Abstract

Mangosteen (Queen of Tropical Fruit) is one of the excellent commodities of Indonesia's flagship fruit export which contributes  to the country's foreign exchange and farmer's income, with the aim of exporting Hong Kong, Taiwan, China. The biggest centers of mangosteen production in Indonesia are West Java, including Tasikmalaya and Purwakarta. Because mangosteen has health benefits, the demand for mangosteen fruit is increasing (50%/year) and this makes it an opportunity to develop mangosteen agribusiness for Indonesian farmers. Many factors influence farmer decisions, especially in the application of cultivation technology, causing national mangosteen production to be unstable and of low quality. This condition causes Indonesian mangosteen to be unable to compete with other countries such as Malaysia, Thailand and Latin America. The amount of mangosteen produced by farmers for export purposes is still low. Useful cultivation techniques and technology applications are not yet fully compliant with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), such as the use of superior seeds, dosage methods and times of fertilization, observation and control of pests, and harvest and post-harvest treatment. this is identifying the factors that influence farmers' decision to use technology in mangosteen cultivation. The research method used was a survey of 69 mangosteen farmers selected by simple random sampling and location selected by multistage random sampling. The factor analysis was used Regression  with System Equations Model. The results of the study show that the factors that influence farmers' decision to use mangosteen cultivation technology to increase production and quality of crops are farmers' assets, namely physical assets, non-physical assets and access to farmers' access. Physical assets, namely the number of ownership of trees, rice fields, vehicles, and income outside of farming; Non-physical assets, namely the number of productive age family members, farmers' access assets, namely the length of travel time from the garden to the provincial road.

Abstract

Increasing rice production through improvements on the production side is important to be implemented to achieve food sovereignty, resilience and self-sufficiency. Several government efforts to increase national rice production have been carried out. The research objective was to analyze the comparative income of farmers in lowland rice farming using the legowo row and conventional cropping system technology in Karawang district. The research design used a quantitative approach. This research was conducted in Karawang Regency, the sample of farmers in the legowo row and conventional cropping system technology was 110 farmers consisting of 50 farmers who used the jarwo planting system, and 60 farmers who used the conventional planting system. Cost analysis is done by grouping the costs used which consist of fixed costs and variable costs and different tests. The results of the research were farmers' income in lowland rice farming using the legowo row cropping system with an average value (Rp. 38,026,916.41 / ha / MT) from the conventional planting system (Rp. 28,118,602 / ha / MT). The comparison of lowland rice farming farmers' income based on different test analysis shows that there is a difference between the income of farmers in lowland rice farming that applies the legowo row planting system technology which is greater than conventional.

Abstract

Sweet potatoes are one of the leading food crop commodities in Indonesia with a total production of 1,914,244 tons. Sumedang Regency is one of the sweet potato production centers in West Java with a productivity of 244.84 quintals per hectare with cilembu sweet potatoes as the main variety. The growth rate of cilembu sweet potato production and productivity shows that cilembu sweet potato has the potential to be developed by reprocessing it, one of which is into chips. One of the home industries that process cilembu sweet potato into chips product is Cihuy Chips Home Industry. This study aims to determine the marketing strategies that can be applied to Cihuy Chips Home Industry. Data collection was carried out from July to August 2020 through observations and interviews with informants using the SOAR analysis stage. The analysis tools that used are the SOAR diagram and the SOAR matrix. The marketing strategy formulated from the SOAR matrix so that the Cihuy Chips Home Industry can survive and thrive is to provide discounts on the flavor variants that are not best-sellers, procure limited edition greentea and salt chilies flavors in online store Shopee, renew the design packaging, logo and addition of zip locks, launching of cheesestick and eggroll products with free shipping fee at Shopee's online store, and buy 1 get 1 promotions on products that are nearing expiration date.

Abstract

Soybean is one of the important food commodities in Indonesia. Soybean consumption in Indonesia is expected to increase every year. Soybean cannot be consumed directly, but it must be processed first. The increasing consumption of soybean makes soybean processing agroindustry has a great opportunity to develop. Product from processed yellow soybean into soybean powder has the highest added value than the other products, but there are still few companies that process soybean into soybean powder. CV. Dodo-Mis is the first agroindustry that produce soybean powder especially in Bandung Regency area. The design of this study uses qualitative design and research techniques as case studies. The analysis tools used is using income analysis and value added analysis of the Hayami method. The purpose of this study was to determine the income and added value of the processing of soybeans into soybean powder.. The process of soybean processing into soybean powder at CV. Dodo-Mis is focused on 3 flavor that are natural flavor, vanila flavor, and chocolate flavor. The production process is still simple. The income of CV. Dodo-Mis from the sale of Alamina soybean powder is Rp 3.742.693 so it can be said this business is profitable with the R/C score is 1,56. The biggest added value is obtained from natural flavored soybean powder products. This is because the output of natural soybean powder is higher and natural soybean powder does not require supporting materials in the manufacturing process.

Abstract

Cinnamon is one of indonesia's plantation export commodities that is quite potential and has expectations for the country's foreign exchange receipts. Cinnamon is not Indonesia's main export commodity, but cinnamon is indonesia's main plantation commodity and has great potential to be exported. There are conditions that are not in line between the production volume and the export volume of Indonesian cinnamon where the production volume shows a downward trend, while the export volume shows an increasing trend. This study aims to analyze what factors influence the export volume of Indonesian cinnamon and find out what factors have the most dominant influence on the export volume of Indonesian cinnamon. This research uses quantitative research design with literature study method. Data in this study in the form of time series data includes annual data during the period 1989 - 2018 (30 years). Data analysis techniques used are classical assumption test analysis, multiple linear regression analysis, and statistical test analysis. The results showed that the variable export price of cinnamon, the real exchange rate of rupiah against usd, indonesia's real GDP, and the area of Indonesian cinnamon land had a significant effect on the export volume of Indonesian cinnamon, while the variable amount of cinnamon production and the real GDP of the USA had an insignificant effect on the export volume of Indonesian cinnamon. The most dominant factor affecting the export volume of Indonesian cinnamon is the export price of cinnamon.
