Abstract

This study aims to improve the critical thinking skills of class X MIA 1 students at SMAN 2 Sirenja through the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model in Biology subjects. This research used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach, conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through teacher and student activity observations, as well as critical thinking skill tests. Research data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed a significant improvement from cycle I to cycle II. Classical completeness increased from 41.17% to 88.2%, while classical absorption increased from 64.26% to 80.8%. Both teacher and student activities improved, reflecting higher engagement in the learning process. In addition, critical thinking indicators such as analysis, evaluation, and problem-solving showed positive development.Thus, the implementation of the Project Based Learning model proved effective in enhancing students' critical thinking skills and in creating a more active, collaborative, and contextual learning environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the quality of science learning at SMP Negeri 1 Taopa. This research used descriptive method with qualitative approach. The subjects of this study consisted of 52 students and 2 science teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Taopa. The types and sources of data used are primary, namely the results of observations, questionnaires and interviews. Based on the results of the study, the quality of learning shows excellent achievements in various aspects. Learning media is in the Very Good category with a percentage of 86.53%, indicating high effectiveness in delivering material. Similarly, the learning method also reached the Very Good category with a percentage of 82.5%, confirming that the combination of media and methods applied was very effective. Furthermore, the learning system also obtained a Very Good category with a percentage of 87.5%, indicating that the flow and structure of learning has been optimally designed. Overall, the findings show that the evaluated learning components contribute significantly to a quality learning experience. Thus, it can be concluded that the quality of learning at SMP Negeri 1 Taopa is in the Very Good category.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in Biology through the implementation of Project Based Learning (PBL) in class XIA at SMAN I Bunobogu. The method used in this study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design consisting of four stages: planning, implementation, teacher observation, and student observation. The subjects of this study were 28 students in class XIA. The data collection instruments used in this study included teacher observation sheets, student observation sheets, and post-tests. The results of this study indicate that the project-based learning model in Biology has significantly improved student learning outcomes. This is demonstrated by the data analysis conducted during the first cycle, which showed a student learning outcome rate of 71%, while the second cycle saw an increase to 93%. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Project-Based Learning model successfully improved student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the influence of the model Learning Cycle 7E learning assisted by powtoon media on the activities and learning outcomes of class X students of SMA Negeri 4 Palu. The population in this study were all students of class X of SMA Negeri 4 Palu totaling 400 students spread across class X by taking a sample of 25% of the total, namely 70 students. Sampling used a purposive sampling technique, and the research sample was 2 classes consisting of class XE and XG. Data collection techniques used learning outcome tests and observation sheets. The results showed that there was a significant influence of student learning activities between the experimental class given the Learning Cycle 7E learning model treatment and the control class given the conventional learning model treatment. This is shown by the calculation of the observation sheet of student learning activities, student psychomotor activities and student affective activities in the experimental class getting a score of 83.54 percentage 81-100% very good category while in the control class getting a score of 77.64 percentage 61-80% good category and the average value of significant learning outcomes in class XE as an experimental class 82.20 and class XG as a control class 77.34. In addition, it is proven by the results of the hypothesis test (t-test), obtained a sig value in class X which is 0.00 <0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that the Learning Cycle 7E learning model assisted by Powtoon media has a significant effect on the activities and learning outcomes of class X students of SMA Negeri 4 Palu.

