Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of educational service practices that support children’s literacy and numeracy during the transition from Early Childhood Education (ECE) to Primary School, as well as to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors influencing this process. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed through classroom observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis in schools implementing the Joyful Transition from ECE to Primary School program. The collected data were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña interactive model. The results revealed three main themes. First, effective transition practices are supported by strong collaboration between ECE and primary school teachers, principal leadership, and active parental engagement. Second, play-based and science-integrated learning strategies enhance children’s literacy, numeracy, and socio-emotional development through contextual and exploratory learning experiences. Third, several challenges were identified, including limited learning resources, inconsistent perceptions of children’s academic readiness, and insufficient professional training related to transition policies. The discussion indicates that these challenges can be mitigated through reflective dialogue, peer mentoring, and the use of locally available learning materials. In conclusion, sustainable and joyful transition services require continuous teacher capacity building, pedagogical alignment between educational levels, and consistent policy support to ensure inclusive, meaningful, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences for all children.

Abstract

Risky play poses a dilemma for early childhood educators, raising concerns about children’s safety and institutional accountability. Teachers’ tolerance toward risky play is often influenced by their beliefs, confidence, and pedagogical competence. This study examines teachers’ beliefs and strategies in facilitating risky play through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) guided by PRISMA procedures. Eleven empirical studies published between 2021 and 2025 were selected from major academic databases. The findings indicate that teachers employ strategies such as creating supportive environments, providing responsive supervision, offering physical and verbal scaffolding, explaining potential risks, and encouraging children’s autonomous exploration. Teachers’ beliefs significantly shape the implementation and sustainability of risky play practices. Educators with strong confidence in the developmental value of controlled risk tend to adopt facilitative roles rather than restrictive ones, enabling children to assess risks, build resilience, collaborate with peers, and develop independence. The review highlights the importance of strengthening teachers’ professional competence and institutional support to optimize meaningful risky play experiences.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the existence of elementary school children who experience language development disorders, namely speech delay compared to their peers in the sixth grade of an elementary school in Cirebon City. The child, whose initials are D, experiences speech delay, which hinders his communication and learning processes. This study aims to determine the strategies and obstacles faced by Teacher Y in handling Child D, who experiences speech delay in elementary school. The research method used was qualitative research with a case study. The data collection techniques used were interviews and observation. The data analysis technique used was the Miles and Huberman Model. The results of the study showed that the strategies used by the teacher were multisensory, simple and gradual instruction, and the use of interactive learning media, methods, and models to stimulate the child's language. Meanwhile, the obstacles encountered were limited time for assistance, a lack of supporting facilities, and inconsistent stimulation at home. Based on these research results, it was concluded that handling children with speech delay requires varied strategies supported by collaboration between teachers and parents in order to achieve optimal results.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mensintesis strategi guru dalam menstimulasi keterampilan berimajinasi anak usia dini melalui penggunaan media loose parts dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini ( PAUD). Imajinasi merupakan kemampuan fundamental yang mendukung perkembangan kognitif, sosial-emosional, dan kreativitas anak, namun praktik pembelajaran di banyak satuan PAUD masih cenderung terstruktur, instruktif, dan berorientasi pada produk akhir, sehingga membatasi eksplorasi imajinatif anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi literatur dengan pendekatan analisis isi terhadap artikel jurnal empiris yang dipublikasikan pada rentang tahun 2015–2025 dan diperoleh melalui basis data Google Scholar, ERIC, dan Scopus. Sebanyak 14 artikel yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dianalisis secara tematik. Hasil analisis mengidentifikasi empat strategi utama guru dalam menstimulasi imajinasi anak melalui loose parts, yaitu: penyediaan lingkungan bermain yang terbuka dan fleksibel, peran guru sebagai fasilitator proses bermain, pemberian scaffolding minimal dan kontekstual, serta penerapan observasi dan dokumentasi proses imajinatif anak. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa efektivitas loose parts sebagai media pedagogis sangat bergantung pada strategi guru dalam memediasi pengalaman bermain anak. Penelitian ini berkontribusi pada penguatan pedagogi berbasis bermain dengan menekankan peran strategis guru dalam pengembangan imajinasi anak usia dini.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih terbatasnya implementasi pembelajaran coding pada pendidikan anak usia dini akibat keterbatasan fasilitas teknologi serta belum optimalnya pengembangan kemampuan computational thinking dan problem-solving anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis efektivitas pembelajaran unplugged coding berbasis permainan Peta Safaridalam meningkatkan kemampuan computational thinking dan problem-solving anak usia dini pada konteks sekolah multikultural dan homogen. Penelitian menggunakan desain quasi eksperimen dengan pendekatan studi kasus terhadap 30 anak kelompok B yang berasal dari TK Negeri Pembina Arut Utara dan TK ABA Pangkalan Banteng. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama empat minggu melalui aktivitas unplugged coding tanpa perangkat digital. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan observasi terstruktur dan lembar penilaian perkembangan anak, sedangkan analisis data meliputi uji normalitas, homogenitas, paired sample t-test, dan independent sample t-test. Hasil uji normalitas menunjukkan data berdistribusi normal (Sig. > 0,05) dan uji homogenitas menunjukkan varians data homogen (Sig. > 0,05). Hasil paired sample t-test menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan kemampuan computational thinking dan problem-solving anak setelah perlakuan (Sig. < 0,05). Selanjutnya, hasil independent sample t-test menunjukkan perbedaan capaian perkembangan antara sekolah multikultural dan homogen secara signifikan (Sig. < 0,05). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran unplugged coding efektif meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir komputasional, kemampuan menyusun algoritma sederhana, serta strategi pemecahan masalah anak melalui pengalaman belajar konkret berbasis permainan tanpa ketergantungan pada teknologi digital. Penelitian ini memperkuat bahwa coding pada pendidikan anak usia dini dapat diimplementasikan secara inklusif, kontekstual, dan sesuai prinsip belajar melalui bermain.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas media pembelajaran berbasis augmented reality dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis anak usia dini. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest control group. Sebanyak 30 anak usia 5–6 tahun berpartisipasi, yang dibagi menjadi kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Instrumen penelitian berupa observasi terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis, yang mencakup kemampuan mengamati, mengajukan pertanyaan, dan menarik kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelompok eksperimen yang menggunakan media augmented reality mengalami peningkatan signifikan dalam kemampuan berpikir kritis dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol. Anak-anak yang terpapar media ini menunjukkan keterlibatan kognitif yang lebih aktif dan kemampuan berpikir yang lebih terstruktur. Temuan ini mengonfirmasi bahwa media augmented reality efektif dalam merangsang berpikir kritis anak usia dini, menjadikannya sebagai alat pembelajaran yang bermanfaat untuk pendidikan anak usia dini.

