Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to improve the learning process and the student’s mathematical problem solving skill by applying Problem Based Learning model. This type of research is classroom action research with two cycles. This research was conducted in collaboration between researcher and teacher of mathematics. Subjects were students of class X MIA MA Muhammadiyah Pekanbaru. The study was conducted in the first semester of academic year 2019/2020. The research instrument consists of mathematical learning instruments and instruments to collect data. Mathematical learning instruments used in this study are syllabus, lesson plans, and activity sheets. Data collection instruments used in this study is observation sheets and mathematical problem solving tests. Data analysis technique in this study is analysis descriptive narrative of qualitative data and descriptive statistical analysis of quantitative data. The result of this study showed that the implementation of PBL improved the learning process and the student’s mathematical problem solving skill. The student’s average score in cycle I which is 70,92 had improved to 86,98 in cycle II. The improvement also found in the indicator average score in identifying the problem, devising a plan to solve the problem, carrying out the plan to solve the problem, and interpreting the solution. This study concludes that the implementation of PBL improved the learning process and the student’s mathematical problem solving skill at class X MIA MA Muhammadiyah Pekanbaru. PBL model can be used as an alternative to learning, because through this learning can improve the learning process and mathematical problem solving skill of the students.Key Words: Problem Based Learning, Mathematical Problem Solving Skill, Learning Process.

Abstract

Indikasi banyaknya jumlah siswa yang tidak dapat menyelesaikan soal limit fungsi aljabar yang diberikan di kelas XI MAN 1 Pekanbaru, menggambarkan adanya permasalahan siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor penyebab siswa tidak menyelesaikan soal limit fungsi aljabar, khususnya siswa di kelas XI SMA/MA. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah 22 orang siswa kelas XI IIS 4 MAN 1 Pekanbaru tahun pelajaran 2019/2020. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah angket untuk mengetahui faktor penyebab siswa tidak menyelesaikan soal limit fungsi aljabar berupa faktor fisiologis, faktor psikologis, faktor materi, faktor lingkungan sekolah, faktor lingkungan keluarga, dan faktor lingkungan masyarakat. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa faktor terbesar yang menyebabkan siswa tidak menyelesaikan soal materi limit fungsi aljabar yaitu faktor materi (50%) dan yang paling sedikit adalah faktor fisiologis (18%). Hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi rujukan bagi guru untuk dapat lebih menekankan konsep limit fungsi dalam bentuk akar dengan menggunakan strategi dan model pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan karakteristik siswa dan kebutuhan materi.Students' Causative Factor Unable to Solve The Algebraic Limit Function?s ProblemsAbstractThe indication that many of the students were not able to solve the  algebraic function limit?s  problems given in class XI MAN 1 Pekanbaru, it pointed out that there were some student's problem. This research aims to analyze the factors that caused many of the students were not able to solve the  algebraic function limit?s  problems, especially students in class XI SMA/MA. The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative research. The subject of this research were 22 students of class XI IIS 4 MAN 1 Pekanbaru in the academic year 2019/2020. The instrument used in this research was a questionnaire to determine the factors caused students were not able to solve the algebraic function limit problems in the form of physiological factors, psychological factors, topic factors, school environmental factors, family environmental factors, and community environmental factors. The analysis results showed that the biggest factor caused students were not able to solve the problems about algebraic function limit was the topic factors (50%) and the least factor was the physiological factors (18%). The results of this study can be a reference for teachers to be able to emphasize the concept of limit functions in the form of roots by using strategies and learning models that are in accordance with student characteristics and material needs.

