Abstract

The purpose of this study is to demonstrate how the use of tangram learning materials in the Project Based Learning (PJBL) paradigm can enhance students' learning activities in the mathematics topic of flat shape construction and decomposition. This article describes a type of research known as Classroom Action Research (PTK), in which 17 research participants from class IV pupils at Sembungan State Elementary School participated in two cycles of action during the academic year 2023–2024. The average proportion of learning activities grew from 63.441% in cycle I to 75.176% in cycle II, according to the results of the observations. After taking action in cycle II, there was a notable increase. This research demonstrates how well project-based learning with the aid of tangram media improves student learning outcomes, which are directly tied to what students learn during class.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to identify several approaches that can arouse children's interest in reading, especially elementary school students. For students in particular, interest in reading is something that is very important. It is a collective obligation for parents, teachers and elementary school children to try to arouse interest in reading. As a result, one of the problems is the decline in students' enthusiasm for reading in class. Another problem is students' lack of interest in reading and teachers' indifference to the fact that students read books as part of their education. When trying to use image media to increase elementary school students' interest or willingness to read, it is best to provide encouragement and assistance to the students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve science learning achievement using the Think Pairs Share (TPS) learning model for class IV at SD N Tirtosari. This study uses PTK method. Data collection techniques with interviews, observations, field notes, and tests. Sources of data are teachers and students as research subjects. The data analysis technique is descriptively taken from the average achievement score and the percentage of student completeness. Based on the research, it was concluded that the use of the TPS learning model could improve the learning achievement of fourth grade students at SD N Tirtosari. In the pre-action the average student achievement was 69.28 with a completeness percentage of 42.85%, in cycle I it increased from 5.86 to 75.14 with a completeness percentage of 57.14% because it was not in accordance with the percentage of success then proceed to cycle II . In cycle II there was an average increase of 11.71 so that the average student achievement was 86.85 with a completeness percentage of 100%. From this description it can be seen that there has been an increase from the pre-action stage, cycle I to cycle II.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the mathematics learning outcomes of FPB and KPK materials through concrete media in the form of congklak in grade IV students of MI Al-Hadi II. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research. The subjects of this study were 20 students of grade IV MI Al-Hadi II. This research consists of two cycles. Each cycle goes through four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection in this study used test, observation, and documentation techniques. The data analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive. The results showed that the use of congklak media can increase the average score of students, the percentage of students whose learning outcomes have not been completed at the pre-cycle stage is 60% with an average score of 72.25. There is a cycle I has increased, namely those who achieve KKM scores there are 60% with an average of 76 or 12 out of 20 students have reached KKM. In cycle 2 there was a significant increase with a percentage of 90% and an average value of 79. These results show that the application of congklak media makes students experience an increase in mathematics learning outcomes of FPB and KPK materials.

Abstract

Science in general teaches to develop reasoning skills and be able for understand concepts, but in reality science learning there are still students who experience misconceptions. The purpose of the study is to determine the magnitude of misconceptions in 4th-grade students of SD Negeri Ngrukeman and to find out the causes of misconceptions, so that they can determine the right solution to the problem. This research uses quantitative descriptive research. The data collection technique used diagnostic tests and the subjects in this study were 4th-grade students of SD Negeri Ngrukeman. Based on the results of the diagnostic test, it is known that the percentage of students' misconceptions on the topic "The Effect of Force on Objects" is 65%, the topic "Magnets, a Magical Object" is 59%, the topic "Elastic Objects" is 31%, the topic "Why We Don't Float in the Air" is 11%. The causal factors of the misconceptions themselves are 1) students' wrong preconceptions; 2) ineffective learning models; 3) teachers repeating material when students experience misconceptions; and 4) teaching materials that have not facilitated concept understanding properly. The solution that can be done is the need to develop teaching materials that contain practices and learning models that can reduce misconceptions.

Abstract

Every subject given to students does not escape a concept, including learning Natural Sciences (Science). Concepts are a basic aspect of developing the knowledge learned by someone. Unfortunately, in reality, there are still many misconceptions in learning. The aim of this research is to identify students' misconceptions about plant material at SD N Krapyak Wetan. The research method used was quantitative description using diagnostic test instruments. Based on the diagnostic tests carried out, it is known that the percentage of students' misconceptions about plant material is quite high, especially in the sub-chapter on plants and photosynthesis with a percentage of 61%. Several factors cause misconceptions in students, namely 1) Teachers' lack of understanding about students' preconceptions before learning is carried out, 2) The use of learning methods that seem like that, less innovative, 3) The use of teaching materials must also be carefully considered because this is also the cause of misconceptions in students, 4) Then there is a lack of learning innovation such as simple experimental practices which are still very rarely carried out in schools.
