Abstract

The study of Islamic boarding schools has its dynamics and uniqueness. As an Islamic educational institution, the response of Islamic boarding schools to the issue of Covid-19 has had a sizable social impact in shaping the mindset and religious actions of the surrounding community. This study reveals the dynamics and theological struggles within Islamic boarding schools in response to the policy of handling Covid-19 in Mandailing Natal. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, the data informants are residents of Islamic boarding schools consisting of leaders, clerics, students, and the community around the Islamic boarding school. The results of this study found that there were three styles of thinking in each Islamic boarding school in response to the handling of Covid-19, namely conservative, semi-conservative, and non-conservative. In general, Islamic boarding schools accept government policies in dealing with Covid-19, but in practice, Islamic boarding schools tend to ignore the rules. The clerics who are pro in handling Covid-19, provide theological enlightenment to the students and the surrounding community. On the other hand, the clerics who are resistant to handling Covid-19, give the view that Covid-19 is a game by the political elite in government. However, in this case, the resistant kyai did not provoke the students and the community.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a textbook for the philosophy of science based on local wisdom. The research subjects were students of the Pancasila and Civics Education Study Program at Sriwijaya University who took the philosophy of science. The research method is R&D with steps; 1) preliminary study, 2) product development, and 3) product test. Through a preliminary study, the results of the needs analysis were obtained which stated that the philosophy of science textbooks used previously did not contain local wisdom, the number of books as learning resources was still minimal and students wanted unique learning resources, one of which contained the value of local wisdom. Thus, the research team must develop the textbook immediately. The textbook prototype was validated by material experts and linguists and then tested. The result of validation by linguists is 82.5% which means it is valid and the result of material validation by material experts is 84.4% which means it is valid. Tests on students, namely with one-to-one yielded 95% small group 91.2% and field evaluation 90%, and N-Gain 0.4 which means moderate. Thus, it means that textbooks are practical to use and have a potential impact to be used as a source of learning the value of local wisdom

Abstract

The implementation of religious education policies for students of indigenous beliefs in Indonesia faces challenges in regulation, practice, and social acceptance. This study analyzes the disharmony in policy implementation, focusing on three aspects: (1) barriers in implementing religious education policies, (2) the impact on students of indigenous beliefs, and (3) best practices from schools that accommodate their religious education. Using the PRISMA approach, data was gathered through a systematic review of educational regulations, previous research, and online sources like Google Scholar, Scopus, and PubMed. The study identifies three main barriers: juridical, philosophical, and social. These barriers negatively impact students psychologically, causing difficulties in acceptance, trauma, fear, and the need for social advocacy. However, some schools have successfully implemented inclusive education by allowing indigenous belief students to receive religious and moral education according to their faith. These schools foster a tolerant environment, support religious freedom, and promote diversity awareness among students and educators. Their approach can serve as a model for other schools struggling to accommodate indigenous belief students.

Abstract

Moderasi beragama menjadi agenda penting pemerintah beberapa tahun belakangan.

Abstract

3D Printing utilizes the fabrication process of Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), which is an Additive Manufacturing (AM) technology that builds objects layer by layer (Pristiansyah et al., 2019). The use of 3D Printing technology has rapidly increased in recent years, significantly contributing to the quality and cost efficiency of prototype production. TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) filament is often used because it produces heavier, harder, and more durable products. Optimizing the 3D printing process is crucial to achieving optimal results, one of which is through the Response Surface Methodology (RSM) method. In this study, RSM was used with 2 factors to find the best response in tensile strength and material hardness of TPU. The experimental results showed that the optimal parameters for tensile strength are a temperature of around 190°C and a print speed of 45mm/m, resulting in a tensile strength of 2.34 kgf/mm². Meanwhile, for maximum hardness, the optimal parameters are a temperature of 214.15°C and a print speed of 45mm/m, with a hardness value of 72.67 HRR. Thus, the RSM method can be an effective approach in improving the 3D Printing results on TPU material.

The research population consisted of students from grades X, XI, and XII at SMA Negeri 1 Kandis, with a sample of three students from each grade. Data were collected through questionnaires and interviews. The interviews aimed to explore students’ perceptions of the use of technology in mathematics learning at SMA Negeri 1 Kandis, specifically through chat and voice notes (VN) on the WhatsApp application. The interview results were described based on the perception factors applied in this study. The findings showed that the percentage of technology use in mathematics learning was as follows: sometimes 56%, often 28%, always 12%, and never 4%. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of technology in mathematics learning is still very low.

Abstract

This study explicitly captured how the existence of local wisdom interacts with the challenges of implementing community plantation forest programs, which often overlook traditional practices but can lead to changes in deforested land. Data on land cover change, a leading indicator, were obtained from the analysis of Landsat 7 and Landsat 8 satellite imagery, drone observations, and field surveys. Information about the practice of local wisdom in using CPF permit areas in the KPHP Unit VI Muna Island area was collected through in-depth interviews with the community. The forest cover classification was performed using ArcGIS 10.8 software, which combined on-screen digitization with field verification to ensure the accuracy of the satellite imagery data. The analysis results showed significant changes in forest cover during the four observation periods (2010-2022). Notably, there was a significant increase in land use for mixed gardens, accounting for up to 70.29% of the total area. This aligns with kaindea's practice of combining woody plants (forestry and plantations). Meanwhile, dryland and mixed dryland farming decreased to 4.17% and 25.55%, respectively. This practice can create a forest-like landscape that maintains the balance of the karst ecosystem and supports the family economy. These findings not only fill knowledge gaps regarding the integration of karst region-specific local wisdom in social forestry programs but also offer an adaptive model of forest management that can be replicated in similarly vulnerable ecosystems. Integrating local wisdom in vulnerable areas such as karst has proven to be a catalyst in sustainable forest management.
