Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the sustainable financial strategies of BUMDes Ponggok, reveal the factors supporting its success, and formulate a financial model that can be replicated by other BUMDes. Research Methodology: This study uses a qualitative method supported by quantitative data and an exploratory case study approach. The main stages of the research are as follows: (1) identification and collection of data through in-depth interviews with BUMDes managers, village officials, and local communities; (2) data processing and analysis through interview transcription, data coding, and thematic analysis; (3) data validation through data triangulation techniques from various sources; and (4) presentation and drawing of conclusions to answer the research questions. Results: The analysis shows that BUMDes Ponggok’s sustainable financial strategy is formed from a combination of sound financial planning, operational efficiency, transparency in reporting, utilization of digital technology, and risk management. This approach is in line with the principles of sustainable finance, which emphasize a balance between economic profit, environmental sustainability, and community welfare. Conclusions: This study is limited to the case of BUMDes Ponggok; therefore, the results are contextual. However, the resulting sustainable financial strategy model can still be used as a starting point for other BUMDes with adjustments based on local conditions. Limitations: This study focuses only on BUMDes Ponggok; therefore, the findings are contextual, although the model is adaptable to other settings. Contributions: This study enriches the financial and ecotourism management literature and offers a practical reference for village enterprises in developing businesses based on local potential.

Abstract

Health development in Indonesia faces a double burden of disease, namely infectious and non-communicable diseases (NCDs), with cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) accounting for nearly half of NCD-related deaths. Major CVD risk factors are hypertension and obesity, which can be controlled through routine monitoring of blood pressure and body mass index (BMI). This study aims to develop a health kiosk prototype integrating a sphygmomanometer and BMI–fat analyzer. The research consists of three stages: characterization of sensors for blood pressure and body fat measurement, comparison of proximity sensors, and prototype testing. The MPX5050GP pressure sensor achieved an R² of 1 with a sensitivity of 0.012 volts. Proximity sensor characterization showed R² values of 0.9996 (HC-SR04) and 0.9997 (JSN-SR04T), with sensitivities of 0.9943 cm and 0.9831 cm, respectively. The load cell reached an R² of 1 with a sensitivity of 1.0056 kg, while the AD5933 impedance showed R² = 1 and a sensitivity of 0.9999 Ω. Prototype trials with ten samples indicated that blood pressure, BMI, and fat mass measurements were feasible but not yet optimal, with errors in height measurement and limitations in the blood pressure algorithm. Despite these challenges, the successful integration of the sphygmomanometer and BMI–fat analyzer was achieved.

Abstract

Shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.) are one of the important horticultural commodities that often experience unstable harvest yields due to land quality degradation triggered by the massive and continuous use of chemical inputs. This study aims to identify the effect of planting media and Trichoderma sp. on the growth process and productivity of Bima Brebes shallots. This study was arranged in a two-factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) (3 x 4) with three replications. The first factor was the media composition (soil, sand, rice husk charcoal, and goat manure). The second factor was Trichoderma sp. with doses of 0, 7.5, 15, and 22.5 g/polybag. The results of this study showed that the planting media treatment had a significant effect on almost all observed parameters. The use of media enriched with goat manure (C2 and C3) was able to increase the variables of plant height, number of leaves, bulb weight, bulb diameter, and root weight. The C2 medium showed the highest wet bulb yield of 31.54 g/polybag, while the C1 medium showed the lowest yield of 15.92 g/polybag. Conversely, the administration of various doses of Trichoderma sp. showed no effect on any of the observed parameters, and the two treatments showed no interaction. This is likely due to the low organic matter content, which limited the colonization of biological agents. The growth and yield of shallot bulbs were more optimal through the addition of media amendments such as goat manure to improve chemical and physical properties compared to the single application of Trichoderma.

Abstract

The global maritime shipping industry faces unprecedented pressure to reconcile operational efficiency with environmental sustainability, particularly in response to the International Maritime Organization's ambitious decarbonization targets for 2050. This study systematically analyzes the implementation of green shipping strategies and performance management frameworks within the maritime sector, focusing on the intersection of strategic operations management and corporate social responsibility. Employing a qualitative research design grounded in thematic analysis, cross-group comparison, and narrative synthesis, the study draws upon document analysis and structured expert consultations involving maritime industry professionals, academic researchers, and institutional stakeholders. The findings reveal that effective decarbonization in maritime shipping requires an integrated approach combining technological innovation, regulatory compliance, organizational culture transformation, and multi-stakeholder governance. Three principal themes emerged: the centrality of knowledge management in sustainability transitions, the mediating role of performance evaluation systems in bridging strategic intent and operational outcomes, and the critical importance of adaptive decision-support frameworks for managing trade-offs among environmental, economic, and social objectives. The study contributes to the literature by proposing a conceptual model that links green shipping implementation to operational excellence through sustainability-oriented performance management, offering actionable insights for policymakers, shipping companies, and maritime education institutions.

Abstract

Along with the pace of globalization, and the severity of educational competitions, not a few actors of Islamic higher education tried to integrate two 'educational entities' (university and pesantren), in an integrated education curriculum system. Some were successful, but not a few was failed. This qualitative research article is based on interactive model data analysis technique that aims to 'initiate' the efforts of integrated curriculum development model of excellent higher pesantren at UII Yogyakarta, considering its good institutional achievement, so it should be the pilot project of the integration effort. This research concluded that the indigenous values in integrated curriculum development based on its excellent pesantren are to be oriented at the value of establishment of a 'progressive-inclusive-integrative' scholars candidate. The challenges of its integrated curriculum development include the alignment of synergical idea of university values and modern pesantren; institutionalization of university and pesantren policies; and integrating the curriculum products of university-based pesantren and community service. While, the strategies of its integrated curriculum development are implementing a top down and bottom up approach that involve all its stakehoders through a forum for feasibility of pesantren curriculum development that supported by phases that are determination of the pesantren curriculum enforcement area, development procedures; curriculum implementation; and evaluation results. However, it still needs strengthening ‘the outsider’s perspective’, especially from the users of its pesantren curriculum products in order to be able more adaptive to global needs as the idea of Beauchamp
