Abstract

This study investigated an integrated treatment system combining coagulation, adsorption, filtration, and ceramic membrane processes for songket dyeing wastewater. Textile wastewater is characterized by high color intensity, suspended solids, and organic loads, which can cause serious environmental impacts if discharged without adequate treatment. Coagulation using aluminum sulfate effectively destabilizes colloidal particles, followed by adsorption with activated carbon to remove dissolved dyes and organic compounds. Multimedia filtration and ceramic membrane filtration further enhance pollutant removal through physical separation mechanisms. The integrated system successfully achieved color reduction from 976.5 Pt-Co to 10.6 Pt-Co, TSS reduction exceeding 98%, and COD reduction above 93%, in accordance with Indonesian wastewater discharge standards for the textile industry (KLHK, 2016).Keywords: Songket Wastewater, Coagulation, Adsorption, Filtration, Ceramic Membrane

Abstract

This paper examines the role of rationalism in Tafs?r al-M?z?n f? Tafs?r al-Qur’?n by All?mah Muhammad Husayn al-?ab??ab??? and its contribution to the formation of Islamic modernity. Departing from the epistemological crisis in contemporary Islamic thought—marked by tension between literalistic textualism and modern rationality—this study emphasizes the urgency of integrating reason and revelation within Qur’anic exegesis. Employing a qualitative library research approach with content analysis, this study analyzes al-?ab??ab???’s works alongside relevant secondary literature. The findings reveal that rationalism in Tafs?r al-M?z?n functions as an epistemological paradigm that positions reason as a primary hermeneutical instrument while maintaining the authority of revelation. Through the method of interpreting the Qur’an by the Qur’an (bil-Qur’?n bi al-Qur’?n), rational ta’w?l, and philosophical reflection, al-?ab??ab??? establishes a synthesis between classical Islamic intellectual tradition and the demands of modernity. This rationalist approach contributes to the construction of an Islamic modernity that is inclusive, ethical, and responsive to contemporary issues such as pluralism, social ethics, and the relationship between religion and science. Thus, Tafs?r al-M?z?n represents a model of Islamic modernity rooted in revelation, guided by rationality, and oriented toward spiritual and social transformation.

Abstract

The transition toward net-zero-emission power grids has become increasingly challenging due to the growing penetration of renewable energy, the integration of energy storage, and the implementation of carbon-control policies. These developments increase the operational complexity of modern power systems and require optimization approaches capable of managing multiple technical and environmental constraints. Objective: This study aims to evaluate and compare the roles of classical optimization and quantum-inspired optimization in supporting the operation of low-carbon power grids under different energy-transition scenarios. Method: This research employed a quantitative approach using scenario-based modeling and simulation. The power-grid model integrated renewable energy sources, battery energy storage, and carbon-control mechanisms. Several transition scenarios were evaluated by varying renewable-energy targets, carbon prices, and emission caps. Comparative analysis was conducted using classical optimization based on Mixed-Integer Linear Programming (MILP) as the global optimum benchmark and quantum-inspired optimization based on simulated annealing as an alternative solution approach. Findings: The results show that classical optimization produces better solution quality and higher computational efficiency than the quantum-inspired approach. However, the quantum-inspired method is still able to generate feasible and stable solutions, particularly under scenarios with high renewable-energy penetration and strict emission constraints. Implications: These findings suggest that quantum-inspired optimization has practical potential as a complementary tool for supporting low-carbon power-grid operation and energy-transition planning, especially in increasingly complex systems. Originality: The novelty of this study lies in the direct comparison between classical and quantum-inspired optimization within a unified low-carbon power-grid simulation framework. The study provides added value by positioning quantum-inspired optimization as a complement, rather than a substitute, to classical optimization in net-zero-emission power-grid transition.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a conceptual framework for revitalizing the economic thought of Prof. Dr. Sumitro Djojohadikusumo as a strategic roadmap toward Indonesia’s economic sovereignty in the digital and globalization era. Using a qualitative approach based on library research, this study systematically examines primary and secondary literature on Sumitro’s thought, development theory, and contemporary digital economic dynamics through content analysis. The findings introduce the concept of “Digital Economic Nationalism” as an adaptation of Sumitro’s development trilogy economic growth, national stability, and equitable development into the digital context, operationalized through the “Digital Gotong Royong Economy” model. This model integrates rural digital infrastructure, local economic platforms, digital cooperatives, sustainable financing, and the protection of national economic value. The results demonstrate that Sumitro’s intellectual legacy remains relevant and offers a theoretical and practical alternative to the dominant neoliberal model in the digital economy, while opening new avenues for nationally grounded digital political economy studies.

Abstract

This study aimed to delineate segments of the Enim River based on the Water Quality Index (WQI), using the Pollution Index (PI) as the primary method. Water quality data were collected from 14 monitoring stations between 2022 and 2024, covering several physicochemical and biological parameters. Hierarchical Cluster Analysis (HCA) was applied to classify stations based on similarities in pollution patterns. The results identified three main segments: stations with relatively good water quality, stations with fluctuating pollution levels, and stations with high pollution requiring priority attention. This approach provides a comprehensive spatial and temporal overview, supporting the development of more targeted and evidence-based river management policies. The study points to the WQI as an effective and accessible tool for assessing water quality, enhancing stakeholder understanding, and serving as a foundation for river conservation and restoration planning.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a crucial role in Indonesia’s economy by contributing significantly to employment and national economic growth. However, many MSMEs still face structural challenges, particularly limited access to financing and low digital readiness. In the era of digital economy expansion, Islamic microfinance institutions have the potential to support MSME digital transformation through inclusive and Sharia-compliant financial services. This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic microfinance institutions in supporting the digitalization of MSMEs in Indonesia.  This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using a literature review method. Data were collected from academic journals, government reports, and policy documents sourced from databases such as Google Scholar and national journal repositories. The selected literature was analyzed using content analysis through data reduction, categorization, and thematic interpretation. The findings show that Islamic microfinance institutions contribute to MSME digitalization by expanding access to Sharia-compliant financing, providing business mentoring, and improving managerial and digital capacities of MSME actors. However, challenges remain, including limited capital, low digital literacy, and technological constraints. Islamic microfinance institutions play a strategic role in supporting inclusive and sustainable MSME digitalization in Indonesia.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the nation-building discourse and movement in Southeast Asia, particularly in Aceh-Indonesia and Pattani-Thailand. The significance of this research lies in the fact that these two regions share similar characteristics. Among them are socio-cultural and religio-political situations as conflict-affected areas with the dynamics of national discourse, and fluctuate views on national integration with the state. Islamic educational institutions in these two regions have contributed significantly in the formation of the nation-state. Dayah in Aceh and Pondok in Pattani not only serve as the centres of Islamic studies and character building for the community, but also function as the stage for social, cultural and political movements. Thus, Dayah and Pondok became the institutions to shape Islamic extremist as well as the agent to strengthen political identity. This article attempts to explain the genealogy of Islamic education and the metamorphosis of national discourse in these two regions. In addition, this article will also reveal the role of local actors in ethno-religious discourses and movements, and the response of the state and its apparatus in efforts to maintain national unity and statehood