Abstract

Hijaiyah letter recognition is a fundamental aspect of early Qur’anic literacy that requires developmentally appropriate teaching methods. However, early childhood education institutions still face challenges in selecting effective approaches to support children’s early reading skills. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the Al-Bayan method in improving Hijaiyah letter recognition among early childhood learners at TK Negeri Pembina Rantau, Aceh Tamiang Regency. The research employed a quantitative quasi-experimental design using a one-group pretest–posttest model. The sample consisted of 35 children selected through total sampling. Data were collected using Hijaiyah letter recognition tests and structured observation sheets. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, normality testing, paired sample t-test, and N-Gain analysis. The results showed a significant improvement in children’s Hijaiyah letter recognition after the implementation of the Al-Bayan method, with a mean difference of 26.30 and a significance value of p < 0.05. The N-Gain analysis indicated a moderate level of improvement, demonstrating the instructional effectiveness of the method. These findings suggest that the Al-Bayan method can be effectively implemented in early childhood Qur’anic learning to strengthen Hijaiyah letter recognition through structured repetition, guided practice, and child-centered instruction, providing practical guidance for educators in designing effective early Qur’anic literacy programs.

Abstract

Stunting remains a major public health issue in Indonesia due to its long-term effects on children’s growth, cognitive development, and future productivity. Despite government efforts, the implementation of integrated stunting prevention programs at the early childhood education level remains inconsistent. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Holistic Integrative Early Childhood Education (HI-ECE) program in preventing stunting in Aceh Tamiang Regency. A qualitative case study approach was employed involving 30 participants consisting of early childhood educators, principals, health workers, village officials, and parents from two early childhood education centers. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, supported by triangulation to ensure data credibility. The results show that educational services are the most consistently implemented component, particularly through the integration of hygiene, health, and nutrition awareness into daily learning activities. However, health, nutrition, caregiving, and child protection services remain limited and depend largely on external programs. Weak cross-sectoral coordination, limited human resources, and inconsistent parental participation hinder effective implementation. The study concludes that strengthening institutional capacity, formalizing intersectoral collaboration, and increasing parental engagement are essential to optimize early childhood education institutions as convergence points for sustainable stunting prevention
