This article analyzes the leadership typology applied by the Headmaster of MTs.N 1 Makassar to improve the quality of education. Before analyzing it, the data were collected through triangulation of techniques and data sources. The same data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation guided by the relevant research instruments. In terms of data sources, triangulation is applied by integrating data sources from informants, documents, and empirical facts observed to obtain the same data. It aims to ensure that the data presented can be trusted for its validity and accuracy. The data collected was reduced, systematized, and analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. After going through the series, the leadership type of the madrasah principle is summarized in three keywords, namely democratic, humanist, and collective types. The leadership typology is based on modern theories and the values of local wisdom sitinaja, sipakatau, and sipakalebbi'. Integration between modern management theory and local wisdom can touch the sense of humanity and togetherness of madrasa stakeholders. It can support establishing a positive influence environment for all madrasa stakeholders to realize quality madrasa education services jointly. Based on that, a headmaster of madrasa must have integral intellectual, managerial, and spiritual competence and understand the values of local wisdom that stakeholders uphold. The indicators for the achievement of quality improvement are assessed from several achievements and the satisfaction of various parties. Keywords: Leadership Typology, School Leadership, Increasing Education Quality

Abstract

Non-Performing Financing (NPF) is financing that does not comply with the initial contract schedule, causing disruption to the cash flow of Islamic microfinance institutions. The average Non-Performing Financing (NPF) of Islamic Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) in 2023 reached 13.09%. The urgency of this study reveals that Islamic MFIs or popularly called as Baitul Maal wa Taamwil (BMT) can be an alternative platform to enhance financial inclusion since they reach out even remote areas. However, NPF is often a problem faced by BMT. The purpose of this study is to analyse the issue of NPF in Islamic MFIs in Indonesia. The study also examines strategies to address issue of NPF in Islamic MFIs in Indonesia. To achieve the research objectives, the method used is through a qualitative approach with Analytic Network Process (ANP) used to be as analysis technique. Primary data sources were obtained through forum group discussions (FGDs) and pair-wise questionnaires and interviews with 10 respondents who are considered experts in related fields. The results of this study indicate that based on the ANP results internal management issue as main problem that causes NPF occur, followed by internal human resource issues, debtor/customer issues and regulatory issues. Main priority of the settlement strategy of NPF include strategy of improving internal management by improving internal human resources, then increasing sharia literacy, and government policy. The study suggests as the issues on internal management is in top rank, the Islamic MFIs should improve internal management elements including enhancing accountability and conducting professional administration.

Abstract

Graphene oxide and reduced graphene oxide have been widely studied as a biomass-sourced alternative to graphene for their various capabilities, e.g. as adsorbent. This publication reports the preparation of graphite (g), graphene oxide (GO), and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) from coconut shell (1) and sugarcane bagasse (2) using matoa leaves extract as reducing agent, characterized by XRD, FT-IR, and Raman spectroscopy. The X-ray diffractogram showed 2θ peaks between 22.8°–23.8° for g1, GO1, and rGO1, and between 23.6°–25.8° for g2, GO2, and rGO2. FT-IR spectra of both sets of GO and rGO showed common peaks of O–H (~3400 cm–1), C–H (~2900 cm–1), and C–OH (~1600 cm–1), while also some noticeable differences between the sets. Raman spectra of both rGO showed D peak (~1400 cm–1), G peak (~1700 cm–1), and weak 2D peaks (2700–3300 cm–1) with ID/IG of 0.93 and 0.91 for rGO1 and rGO2, respectively. The obtained g, GO, and rGO were used as adsorbent for methylene blue dye. The adsorption study involved variation in dye concentration, contact time, and amount of adsorbent. It was found that rGO performs best as adsorbent compared to GO and g, with maximum adsorption capacity of 22.308 μg/mg (rGO1) and 47.533 μg/mg (rGO2). Adsorbents prepared from sugarcane bagasse were found to perform better due to its easiness of carbonization compared to coconut shell.

