Abstract

Abstrak Pendidikan karakter melalui sekolah, tidak semata-mata pemberian pengetahuan, tetapi  penanaman moral, nilai-nilai etika, estetika, budi pekerti yang luhur. Salah satu budaya yang berkembang di masyarakat dan sangat dekat dengan peserta didik adalah permainan (rakyat).  Biasanya permainan rakyat menggunakan alat-alat yang masih sederhana yang mudah diperoleh dan ada di sekitar masyarakat setempat. Hal ini sangat sesuai dengan pendidikan matematika realistik Indonesia yang menggagaskan bahwa pembelajaran matematika harus merupakan ‘realitas’ yang dekat dengan peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan analisis pemikiran matematika dan kandungan nilai karakter pada permainan congkak yang dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian inidimulai dengan mengamati permainan congkak secara teliti yang dimainkan oleh peserta didik sekolah SD 018 Teluk Kenidai Kabupaten Kampar. Hasil pengamatan dijadikan dasar untuk melakukan analisis pemikiran matematika dan kandungan nilai karakter dalam permainan congkak. Hasil analisis menunjukan permainan congkak dapat digunakan untuk pengembangan karakter dalam pembelajaran matematika realistik untuk topik aritmatika di kelas 2,3 dan 4 sekolah dasar. Kata Kunci: permainan congkak, pendidikan karakter bangsa, pembelajaran matematika realistic Abstract Character education through school, not merely the provision of knowledge, but the cultivation of moral, ethical values​​, aesthetic, noble manners. One culture that developed in the community and very close to the students is the game (the people). Usually folk games using the tools that are simple, easy to obtain and there around the local community. This is in accordance with Indonesia realistic mathematics education which put forward the learning of mathematics that should be a 'reality' which is close to the learner. This study aims to analyze the mathematical thinking and gynecology conceited character values ​​in a game that can be used in teaching mathematics. Research inidimulai by observing carefully cavalier game played by 018 elementary school students Kenidai Bay Kampar regency. Observations used as the basis for mathematical thinking, and content analysis of the value of the character in the game cocky. The results of the analysis showed cavalier game can be used for the development of realistic characters in learning mathematics to arithmetic topics in class 2,3 and 4 elementary schools. Abstract

Abstract: Mistakes made by students in working on math problems seen from the pattern of students when completing the questions given. The purpose of this study is to look at junior high school student’s mistakes in working on math problems based on Newman’s error analysis of statistical material in terms of student learning styles. The subject of this study were 25 students of class IX at SMPN 1 Mandau in Bengkalis Regency. Research data were collected using written tests and questionnaires to determine student learning styles. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The results of the study were analyzed based on Newman’s error analysis with indicators of errors in reading, errors in understanding problems, errors in transformation, errors in process skills, and writing answers. Student learning styles are group into divergent, convergent, assimilation and accommodation. Errors in transformation generally made to students with divergent, convergent, and accommodation learning styles. Students with an assimilation learning style make more mistakes in process skills. The error is divide into several errors ranging from inappropriate in giving answers to those who do not provide the answer. Abstrak: Kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa dalam mengerjakan soal matematika terlihat dari pola siswa saat menyelesaikan soal-soal yang diberikan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat kesalahan siswa SMP dalam mengerjakan soal matematika berdasarkan analisis kesalahan Newman pada materi statistika ditinjau dari gaya belajar siswa. Subjek penelitian ini 25 siswa kelas IX di SMPN 1 Mandau di Kabupaten Bengkalis. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes tertulis dan angket untuk mengetahui gaya belajar siswa. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian dianalisis berdasarkan analisis kesalahan Newman dengan indikator kesalahan dalam membaca, kesalahan memahami masalah, kesalahan transformasi, kesalahan keterampilan proses, dan kesalahan penulisan jawaban. Gaya belajar siswa dikelompokkan menjadi gaya belajar divergen, konvergen, asimilasi dan akomodasi. Kesalahan dalam transformasi lebih banyak dilakukan oleh siswa dengan gaya belajar divergen, konvergen, dan akomodasi. Siswa dengan gaya belajar asimilasi lebih banyak melakukan kesalahan pada keterampilan proses. Kesalahan tersebut terbagi dalam beberapa kesalahan mulai dari yang kurang tepat dalam memberikan jawaban sampai dengan yang tidak memberikan jawaban.