Abstract

Pada abad 21 diperlukan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi (HOTs) yang mencakup kemampuan berpikir kritis dan berpikir kreatif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan interpretasi, analisis, inferensi, kelancaran dan orisinalitas siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal pola dan barisan bilangan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah deskriptif kualitatif dan subjek sebanyak 40 siswa yang terdiri 19 siswa SMPN 5 Bantan dan 21 Siswa MTS Al-Huda. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa (1) tes tertulis yang berorientasikan HOTs dan (2) pedoman wawancara.  Hasil tes menunjukkan rata-rata HOTs siswa SMPN 5 Bantan (49,34) dan MTS Al-Huda (45,12) berkategori cukup.  Skor tiap indikator HOTs untuk siswa SMPN 5 Bantan diketahui bahwa interpretasi= 48,68, analisis= 40,13, inferensi= 64,47, kelancaran= 52,68 dan orisinalitas= 40,79 sedangkan untuk siswa MTs Al-Huda adalah interpretasi= 61,18, analisis= 40,79, inferensi= 53,57, kelancaran= 38,16 dan orisinalitas= 45,24. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara juga diketahui bahwa rendahnya HOTs siswa dikarenakan siswa tidak terbiasa dalam menyelesaikan soal HOTs serta tidak tersedianya soal-soal HOTs yang secara khusus mengukur HOTs di sekolah, sehingga diharapkan adanya penelitian lebih lanjut mengenai soal-soal HOTs.Students' Thinking Ability in Solving HOTs Questions on Material Patterns and Rows of NumbersAbstractIn the 21st century, higher order thinking skills (HOTs) are needed which include critical thinking skills and creative thinking. The purpose of this study is to describe the students? ability of interpretation, analysis, inference, fluency and originality in solving questions about patterns and rows of numbers. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative and as many as 40 students consisting of 19 students of SMPN 5 Bantan and 21 students of Al-Huda MTS. The instrument used in the form of (1) written tests oriented to HOTs and (2) interview guidelines. The test results showed the average level of SMPN 5 Bantan students? HOTs (49.34) and MTS Al-Huda (45.12) was categorized as sufficient. The score of each indicator of HOTs for SMPN 5 Bantan students is known that interpretation= 48.68, analysis= 40.13, inference= 64.47, fluency= 52.68 and originality= 40.79 while for MTs Al-Huda students are interpretation= 61.18, analysis= 40.79, inference= 53.57, fluency= 38.16 and originality= 45.24. Based on the interview results it is also known that the low level of students? HOTs is because students are not accustomed to solving HOTs questions and the unavailability of HOTs questions that specifically measure HOTs in schools, so it is hoped that further research on questions of HOTs.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the quality of the test on multiple choice questions in mathematics for Year End Assessment (PAT) class VIII SMPN 2 Bangkinang Kota for the 2019/2020 academic year based on the level of question validity, reliability level, difficulty level, distinguishing power, and option effectiveness cheater). This research is an evaluation with a quantitative descriptive approach. The research was conducted with a sample of 30 student answer sheets. Techniques for collecting data are documentation techniques. After the data is collected, the data will be analyzed with the help of Excel. Judging from the results of this analysis, it can be seen that the End of Year Assessment (PAT) questions for class VIII SMPN 2 Bangkinang Kota for the 2019/2020 academic year were not carried out by quantitative reviewers. Judging from the level of validity, it consists of 14 valid questions, while the other 16 questions are said to be invalid. The PAT questions have a high level of reliability. As for the difficulty level of the questions, there are 7 items (23.33%) difficult, 18 items (60%) moderate, and 5 items (16.66%) easy. The distinguishing power is 8 questions that are bad (26.66%), 7 questions with sufficient criteria (23.33%), 7 questions with good criteria (23.33%), and 8 questions with very good criteria (26.66%) ). For the effectiveness of the option, 4 items (13.33%) were very good, 15 items (50%) were good, 9 items (30%) were bad, and 2 items (6.33%) were very bad. So that based on the results of the quantitative test, it turns out that most of the items were not of good quality for Class VIII Year End Assessment (PAT) for the 2019/2020 school year.

Abstract

Mathematics is a means of scientific thinking to lead to the development of science and technology that is very important and useful in everyday life so that mathematics is studied at every level of education from elementary school to college. Efforts are made to improve education in Indonesia by making changes in learning one of them with interactive multimedia. By making changes in teacher learning can be the more efficient time in learning so that it does not run out just to be repeatedly written and teachers are helped by the presence of interactive multimedia. The research was conducted at 4 state junior high schools/ MTs, Dumai in October 2020. The purpose of the research is to find out the ability of teachers in creating interactive multimedia. The data analysis used refers to the analysis of quantitative data obtained from questionnaires with 14 respondents. The subject of the study was a math teacher in the 4 schools. The sample in this study was 14 teachers using purposive sampling techniques. Based on research obtained from the results of the questionnaire, there were two teachers who had the highest score of 76.66% and the lowest score of 50% was also obtained by two teachers. The average teacher in four schools after getting training guidance can already be in the creation of interactive multimedia using the Microsoft PowerPoint application.

