Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of Indonesian language exposition text material for fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 060885 Medan Baru, where only 40% of students achieved the completion criteria. This study aims to examine the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model assisted by animated videos on the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at the school in the 2025/2026 Academic Year. The approach used is quantitative with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design on a population and a total sample of 30 students. Data were collected through learning outcome tests, student response questionnaires, and documentation, then analyzed using normality tests, product-moment correlation tests, and t-tests. The results showed a significant increase in the class average score from 52.6 in the pretest to 80.4 in the posttest, with the completion rate jumping from 6.7% to 86.7%. Based on the hypothesis testing, the t-count value was 3.774, which was greater than the t-table value of 2.048, and the significance value was 0.001 < 0.05. The correlation coefficient value of 0.581 also indicated a fairly strong relationship. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of the CTL learning model assisted by animated videos has a positive and significant effect on students' Indonesian language learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model on Indonesian language learning outcomes, particularly on the topic of understanding the Subject-Predicate-Object-Adverbial (SPOK) sentence structure among third-grade students at UPT SD Negeri 060794 Medan Area in the 2025/2026 academic year. This research employed a quantitative approach using a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample consisted of 22 students selected through a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through tests, questionnaires, and documentation. The research instruments were tested for validity and reliability before being used in the study. The results showed that the students’ mean pretest score of 50 increased to 79.09 on the posttest after the implementation of the CTL learning model. In addition, the questionnaire results regarding the implementation of the CTL model obtained an average score of 84.22, indicating a positive response from students toward the learning process. The correlation coefficient test yielded an r-value of 0.823, which was higher than the r-table value of 0.432, indicating a very strong relationship between the CTL model and students’ learning outcomes. Furthermore, the hypothesis testing (t-test) showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 with a t-value of -9.542, leading to the rejection of H₀ and acceptance of H₁. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model has a significant effect on the Indonesian language learning outcomes of third-grade students at UPT SD Negeri 060794 Medan Area, particularly in understanding SPOK sentence structures.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the level of parental role, the level of students’ character education, and the influence of parental role on the character education of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 067246 Flamboyan Raya Medan in the academic year 2025/2026. This research employed a quantitative approach using a correlational method. The population consisted of 30 fifth-grade students and their parents. Data were collected using questionnaires that had met validity and reliability requirements, with Cronbach’s Alpha values of 0.801 for the Parental Role instrument and 0.799 for the Character Education instrument. Data were analyzed using normality testing, Pearson Product-Moment correlation, t-test, and coefficient of determination analysis with the assistance of SPSS version 25.0. The results showed that both parental role and students’ character education were categorized as good, with mean scores of 84.27 and 81.43, respectively. The correlation analysis revealed a positive and significant relationship between parental role and students’ character education (r = 0.527; sig. = 0.003 < 0.05). The hypothesis test showed that the calculated t-value was 3.277, which was higher than the t-table value of 2.048, indicating that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected. The coefficient of determination indicated that parental role contributed 27.77% to students’ character education, while the remaining 72.23% was influenced by other factors. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a positive and significant influence of parental role on the character education of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 067246 Flamboyan Raya Medan in the academic year 2025/2026.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the increasing incidence of bullying in elementary schools, which has the potential to reduce students' learning motivation. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of bullying on the learning motivation of students at UPT SD Negeri 066656 Medan Selayang in the 2025/2026 academic year. This study employed a quantitative method with a correlational approach. The population consisted of 116 students, while 90 students were selected as the sample using purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using the normality test, Product Moment correlation, simple linear regression, and the t-test. The results showed that the data were normally distributed, with a significance value of 0.200 (>0.05). The Product Moment correlation analysis produced a correlation coefficient of 0.947 with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating a very strong relationship between bullying and students' learning motivation. Furthermore, the t-test revealed that the calculated t-value (27.568) was higher than the critical t-value (1.987), with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05). These findings indicate that bullying has a significant effect on the learning motivation of students at UPT SD Negeri 066656 Medan Selayang in the 2025/2026 academic year. Therefore, continuous efforts to prevent bullying are necessary to create a safe and supportive learning environment that enhances students' learning motivation.