Abstract

Abstract: The low ability of students to solve problems about surface area and volume of flat side spaces is still a concern and needs improvement. Conducting analysis of student errors is one of the improvement efforts. This study aims to describe the types of errors made by junior high school students in solving surface area problems and the volume of flat side space. This type of research is a qualitative description. Data collection was carried out by means of written tests and interviews. Written tests are used to look at students 'mistakes, while interviews are used to find out more about students' understanding of the questions given. The results of this study indicate that the errors made by students in completing the problem of surface area and volume of flat side space are: 1) conceptual errors, 2) operating errors and 3) procedural errors. The percentage of conceptual errors, which is 41.11 percent. The percentage of operating errors was 6.11 percent, and the percentage of procedural errors was 21.67 percent. Given the large percentage of conceptual errors made by students, it is expected to be able to change the teacher's strategy in teaching the material surface area and volume of flat side spaces to better enhance students' conceptual understanding. Abstrak: Rendahnya kemampuan siswa untuk memecahkan masalah tentang luas permukaan dan volume ruang sisi datar masih menjadi perhatian dan perlu perbaikan. Melakukan analisis kesalahan siswa adalah salah satu upaya peningkatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan jenis kesalahan yang dibuat oleh siswa sekolah menengah pertama dalam memecahkan masalah luas permukaan dan volume ruang sisi datar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskripsi kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes tertulis dan wawancara. Tes tertulis digunakan untuk melihat kesalahan siswa, sedangkan wawancara digunakan untuk mencari tahu lebih banyak tentang pemahaman siswa tentang pertanyaan yang diberikan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah luas permukaan dan volume ruang sisi datar adalah: 1) kesalahan konseptual, 2) kesalahan teknikal dan 3) kesalahan prosedural. Persentase kesalahan konseptual, yaitu 41,11 persen. Persentase kesalahan teknikal adalah 6,11 persen, dan persentase kesalahan prosedural adalah 21,67 persen. Mengingat persentase besar kesalahan konseptual yang dibuat oleh siswa, diharapkan dapat mengubah strategi guru dalam mengajar area permukaan material dan volume ruang sisi datar untuk lebih meningkatkan pemahaman konseptual siswa.

Abstract

This research is based on the low mathematical representation ability of students and the lack of textbooks used by teachers in presenting teaching material. This study aims to describe the results of the development of information technology-based teaching materials to improve the mathematical representation ability of students in class X Trigonometry Function Materials that are valid, practical, and effective. The model used in this research development is the ADDIE development model, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research instruments used in this article are validation sheets (validity aspects), teacher assessment sheets and student assessment sheets (practical aspects), and mathematical representation ability tests (effectiveness aspects). Analysis of the data used in this research is parametric statistics, the t-test with the help of SPSS 18.00 using the Independent-Sample t-Test. This research resulted in a product of teaching materials based on information and technology in valid mathematics (87.11%), practical (90.81%) and effective (0.043 <0.05).

Abstract

The problems that often become student complaints are the difficulty of understanding abstract questions provided in textbooks facilitated by the school, in mathematics learning not all teachers connect the material being taught with contextual problems that exist around students, and also based on the results of researchers' interviews with field teachers. information was obtained that the teacher had never combined the theme of Riau Malay culture with the material being taught. Therefore, we need a solution by making a teaching material in the form of an e-module based on the Riau Malay culture. The purpose of this study was to analyze the need for ethnomatic-based e-modules by integrating Riau Malay culture for grade VIII students of SMP / MTs. The research method used is qualitative descriptive method. The subjects of this research were the mathematics teachers at MTs Fadhilah and the eighth grade students of MTs Fadhilah in Pekanbaru. Analysis of research data using Analysis Interactive Miles-Huberman which includes data reduction, data presentation, and making conclusions. The results obtained in this study are that it is necessary to develop teaching materials in the form of e-modules based on the ethnomatics of the Malay Malay culture of building material on the flat side of class VIII SMP / MTs.

Abstract

KIAT categorizes three types of mistakes: conceptual, procedural, and technical errors. This study analyzes student errors in solving mathematical problems on linear programming material based on student learning interests. The subjects of this study were 15 Year 10 students of Taxation Vocational High School majoring in business and management taken based on learning interests. This study employed a descriptive method with tests and questionnaires as the instruments. The outcomes confirmed that students with high interest in learning made 13 mistakes, while 19 and 20 errors were for students with moderate and low interest in learning, respectively. Of all the errors, based on the student's interest in learning, conceptual and procedural errors were the most common errors (20 errors each). It can be concluded that the more positive students’ attitudes, the lower the errors they make, especially on conceptual errors.