Abstract

Tujuan dari riset ini tidak lain untuk mengkaji Keterkaitan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler siswa pecinta lingkungan dengan kesadaran lingkungan dan sikap disiplin siswa di SMK Negeri 1 Toribulu, Sulawesi Tengah. Metodologi yang diterapkan riset ini menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif dengan subjek 28 siswa, terdiri dari 14 siswa yang aktif dalam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler dan 14 siswa yang tidak. Temuan penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa para siswa yang ikut serta dalam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler memiliki kesadaran lingkungan dan sikap disiplin menunjukkan hasil yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan mereka yang tidak terlibat, dengan nilai  Sig. < 0,001. Dari penelitian ini dapat menyimpulkan bahwasannya kegiatan ekstrakurikuler memiliki kecenderungan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kesadaran lingkungan dan kedisiplinan siswa, serta mendukung temuan sebelumnya yang menyatakan bahwa kegiatan ekstrakurikuler dapat meningkatkan terhadap kesadaran lingkungan dan sikap disiplin.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of the Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model on the science learning outcomes of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 7 Palu. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study consisted of all eighth-grade students in six classes, with a total of 166 students. The sample of this study consisted of classes VIII A and VIII B, with a total of 54 students. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, whereby both classes were selected as sample classes because they were relatively homogeneous in terms of student grades, numbers, and characteristics. The data collection technique was a test. The instrument in this study was a learning outcome test used for pretest and posttest. Instrument testing included validity and reliability tests, while assumption testing included normality and homogeneity tests. Hypothesis testing used an independent samples t-test and learning outcome improvement was tested using an N-Gain test. The results showed that there was a significant effect of the TPS cooperative learning model on biology learning outcomes in grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 7 Palu. The average posttest score for the experimental class was 76, while that for the control class was 39. The N-Gain test results showed a higher increase in learning outcomes in the experimental class with a score of 0.72, which is in the high category. In conclusion, the TPS cooperative learning model has a significant effect on biology learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of teacher readiness in teaching science at Bungku Timur Public Junior High School. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach. Research data were collected through observation of learning tools, observation of the learning process, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects involved science teachers from four public junior high schools in the Bungku Timur area. The results showed that (1) the readiness of learning tools, including the education calendar, annual program, semester program, teaching modules, and teaching materials, was in the Ready to Very Ready category, with an achievement percentage ranging from 81.25% to 100%; (2) it was found that two schools had fulfilled all the tools completely, while the other two schools still needed improvement in several components; (3) for the readiness of the learning process, the aspects of teachers' knowledge, attitudes, and skills showed excellent results; (4) Teachers have a strong understanding of science material, learning strategies, and student characteristics; (5) Teachers demonstrate high motivation to teach, a positive attitude towards innovation, and good work discipline. In terms of skills, teachers are considered quite skilled in developing learning tools, managing media, and implementing active learning, with a rating of “Ready”.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' learning outcomes in Biology for Grade X students of SMK Manbaul Hikmah through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through observation sheets of teacher and student activities as well as learning outcome tests administered at the end of each cycle. The results indicate that the application of the PBL model significantly improved students' learning outcomes. In Cycle I, classical learning mastery reached 85%, while in Cycle II it increased to 92%. The 7% improvement in classical mastery demonstrates that the PBL model is effective in encouraging students to think critically, collaborate, and solve problems related to contextual learning materials. In addition, students' activity and engagement during the learning process showed continuous improvement in each cycle. Therefore, the Problem Based Learning model can be considered an effective alternative for improving Biology learning outcomes of Grade X students at SMK Manbaul Hikmah.

Abstract

This study aims to identify teachers' efforts in arousing students' interest in biology learning in public high schools in Dondo District. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with research instruments in the form of observation sheets, questionnaires, and interview guidelines. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, questionnaires, and interviews. Data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, while the questionnaires were processed descriptively to identify trends in each indicator of teacher efforts. The results showed that teachers had made various efforts to arouse students' interest in learning, with the highest achievement in the indicator of creating a pleasant atmosphere, followed by giving praise and varied learning methods, and efforts to relate the material to everyday life. Meanwhile, the indicator with the lowest achievement was providing feedback that had not been given specifically to each student. This finding was reinforced by the results of interviews that showed that teachers tried to create interesting learning through a variety of methods, concrete examples, and positive interactions during learning. This study concludes that teachers' efforts to arouse students' interest in learning biology have been effective, but the provision of feedback and strengthening of more equitable learning collaboration needs to be improved.

Abstract

Kemampuan komunikasi lisan merupakan keterampilan esensial abad ke-21 yang masih rendah pada sebagian besar peserta didik di SMAN 4 Palu, ditandai dengan kurangnya partisipasi dan kepercayaan diri dalam berpendapat. Penelitian bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi lisan peserta didik kelas XI-J di SMA Negeri 4 Palu melalui penerapan Problem Based Learning. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan selama 2 siklus. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar observasi dan datanya dianalisis secara deskriptif. Terdapat peningkatan signifikan pada kemampuan komunikasi lisan peserta didik. Pada siklus I, rerata persentase kemampuan komunikasi lisan siswa berada di angka 70,77% dengan kategori “Baik”. Setelah perbaikan tindakan pada siklus II, rerata persentase meningkat menjadi 81,40% dengan kategori “Sangat Baik”. Implementasi PBL berhasil meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi lisan peserta didik karena memfasilitasi keterlibatan aktif dan melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis.