Abstract

Abstract: This research is a development research which aims to producemathematics learning tools. The resulting learning devices in the form of syllabus,lesson plan (RPP) and student activity sheet (LAS) based on Problem Based Learning on linear program material for grade XI senior high school students. The development model used is the 4-D model which consists of the Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages. Data collection instruments used in this study were validation sheets and student response questionnaires. The learning tools developed were validated by three validators and revised based on validator’s suggestion, and studentactivity sheet evaluated by three high school students to see the readability of student activity sheet. The average percentage of validation result for Syllabus is 95.83%, lesson plan (RPP) 96.09%, and student activity sheet (LAS) 95.63%, so the learning tools are categorized as very valid. Then, a small group trial were conducted of the student activity sheeet which was developed on six students of SMA Negeri 1 Bukit Batu. The average practicaly percentage for student activity sheet is 86.25% with a verypractical category. Based on the results of data analysis, it is concluded that the mathematics learning device developed has met the valid and practical criteria for using by class XI senior high school students.Key Words: Mathematics Learning Tools, Problem Based Learning Model, Linear Program, 4-D Development Model

Abstract

This study aims to determine the profile of digital literacy skills possessed by students in online learning mathematics. This research is a quantitative study. The subjects in this study were students of 9th Grade Imam Syafi'i Junior High School Batam, which may amount to 30 students. The data technique used was a questionnaire, with descriptive data analysis. Based on the research results, it can be seen that the level of digital literacy skills possessed by students is 80% and is in the good category. Where the skill level of each digital literacy indicator, namely internet search skills, was 86% in the very good category, while the hypertext direction guideline skills were 73%, information content evaluation was 82%, and knowledge compilation skills were 82%, the total was in the good category. Furthermore, the results also showed that the most ICT devices used by students in accessing the internet were smartphones 21 students, with 22 students private ownership. The purpose of most students in accessing the internet was to find information 14 students, and the most students accessed in using the internet were academic content 14 students.

Abstract

Saat ini semua bidang kehidupan di seluruh dunia sedang menghadapi pandemi COVID-19 dan dunia pendidikan tidak terlepas dari dampaknya, sehingga menuntut perubahan dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar. Indonesia-pun mengalami dampak sangat serius dari penyebaran covid ini,sehingga pendidikan anak usia dini harus belajar dengan cara jarak jauh yang sesuai dengan kebijakan menteri Pendidikan. Dalam jurnal ini saya fokus pada proses pembelajaran di KB-TK Nusantara khususnya usia 5-6 tahun, yaitu bagaimana caranya agar anak bisa tetap belajar dengan senang dan menikmati pengetahuan dari media di rumah masing-masing dan dapat pula meningkatkan kemampuan motorik anak melalui media pembelajaran loose parts. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah agar anak usia dini lebih kreatif, memiliki kemampuan berimajinasi serta dapat merakit barang-barang bekas atau barang daur ulang menjadi mainan yang berguna, serta bagaimana anak bertumbuh dan berkembang menjadi pribadi yang selalu mencintai dan menghargai lingkungan. Penelitian yang saya gunakan di KB-TK Nusantara adalah dengan cara Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dan kelas yang digunakan adalah kelas TK B atau usia 5-6 tahun. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah media pembelajaran dengan cara bermain dengan diri sendiri atau media yang ada di lingkungannya, serta memakai bahan-bahan bekas yang dapat ditemukan dilingkungannya

Abstract

Dunia saat ini menghadapi pandemi global yang disebabkan penyebaran Corona Virus Disease atau disebut COVID-19, Indonesia pun mengalami dampak yang cukup serius dari penyebaran penyakit ini. Merespon pandemi global Covid-19 ini, Menteri Pendidikan membuat kebijakan untuk melaksanakan proses Belajar dari rumah (BDR). Media yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk melaksanakan BDR adalah menggunakan media sosial dan media lingkungan sekitar yang bisa dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber belajar anak dirumah. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif yaitu Mendeskripsikan media pembelajaran yang digunakan dan penerapannya di RA Al Mustaqim, Bogor. Tehnik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah media pembelajaran daring berupa pemanfaatan media lingkungan sekitar rumah. Dengan media ini anak menjadi lebih percaya dan seolah – olah belajar disekolah normal.