Abstract

Abstract Mistakes in solving math problems are common for students. Most teachers often do not pay attention to the types of mistakes made by students. The types of mistakes made by students can be one of the successful benchmarks of mathematics. This study aims to describe the types of problems of students in solving mathematics problems at Al-Kindi Middle School Pekanbaru. The research method used is descriptive research with a form of qualitative research. Data collection techniques used are tests and interview, data analysis techniques used descriptive qualitative and quantitative. Subjects in the study were 26 students and objects that answered tangent questions circle 5 questions. Based on the results of data analysis it can be concluded: students make fact errors 17%, concept errors 34%, principle errors 39% and operating errors 10%. The biggest type of error is a mistake in principle and concept. The implication is that teachers need to understand the concepts and principles when teaching, so the level of errors in solving problems is low. and to the next researchers, to be able to carry out further in-depth research to improve the quality of mathematics education in schools related to students' mistakes in solving tangent circle material questions. Abstract

This is a case study to describe students' mathematical problem-solving abilities based on the level of independent learning on the probability chapter. The research subjects were ten students of MAN 1 Indragiri Hilir consist of two students for each level, which were very low, low, medium, high, and very high. Data collection uses problem-solving tests, questionnaires, and unstructured interviews. The results of Polya's problem-solving on the probability chapter are the high category for very high independence learner, the medium category for high and medium independence learner, and the low category for low and very low independence learner. The step of Polya's problem-solving which is not done optimally by each student of independent learning is verification (look back) the process and answer the question.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know algebra thinking process of students in rectangular material reviewed from Mathematics ability and gender. The method of this research was qualitative descriptive. The research subjects were 9 female students and 9 male students of grade IX with high, medium, and low Mathematics ability. The research instruments were test and interview. The research results show that female students with high ability have algebra thinking. Male students with high ability have algebra thinking but indicator of concluding and rechecking was not fulfilled yet. Female students with medium ability have algebra thinking but there was carelessness in the calculation. Male students with medium ability have started to thought algebra but at indicator of interpreting and applying Mathematics findings was not fulfilled yet. Female and male students with low ability do not think algebra yet because all indicators were not fulfilled. This occurred because they still did not understand algebra concept until they could not solve Mathematics problem. Female and male students with high and medium ability who already thought algebra can solve Mathematics problem. However, female and male students with low ability still do not think algebra until they cannot solve the problem.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kebutuhan pengembangan E-modul Etnomatematikaberbasis budaya melayu Kepulauan Riau pada materi transformasi geometri. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara terhadap guru yang mengampu mata pelajaran matematika kelas IX dan memberikan angket terhadap responden menggunakan Google Form kepada guru dan siswa. Objek pada penelitian ini adalah analisis pengembangan e-modul Etnomatematika berbasis budaya melayu Kepulauan Riau pada materi transformasi geometri. Subjek penelitian ini ialah peserta kelas X IPS SMA Negeri 2 Tanjungpinangyang berjumlah 129 orang, 27 siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 7 Tanjungpinang dan satu orang guru matematika kelas IX SMP Negeri 7 Tanjungpinang. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu analisis kurikulum, analisis materi dan analisis kondisi lapangan berdasarkan latar belakang budaya. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diperoleh bahwa dibutuhkan oleh siswa suatu bahan ajar berupa modul berbasis elektronik yang dapat membantu siswa memahami matematika terutama pada materi transformasi geometri serta dapat mengaitkan pembelajaran matematika tersebut dengan budaya sehari-hari di lingkungan sekitar siswa.The purpose of this study was to determine the need for developing an E-module based on Malay culture in KepulauanRiau Ethnomathematics on the material of geometric transformation. This study used qualitative research methods. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviewing teachers who teach mathematics in class IX and giving questionnaires to respondents using Google Forms to teachers and students. The object of this research is the analysis of the development of the Ethnomathematics e-module based on the Malay culture of the Kepulauan Riau on the material of geometric transformation. The subjects of this study were 129 class X Social Studies students at SMA Negeri 2 Tanjungpinang, 27 class IX students at SMP Negeri 7 Tanjungpinang and one math teacher for class IX at SMP Negeri 7 Tanjungpinang. The data collection methods used are curriculum analysis, material analysis and field condition analysis based on cultural background. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that students need a teaching material in the form of an electronic-based module that can help students understand mathematics, especially on the material of geometric transformation and can relate the learning of mathematics to the everyday culture in the environment around students.
