classroom action research that uses qualitative and quantitative approaches. The results showed that the students’ ability in reading comprehension increased from 82,4 (Good) with 78,1% level of mastery in cycle I, to 90 (Very Good) with 95% level of mastery in cycle II. The percentage of improvement from cycle I to cycle II is 7,6 %. Based on these results, it is concluded that the PORPE strategy can improve the ability of reading comprehension of the 4th grade students of Elementary School. Keywords: Reading comprehension ability; PORPE strategy

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe and increase in student learning outcomes in social studies learning by using the Make a Match model in the fourthh grade of elementary school. Types of this research was classroom action research with qualitative and quantitative approach. The research subject was 24 grade IV students. The research procedure consistend of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The result of the study showed and increase in aspects: a) RPP cycle I with an average of 82% and cycle II 90,90%, b) implementation on the aspect of the teacher cycle I with an average of 78% and the second cycle 92,5%, the aspect of the students of the first cycle with an average 70% and cycle II 87%, c) learning outcomes in the first cycle with an average of 70,49% and cycle II 87%. The conclusions from the result of the research conducted are using the Make a Match model can improve student learning outcomes in social stundent learning in class IV MI no.42/e3 Semerap Kabupaten Kerinci.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the index card type active learning strategy on student learning outcomes in integrated thematic learning. This type of research is quasi-experimental with nonequivalent control group design. The research was conducted in 15 ulu gadut in Padang.  The sampling technique is simple random sampling, which is selected as the sample class is class IIIC as the experimental class and class IIIA as the control class. Sampling is using purporsive sampling technique. The instrument used in this study was an essay test in the form of an essay. Based on the results of data analysis using t-test, obtained tcount = (2,58) > ttabel (2,010) at a significant level of 0.05 and dk = 48. It means that tcount > ttable, so H1 is accepted. Thus, there is a significant effect of index card macth type active learning strategy on the learning outcomes of integrated thematic in class III of Elementary School.

Abstract

AbstractThis research is to find out the correlation which positive and significant between study habits with learning outcomes in mathematics of fourth grade students in model school No. 02, Bukittinggi. This research used quantitative approach with correlation research design. The research population consist of 102 students with 81 students as the research sample. The sampling technique used is a propotional random sampling. Collection methods are a study habits questionnaire and learning outcomes in mathematics documentation. Analysis prerequisite test used normality and linearity. Hypotheses testing used Pearson Product Moment with sig.5%. The result showed that the study habits and learning outcomes in mathematics are categorized as moderate. The hypotheses test results also showed the  r-value bigger than the r-table value, with  0,820 > 0,218. Thus, it is concluded  that there is a positive and significant correlation between study habits with learning outcomes in mathematics. Keywords:study habits, learning outcomes in mathematics, the fourth grade students in elementary school

Abstract

 AbstractThis study aims to determine the effect of the Indonesian realistic education approach to the learning outcomes of fractions worth of students in class IV SDN 16 Tarok Dipo. The form of this research design is quasi experimental research of type non equivalent control group design. The sample in this study is class IVA and class IVB. The results of the calculation of the research data used is the t-test obtained by t count 3,08 > t table 1.67 at the level of α 0.05. Thus it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between the PMRI approach to the learning outcomes of fractions worth of students in class IV SDN 16 Tarok Dipo.  Keywords: PMRI approach, student learning outcomes, fractions worth
