Abstract

Abstract   Background: Patients with cardiovascular disease often experience anxiety caused by fear of the disease, long recovery period, high risk of complications, possible death, fear of change and life after being diagnosed with the disease or after medical treatment. Efforts that can be made to overcome anxiety in cardiovascular patients need to be given Foot Reflexology management which has a direct influence on the elasticity of blood vessel walls, with manipulation techniques of soft tissue structures that can calm and reduce psychological stress such as anxiety. The aim of this research is to analyze various journals regarding the influence of Foot Reflexology on anxiety in cardiac surgery patients. The data collection method uses the literature review study method using the Google Scholar, Pubmed, Sciencedirect, Researchgate, EBSCO journal data base in the last five years as many as 7 journals that comply with the inclusion and exclusion criteria set by the author. Results: Research from 7 articles shows that there is an influence of Foot Reflexology on anxiety in heart surgery patients. Based on the articles analyzed, Foot Reflexology is given on average within 1 to 3 days of treatment with a frequency of 3 treatments. The duration used is 10 to 30 minutes for each session, so that Foot Reflexology in 1 session is carried out within 30 minutes. Conclusion: The results of the analysis show that Foot Reflexology affects anxiety in cardiac surgery patients

Abstract

This study seeks to look into the impact of group discussions on the writing skills of grade X students, specifically focusing on recount texts at SMA Negeri 2 Kendal. This study aims to achieve the following objectives: (1) to gauge the writing skills of students regarding recount text when instruction is delivered without the incorporation of group discussion; (2) to evaluate the writing skills of students concerning recount text when instruction includes group discussion; and (3) to analyze the significant differences in students' writing skills on recount text between the two instructional approaches, namely without and with group discussion. This study relied on a quantitative technique and adopted a quasi-experimental design for its research probe. The data collection process involved the utilization of both pre-test and post-test equipment. The analysis of the data was conducted utilizing the IBM SPSS version 27. The analysis of the data indicated that students who engaged in group discussions demonstrated superior performance compared to those who did not participate in such discussions. The students participating in the experimental class achieved an average score of 56.97 on the pre-test, which increased to 73.46 on the post-test. This suggests that a significant disparity exists between students who received instruction that included group discussions and those who did not engage in such collaborative learning experiences. Keywords: Writing, Recount Text, Group Discussion.

Abstract

This study examines the learning styles of eleventh-grade APHP students at SMK N 6 Kendal and their impact on reading competence. The research seeks to address the following questions: What are the dominant learning styles among the students, and how do these styles influence their reading comprehension? Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and reading tests involving 18 students from class B. The findings reveal that visual learning styles are the most dominant, with students demonstrating a strong preference for visual aids such as diagrams, videos, and PowerPoint presentations to enhance comprehension. Auditory learners, the second largest group, benefit from verbal explanations and group discussions, while a smaller number of kinesthetic learners excel in activity-based learning, such as practice and simulations. The study highlights the significant impact of aligning teaching methods with students’ learning styles to improve engagement and academic performance, emphasizing the need for varied and inclusive teaching strategies to accommodate diverse preferences

The best daily growth results were obtained in treatment A2 (10%) which was 3.80 cm and was the highest value compared to the daily growth value in the control. The best survival rate results were obtained in treatment A3 (15%), namely 99.33%. The best feed efficiency was obtained in treatment A2 (10%), namely 97.70% and the highest survival value was obtained in this treatment. From the results of the research that has been carried out, it was found that the best treatment is the use of chicken manure in treatment A2, namely the use of 10% manure in additional feed for catfish farming fish, so that the use of 10% chicken manure in 1 kg of feed can increase growth and feed efficiency in fish farming catfish.
