Abstract

Background: Learning style represents one of the key elements that shape how effectively personals acquire knowledge and skills. A clear understanding of these styles plays a critical role in enhancing a learner’s ability to comprehend, process, and retain information, thereby supporting the optimisation of instructional strategies. By recognising the diversity of learning preferences, educators can design and implement teaching approaches that are more responsive to learners’ unique needs, ultimately leading to improved educational outcomes.Objecties: This study examined the connection among learning styles and academic performance among dental students enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine at Mulawarman University. Method: This study employed a quantitative approach by a cross-sectional research design. A total of 106 dentistry students by the Faculty of Medicine, Mulawarman University, participated as participants. Data collection was carried out utilizing the ARK (Visual, Auditory, Read/Write, and Kinesthetic) Learning Styles Questionnaire. The data obtained were subsequently processed and analyzed through univariate analysis utilizing frequency distribution and bivariate analysis utilizing the Kruskal–Wallis test. Results: The outcomes drew that the predominance of participants demonstrated a kinesthetic learning style (64.4%) and achieved good academic performance (97%). The bivariate analysis examining the connection among learning style and learning outcomes indicated a p-value of 0.805 (p > 0.05), recommending no statistically substantial association among the two variables. Conclusion: It can be outlined that there is no statistically substantial connection among learning style and academic performance among dentistry students at the Faculty of Medicine, Mulawarman University.

Abstract

Nurses are health workers who work in hospitals. Nurses of childbearing age are advised to use contraception to space their births to support performance. Husband's support is very necessary in making the decision to use contraception of choice, especially for nurses at RSI Cawas, most of whom are couples of childbearing ages so that birth spacing can be arranged and does not burden the nurses at work due to frequent pregnancies. Contraception will not work without cooperation between husband and wife and without trust between each other. The coverage of active family planning participants in Klaten Regency in 2020 was 152,764 (78.4%), an increase compared to 2019 of 74.8%. The aim of this research was to determine the relationship between family support and the use of contraceptives among nurses at RSU Islam Cawas. Research method: analytical descriptive research with a cross sectional approach. The research sample was all nurses who were classified as women of childbearing age at RSU Islam Cawas Klaten. The sampling technique uses total sampling. The total sample was 48 respondents. The data collection instrument uses a questionnaire. Bivariate statistical tests use chi square. The research results showed that the characteristics of the respondents in this study were an average age of 33.27 years and an average of 2 children, most of them had a DIII nursing education (60.4%), and the contraceptive method used was modern (29.2%). Family support in the use of contraceptives is mostly good (37.5%), most of the nurses use contraceptives (68.8%). The results of bivariate analysis obtained a p value of 0.028 (p < 0.05). The conclusion of this research is that there is a relationship between family support and the use of contraceptives among nurses at RSU Islam Cawas.

In 2023, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia reported a 12% increase in personality disorder cases, including NPD, compared to the previous year, with most cases identified among young individuals who were actively engaged in social media use.People who have narcissistic tendencies have a high intensity of social media use. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-esteem and social media NPD behavior in students of the Health Study Program, Muhammadiyah University of Klaten. This study used quantitative with the Cross-sectional method. The sampling technique in this study used Stratified Random Sampling. The sample in this study was 161 respondents of Level 1 Health Study Program students, Muhammadiyah University of Klaten. Abstract

This study addresses the challenges of managing religious habituation programs in strengthening students’ character at the junior secondary school level. The research aims to describe the management of the Bina Siswa Iman dan Bina Siswa Iman Dan Takwa (BINWA IMTAK)) religious habituation program through a collaborative research approach. The study was conducted at SMPN 1 Purwakarta and SMPN 2 Karangtengah Cianjur using a qualitative descriptive methodology. Data were collected through document analysis and semi-structured interviews with school leaders and teachers. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing using the Plan–Do–Check–Act (PDCA) management framework. The findings indicate that program planning in both schools is aligned with the schools’ vision and mission, program implementation is carried out consistently according to each school’s context, evaluation focuses on monitoring changes in students’ religious behavior and discipline, and follow-up actions emphasize strengthening a religious school culture. The study concludes that the success of Bina Siswa Iman Dan Takwa (BINWA IMTAK), program is not determined by uniformity of activities, but by effective program management, contextual adaptation, and consistent role modeling by educators

Abstract

Background: Propolis from stingless bees Heterotrigona itama(H.itama) is a promising natural product with diverse biomedical applications. However, its bioactivity and antioxidant for wound healing remain poorly understood. This study aimed to evaluate phytochemical profile, and antioxidant activity of H. itama propolis collected from land forest in Kalimantan, Indonesia. Methods: Qualitative phytochemical screening was performed to identify secondary metabolites, and antioxidant capacity was assessed using the DPPH radical scavenging assay with ascorbic acid as a reference standard. The result of the phytochemical content and antioxidant activity will be compared with the literature study on wound healing. Results: Phytochemical tests showed the presence of flavonoids, saponins, tannins, phenolics, triterpenoids, terpenoids, and DPPH assay revealed  antioxidant activity with an IC₅₀ value of 159.91 ppm compared to 2.71 ppm for ascorbic acid. Conclusion: H. itama propolis biologically active, demonstrating  antioxidant potential linked to its phenolic and flavonoid content. These findings support that phytochemical content and antioxidant activity are  potentials for wound healing.

Abstract

Background: Exposure to PM2.5 air pollution is a major risk factor for exacerbations and decreased lung function in asthmatics. The World Health Organization has declared air pollution a global health emergency. Fine PM2.5 particles trigger oxidative stress, chronic inflammation, and impaired airway clearance, which exacerbate airway obstruction. Purpose: Analyzing the effectiveness of chest physiotherapy in improving airway clearance in asthma patients exposed to PM2.5. Method: Using a pretest-posttest design, this study compared Peak Expiratory Flow (PEF) values in the first week as a baseline, with values recorded in the second and third weeks after chest physiotherapy intervention. The Wilcoxon test was used to analyze differences in PEF values over time. Results: Analysis showed a significant increase in PEF values between the first and second weeks (Z = -6.88, p < 0.00) and between the first and third weeks (Z = -7.51, p < 0.00). The majority of participants showed an increase in PEF, with positive ratings of 72 in the second week and 75 in the third week, indicating improved airway clearance after the intervention. Conclusion: Chest physiotherapy effectively improves airway clearance and ventilation function in asthma sufferers exposed to PM2.5, thus having the potential to become an applicable and sustainable non-pharmacological, environmentally based nursing intervention.