Abstract

Ceftriaxone (CEF) is a β-lactam antibiotic widely used in the medical field to treat various bacterial infections in both humans and animals. The high usage of CEF has the potential to cause environmental pollution and antimicrobial resistance, necessitating effective treatment methods. In this study, the adsorption method is proposed using Ni/Al layered double hydroxide (LDH) and Camellia sinensis extract-modified material (Ni/Al-CSe) as a sustainable bio-modification approach. The results show the optimal adsorption pH for Ni/Al LDH is 3 and for Ni/Al-CSe is 5, with the adsorption isotherms following the Freundlich model and the kinetics conforming to pseudo-first order (PFO). The maximum adsorption capacity (Qm) significantly increased from 28.818 mg.g-1 (Ni/Al LDH) to 111.111 mg.g-1 (Ni/Al-CSe). Thermodynamic analysis revealed that adsorption on both materials proceeds spontaneously, while the consistently more negative ΔG values and predominantly exothermic behavior of Ni/Al-CSe confirm its superior thermodynamic favorability associated with more specific surface interactions. Regeneration tests up to four cycles showed that Ni/Al-CSe was more stable than Ni/Al LDH. Overall, modifying Ni/Al LDH with Camellia sinensis extract was proven to enhance adsorption capacity, spontaneity, and stability, providing an effective and environmentally friendly solution for antibiotic treatment. Abstract

This study aims to enhance Islamic financial inclusion in rural and eastern regions of Indonesia through innovative strategies, focusing on challenges related to access, literacy, infrastructure, and public trust issues. Using a qualitative library-based approach, this study analyzes literature from indexed journals, reports from the Financial Services Authority (OJK), and government policies published between 2018 and 2025. Data collection involves systematic literature searches using keywords such as “Islamic financial inclusion” and “Islamic fintech.” Content analysis is employed to identify patterns, challenges, and formulate strategies, with source triangulation to ensure validity. Research Findings Islamic financial inclusion in Indonesia stands at only 12.88%, significantly lower than the national inclusion rate (75.02%), due to limited access in rural areas (68.49%), low Islamic financial literacy (39.11%), geographic barriers, inadequate infrastructure, and product mismatches. Innovative strategies include: (1) contextual financial products such as musyarakah-based financing, (2) infrastructure strengthening through Islamic rural banks (BPRS) and digitalization, (3) financial literacy education, and (4) community-based awareness campaigns. Islamic fintechs (e.g., Alami, Ammana) show potential to overcome geographic constraints, though they are hindered by limited Internet penetration (60%) and digital literacy. These innovative strategies offer practical guidance for stakeholders to boost Islamic financial inclusion through contextual products, digitalization, community-based education, and women’s empowerment via MSMEs, supporting poverty alleviation and inclusive economic growth.

Abstract

Enhancing Students’ Motivation for Higher Education through Educational Level Socialization at Madrasah Aliyah Mambaul Ulum, Kubu Raya Regency Abstract The low motivation of madrasah students in rural areas to continue their higher education indicates an academic gap related to limited literacy in further education, scholarship information, and the lack of madrasah-based career mentoring models that are rarely scientifically studied in the context of strengthening student self-determination. To address this urgency, this activity implemented participatory socialization for 80 students of Madrasah Aliyah Mambaul Ulum through material presentations, motivational sessions, interactive discussions, and descriptive evaluations using pre- and post-tests that functioned as early indicators of changes in understanding, not as psychometric validation instruments. The evaluation results showed an increase in understanding scores from an average of 45% to 88%, and 90% of students reported an increased interest in continuing their education. These findings indicate a positive trend after the intervention, although it cannot be claimed as a causal relationship because it did not involve a control group. The novelty of this activity lies in the integration of a two-way socialization model with alumni testimonials and scholarship booklets as a social innovation approach to education that enriches the study of learning motivation in rural madrasah environments.

Abstract

The phenomenon of gamification in virtual asset trading has transformed investment behavior into an activity driven by psychological mechanisms such as Fear of Missing Out (FOMO), overconfidence, herding behavior, and loss aversion. This study aims to analyze how gamified design in digital trading platforms fosters speculative behavior that violates Islamic ethical principles such as tawazun (balance between risk and benefit), gharar (excessive uncertainty), and maisir (gambling). Employing a qualitative approach through a systematic literature review of academic journals and industry reports, the study finds that features such as real-time notifications, leaderboards, and reward animations increase trading frequency, risk-taking, and market volatility. These dynamics create asymmetry in risk and reward, disproportionately harming low-literacy retail investors. The study concludes that digital financial innovation must be balanced with ethical regulation, financial literacy, and maslahah-based design to ensure market justice and sustainability in line with Islamic economic principles. This research contributes to strengthening Islamic financial ethics and integrating maqasid al-shariah values into modern digital finance innovation
