Abstract

This study aims to determine the mapping of the development and direction of character education research in publications indexed by Scopus. This study used bibliometric analysis techniques to explore all publications indexed in the Scopus database on character education from 1962 to 2023. The data obtained were analysed using Excel and R/R-Studio. VOSviewer is used to visually analyse the simultaneous occurrence of keywords and document citations. The authors found 1,028 publications that fit the function, subject, and criteria set. The results of this study showed an annual growth rate of 9.26%, with the most publications on character education in 2021. The United States is the country that contributes the most publications with affiliations from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Supriyadi T became the most prolific writer in character education development. The bibliometric analysis performed was limited to Scopus data. Other national and international databases should have been considered in the study. This study presents a brief overview of the literature accessible to character researchers and provides recommendations for future research.

Abstract

The study focused on a spike in suicide rates among college students highlighted in electronic media. The goal is to identify the problems faced by college students as well as how these problems contribute to the emergence of suicidal ideation as an escape option. With qualitative methods through literature studies, this research explores data from various sources such as journals, articles, and related papers. A sociological approach was used to emphasize the need for serious treatment of the problem of suicide among college students. Furthermore, this study confirms the importance of spiritual aspects in the social context as a key to suicide prevention. The concept of Islam-based science, Iman, and Ihsan as a prevention strategy from suicide and depression. These efforts are expected to strengthen social integration, improve mental well-being, and overcome suicides so that it becomes a very crucial discussion in this framework.

Abstract

Tafsir memiliki peranan yang penting untuk memahami ayat-ayat al-Qur’an, para mufassir kerap tersandera oleh latar belakang keilmuan serta idiologi yang menjadi keyakinannya. Saat ini para ulama menggunakan metode tafsir Hermeneutik sebagai alternatif dalam menafsirkan al-Qur’an untuk memahami maksud yang mendalam dari ayat al-Qur’an. Namun, diperlukan kewaspadaan dalam menggunakan metode Hermeneutika, mengingat metode tersebut merupakan hal baru dalam tradisi ulum-l-Qur’an. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan respon Quraish Shihab terhadap metode tafsir Hermeuneutika. Metode penelitian literatur digunakan oleh peneliti untuk mendapatkan data, yang kemudian menganalisisnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan keharusan bagi penafsir untuk berhati-hati dalam menggunakan metode tafsir hermeneutik. Kehati-hatian penafsir didasarkan atas keyakinan atau Akidah yang menjadi prinsip, yang tidak diperkenankan untuk dikorbankan dalam hal toleransi dan lain-lainnya. Ada aspek-aspek intuitif yang perlu menjadi perhatian penafsir, agar tidak terjebak pada keinginan untuk membenarkan ide-ide pikiran pribadi. Dengan Akidah yang benar, mufassir dapat memahami makna al-Qur’an dengan baik.

Abstract

The availability of educators and facilities is a requirement for the achievement of educational goals, but unavailability is not one of the reasons for not implementing education. In this regard, this study aims to analyze the cultivation of Al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan values at SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Surakarta in the midst of limited facilities and educators. This research uses a case study-based qualitative research method. Data collection techniques used were observation, interview and documentation study. Data analysis used miles and huberman techniques, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study explain that the cultivation of Al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan values at SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Surakarta continues to run well despite its limitations. In terms of limited facilities and infrastructure, Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah learning is carried out outside the classroom such as courtyards and parks. In terms of media limitations, learning is carried out by optimizing the function of the blackboard. In terms of limited educators, the learning of Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah is concurrently assigned by the Islamic Education teacher.

Abstract

Berawal dari keresahan bahwa agama Islam ini dilihat hanya dari kulitnya saja, sehingga kedalaman berfikir dan nilai-nilai yang ada didalamnya menjadi biasa-biasa saja dan bahkan mendapat citra buruk dari masyarakat hanya karena seorang muslim tidak tahu menahu mengenai nilai-nilai didalamnya. Fenomena ini jika dibiarkan saja akan menambah ketakutan pada agama Islam itu sendiri, sehingga kata Muhammad Asad mereka-mereka dalam keadaan tersesat karena kesalah pahaman atas nilai-nilai keIslaman yang menjadikan mereka tersesat dan enggan mencari kebenaran atasnya. Sebagai contoh adalah perihal penafsiran Qur’an yang hari ini seakan-akan semua orang berhak menjadi penafsir dan hasil tafsirannya juga setara dengan para mufassir abad pertengahan semisal Ibnu Katsir, Ibnu Taimiyah. Yang pada taraf mengclam bahwa penafsiran para mufasir itu sudah kuno dan ketinggalan zaman. Ini adalah kasus mendasar, bahwa penghormatan atas ilmu pengetahuan dan adab kepada yang tua menjadi nir hingga berani menghina dan menjelekkan karya bahkan sampai ke dalam pribadinya. Penelitian bermaksud untuk untuk membumikan kembali nilai-nilai Islam, dalam ranah mahasiswa yang tidak lain dan bukan dimasa depan akan menjadi corong-corong peradaban

Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dan melaksanakan program pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang berfokus pada penguatan keislaman bagi keluarga Warga Negara Indonesia (WNI) lintas budaya dan Muslim baru di Brisbane, Australia. Program pengabdian ini dilaksanakan melalui kemitraan internasional dengan Indonesian Islamic Society of Brisbane (IISB) dan Pimpinan Ranting Istimewa Muhammadiyah (PRIM) Brisbane, dengan serangkaian kegiatan yang mencakup ceramah agama, pengajian komunitas, sanggar belajar ABATA, diskusi ilmiah mahasiswa, serta kunjungan ke Muhammadiyah Australia College. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini meliputi studi pendahuluan, perencanaan, pelaksanaan, evaluasi, dan laporan, yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman agama Islam di kalangan masyarakat WNI yang tinggal di lingkungan multikultural. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan menunjukkan antusiasme yang tinggi dari peserta, terutama dalam pengajian dan ceramah agama, yang mengarah pada penguatan pemahaman dan penghayatan ajaran Islam. Namun, beberapa program seperti Kelas Tajwid dan Webinar Series tidak dapat terlaksana sepenuhnya karena kendala waktu dan dana. Meskipun demikian, kegiatan ini memberikan kontribusi positif dalam memperkuat identitas agama Islam dan membangun komunitas yang harmonis di tengah keberagaman budaya di Australia. Program ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model bagi pengembangan kegiatan pengabdian serupa di masa depan untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan spiritual komunitas Muslim Indonesia di luar negeri.

Abstract

This study examines the perceived level of organizational citizenship behavior based on Islamic perspective (OCBIP) practices among academic staff in the Indonesian States' Islamic Higher Education Institutions (ISIHEIs). This study also sought to observe differences in the perceived level of OCBIP among academic staff by gender. A quantitative survey method was employed to collect the data from 450 academic staff of six State Islamic Higher Education Institutions (ISIHEIs) across Indonesia using a five-point OCBIP scale. Descriptive statistics, independent-sample t-tests, and bivariate correlations between antecedents of OCBIP were carried out with SPSS software version 25. The analysis of the study exhibits the perceived level of OCBIP practices among academic staff and gender influences on the perceived variables. The hypothesized model of the study added a new theory and knowledge of OCBIP from the Indonesian State Islamic Higher Education Institutions context that can be used to improve organizational effectiveness in ISIHEIs. The study's findings suggest that the value of the OCBIP practices by academic staff can boost the effectiveness of higher education institutions. The study tested, examined, and formulated OCBIP practices for ISIHEIs. The findings also contribute to understanding how OCBIP could be used to develop organizational effectiveness in the context of ISIHEIs.

Abstract

The research background indicates a decline in the critical thinking skills of the Indonesian population, as evidenced by PISA data. Indonesians remain susceptible to misinformation due to insufficient literacy and critical thinking abilities. The researcher aims to disseminate information regarding the Qatar debate competition model, which may be unfamiliar to our academics. Indonesia secured first place in the international Arabic language debate, an achievement that is not widely recognized. The Namlah student activity unit is affiliated with the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta and focuses on Arabic debate. Namlah has participated in multiple debate competitions, including the Arabic language festival at UNS, the UADC-UII in Yogyakarta, and the MTQMN in Aceh. The researcher aims to examine the potential of the Qatar Debate Model System, which utilizes the Asian parliamentary framework, in enhancing students' critical thinking abilities. This field research employs qualitative methods, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, documentation, and interviews, which are subsequently validated through a credibility assessment. Analysis of data involving reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The study's results indicate that the IAUDC model enhances students' critical thinking abilities, with 12 indicators derived from Ennis' theory effectively implemented through this model.

Abstract

The Brain Rhythm Method is a method of memorizing the Al-Quran that uses tonal rhythm and makhaj rhythm techniques in the memorization process by paying attention to the correct legal rules of recitation. This research aims to test the effectiveness of applying the Brain Rhythm Method in improving the quality of Al-Quran memorization in MTA Surakarta High School students. Some intensive tahfidz students experienced a decrease in enthusiasm for memorizing the Al-Quran. An interesting method was applied, namely the Brain Rhythm Method, which can help improve students' memorization of the Al-Quran. Researchers use a qualitative approach, with descriptive analysis research methods. In this study, researchers interviewed 4 musyrifah tahfidz alumni of Kuntum Indonesia, who taught the Brain Rhythm Method at SMA MTA Surakarta. The research object was 100 intensive tahfidz female students. The results of this research can be concluded that the implementation of the Brain Rhythm Method went smoothly and was proven to be effective in improving understanding and quality in memorizing the Al-Quran. This method can also increase students' enthusiasm for memorizing. And the evaluation results obtained were very satisfying, many students achieved targets and exceeded memorized targets. Of course, all of this is the result of collaboration between all parties involved in implementing the Brain Rhythm Method.
