Abstract

Education is a key pillar in the development of individuals and society. In this digital era, technology has revolutionized learning by expanding access and improving the quality of the learning process. One of the recent innovations is the use of web-based learning (WBL), which, although flexible, often lacks interaction elements, thus reducing user engagement. To address this, this research proposes a platform, “Meja Guru Academy,” that integrates gamification elements in WBL to improve the learning evaluation skills of Teacher Professional Education (PPG) students. This research utilizes the Design Thinking approach, which involves the stages of empathy, problem definition, idea development, prototyping, and evaluation—the data collection method through questionnaires produced quantitative and qualitative data for system validation. Content experts rated the platform's educational material at 85.33%, indicating exceptional alignment with learning objectives, while media experts provided a score of 89.60%, highlighting effective usability. User testing with PPG students yielded a strong System Usability Scale (SUS) score of 79, suggesting the platform is highly user-friendly. Additionally, the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) results indicated positive user perceptions across multiple aspects, with high ratings in pragmatic quality attributes such as perspicuity and efficiency, and hedonic qualities including stimulation and novelty. Overall, Meja Guru Academy presents an innovative and effective solution for advancing PPG students' evaluation competencies, fostering engagement and self-directed learning through gamified WBL.

Abstract

Vocational High Schools (SMKs) are educational institutions that emphasize equipping students with specific skills that can be directly applied in the workforce, aiming to reduce unemployment rates. However, unemployment in Indonesia remains significantly high among SMK graduates, which is largely attributed to the low work readiness of students. This study aims to examine the influence of practical learning and field work practical experience (PKL) on the work readiness of class XII students in the Building Design, Modeling, and Information Expertise Program (DPIB) at SMK Negeri 6 Malang, both partially and simultaneously. The research employed a quantitative approach using a saturated sampling technique, with all 89 students of class XII DPIB participating as respondents. Data collection was conducted through structured questionnaires and observations. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, prerequisite tests, multiple regression analysis, multiple correlation analysis, and calculations of relative and effective contributions, assisted by IBM SPSS Statistics software. The results indicate that both practical learning and field work experience have a significant and positive effect on students’ work readiness. When analyzed partially, each variable contributes differently: practical learning accounts for an effective contribution of 15.9% while field work experience contributes 48.2%. In terms of relative contribution, practical learning accounts for 24.8% and field work experience 75.2%. Collectively, these findings demonstrate that practical learning and field work experience significantly enhance the readiness of students to enter the workforce. This highlights the importance of integrating hands-on learning experiences and real-world field work into vocational education to better prepare students for professional environments and improve their employability. The study recommends that SMKs continue to strengthen practical learning curricula and provide ample field work opportunities to ensure graduates possess both the technical skills and work readiness necessary for successful employment.

Abstract

Digital transformation in education has accelerated the integration of gamification as an interactive and motivational learning strategy. This study presents a systematic literature review following the SPAR 4 SLR protocol, based on the analysis of 25 empirical research articles published between 2020 and 2025. The objective is to explore the distribution and impact of various gamification elements on cognitive, affective, and psychomotor learning domains. Elements that provide rewards, such as points (88%), badges (80%), and leaderboards (72%), were the most commonly applied in learning environments. In contrast, reflective features such as storytelling (20%), learner autonomy (24%), and role-playing activities (16%) were especially effective in increasing emotional involvement, self-directed learning, and practical abilities. Through thematic analysis using NVivo 12, the study found that external rewards often encourage only temporary motivation, whereas reflective components support more lasting and meaningful learning processes. The study concludes by recommending a balanced and goal-oriented approach to gamification design, which can strengthen its role as a transformative educational strategy in the digital learning era.
