Abstract

Student engagement shows how much student involvement is in learning, where this is influenced by self-regulated learning. The aim of this research is to examine the effect of self-regulated learning on student engagement. The sample in this research was 125 respondents, who were students at the Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara, Management study program taking Production Management classes. The research results show that there is a significant influence between self-regulated learning and student engagement. Students' ability to organize their own learning has a big influence on student engagement. So it is very important to encourage self-regulated learning abilities, especially when dealing with online learning.

Abstract

The abundance of mangoes during the harvest season, and the sour taste of the mangoes even though they are ripe and perishable in nature, the people of Kanje Village process the mangoes into sour. This tamarind is called Kaloko and is a mandatory spice used by the people in making Mandarese food, namely the smell of peapi. The problem found is that the mango acid produced is black in color making it less attractive and unfit for marketing. In fact, it is not uncommon to find that the acid that has been made is also moldy when stored for a long time. Overcoming this problem, the PKM team offers a solution to provide education and training on making mango tamarind which is attractive in color and resistant to fungus. The PKM method used is observation, education and practice of making mango tamarind. This activity was carried out in the homes of residents who often make mango sour. The PKM was carried out on Saturday, April 22, 2023, then the evaluation of the final result of mango acid was carried out on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. The results of the PKM showed that the community was able to produce attractively colored mango acid. This shows that this PKM activity has been successful because it is proven to be able to improve partners' skills.

Abstract

The intention to visit a halal destination is influenced by several factors, either directly or indirectly. The factors that influence intention to visit a halal destination include electronic word of mouth, destination image, social media and consumer behavior. The objectives of this study are (1) to examine the direct and partial effects of electronic word of mouth, destination image, social media on consumer behavior; (2) examining the direct and partial effects of electronic word of mouth, destination image and social media on intention to visit halal destinations; (3) examining the direct influence of consumer behavior on the intention to visit a halal destination; (4) examining the indirect influence between electronic word of mouth, destination image, social media on the intention to visit halal destinations mediated by consumer behavior. This study used path analysis with the SPSS program, with 73 research subjects.  The results showed that (1) partially, it was found that there was a significant influence between EWOM, destination image and social media on consumer behavior; (2) that E-WOM affects the intention to visit a halal destination, while consumer behavior, destination image and social media do not influence the intention to visit a halal destination; (3) consumer behavior shows a significant influence on the intention to visit a halal destination; (4) and from the analysis of the indirect effect, the results concluded that consumer behavior is not an intervening variable between E-WOM, destination image and social media.

Abstract

Bullying is a common problem among elementary school students and may negatively affect their psychological well-being and learning process. Interactive education has the potential to improve students' knowledge and awareness regarding bullying prevention. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of interactive education in improving students' knowledge of anti-bullying. A pre-experimental study with a one-group pretest-posttest design was conducted involving 42 sixth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 19 Nopember, Kolaka Regency. The intervention consisted of interactive educational sessions including participatory lectures, group discussions, educational videos, PowerPoint presentations, and anti-bullying posters. Students' knowledge was assessed using a 10-item questionnaire before and after the intervention. Data were analyzed descriptively using mean scores and knowledge-level distribution. The mean knowledge score increased from 6.45 ± 3.21 before the intervention to 7.81 ± 2.80 after the intervention. Following the educational program, 19% of students demonstrated a high level of knowledge, 45% had a moderate level, and 36% remained in the low category. Most students were able to identify the definition and impacts of bullying and recognized the importance of reporting bullying incidents, although some still experienced difficulty distinguishing different types of bullying. Interactive education effectively improved elementary school students' knowledge and awareness regarding bullying prevention. This approach may serve as an effective school-based health promotion strategy to prevent bullying. Establishing a school anti-bullying team or organization is recommended to sustain bullying prevention efforts.

Abstract

Masyarakat pada lokus menerapkan praktik budidaya perikanan berkelanjutan, sehingga penilaian kualitas air menjadi sangat penting untuk menjaga sistem budidaya ikan yang efektif dan produktif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki korelasi antara parameter kualitas air dan populasi plankton di kolam budidaya ikan lele. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain survei pada dua jenis kolam, yaitu kolam benih dan kolam dewasa. Parameter kualitas air yang diukur meliputi suhu, kekeruhan, salinitas, dan pH, sedangkan komunitas plankton dievaluasi berdasarkan kelompok dominan dalam ekosistem perairan, yaitu fitoplankton dan zooplankton. Struktur komunitas plankton dianalisis dengan fokus pada kelompok dominan, yaitu fitoplankton dan zooplankton. Analisis korelasi Spearman-rank digunakan untuk menilai hubungan antara variabel lingkungan dan dinamika plankton. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa beberapa faktor lingkungan secara signifikan memengaruhi distribusi plankton. Secara khusus, salinitas berkorelasi positif dengan Alga Hijau (r = 0,786, p = 0,021) dan Daphnia (r = 0,762, p = 0,028) di kolam remaja. Sebaliknya, di kolam dewasa, peningkatan kekeruhan berdampak negatif terhadap Alga Hijau (r = -0,875, p = 0,004) dan Daphnia (r = -0,913, p = 0,002). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa perubahan lingkungan, khususnya terkait salinitas dan kekeruhan, berpotensi memengaruhi struktur komunitas plankton yang sangat penting bagi jaring makanan ikan lele.  Kata kunci: ikan lele dumbo, parameter kualitas air, kolam ikan, komunitas plankton
