Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the use of Central Java folklore as a strengthening of character building on Indonesian learning. This research is a case study which belongs to qualitative research and uses document as the data analysis. The object of this research is Central Java folklore, classroom observation result, lesson plan and syllabus of VII grade second semester, and the interview script of teacher and student. The technique of subject taking used is purposive sampling. The technique of collecting data is observation, interview, and document analysis. The validity test is using method triangulation and source triangulation. The data analysis technique is interactive analysis technique which consists of data reduction, data display, and building meaning and interpretation.The researcher found that, first, the intrinsic element of Central Javafolklore was encouraged by the characters in each story. Second, the value of character building on Central Javafolklore that existed in the characters. Third, the use of Central Javafolklore in Indonesian learning begins with planning in the form of lesson plan development based on the syllabus that has been prepared by the government. The planning, the implementation of learning begins from preparing the physical and psychological learners by providing stimulus in the form of motivation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study are to describe and explain: (1) the variety of language errors in complex explanation text of the student work of XI MIPA 1 SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta, (2) the most dominant language errors, (3) causes of error, and (4) teacher's effort to overcome the causes of language error in writing complex explanatory text of students. The results of this study are as follows. First, there are four elements of language errors in complex explanation text of the student work, namely: spelling, diction, sentence, and paragraph. Second, the dominant language errors in the complex explanatory text of the student work are a spelling mistake. Thirdly, language errors that often occur in the complex explanatory text of the student work is caused by several factors, as follows: lack of learning time about spelling due to integrated with existing Indonesian language materials, less thorough in writing, low motivation of students in writing because writing is difficult, as well as student habits of writing without regard to EYD. Fourth, efforts can be made to overcome the causes of language errors in writing complex explanatory texts, among others: increase the spelling time of spelling, increase writing exercises, foster student motivation in writing activities, and increase student mastery of spelling and language rules.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the structural error of the text and language of the observation report of the seventh grade students of SMP Kristen 1 Surakarta. This study is a qualitative descriptive study with a sample of observational reports from students of SMP Kristen 1 Surakarta. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling.Data collection techniques used were document analysis and in-depth interviews. The analysis technique used is flow analysis because the data analyzed is unchanging, which includes data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing. The conclusions of this study are as follows. The first mistakes found in student corals include text structure errors, paragraph errors, sentence errors, word choice errors, and spelling mistakes. The two errors that occur in the student observation report are due to several factors including: lack of writing practice, lack of interest in reading, lack of understanding of the rules of writing in Indonesian.

Abstract

Indonesia Lawyers Club is a television program by TV ONE aired every Tuesday at 19:30 to 22:00 p.m and discussed the issues being discussed by the Indonesian people at that time. Indonesia Lawyers Club is a program in a talk show format, presenting experts discussing law, politics, religion, crime. From this event, people see a problem not only from a single point of view but from different perspectives. This happens because this talk show presented many experts in their fields, both for the pro and on the counter. Experts argue their opinions according to the channel hosted by a host named Karni Ilyas. This research has a purpose to explain the fulfillment of the politeness principle of language in talk show Indonesia Lawyer Club viewed from Leech’s perspective. This research is descriptive qualitative one. Data collection techniques were used were Uninvolved Conversation Observation Technique (SBLC), recording technique, and note-taking. The data obtained was described using a descriptive development pattern. This study showed the results of the fulfillment of usage of language politeness principle which included 6 maxims, they were maxim of wisdom, maxim of acceptance, maxim of mercy, maxim of humility, maxim of suitability, and maxim of conclusion.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan mengenai (1) bentuk-bentuk corrective feedback yang diberikan kepada siswa dalam pembelajaran menulis karya ilmiah; (2) alasan pemberian corrective feedback; dan (3) dampak pemberian corrective feedback dalam pembelajaran menulis karya ilmiah. Teknik pengambilan subjek penelitian dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) bentuk-bentuk corrective feedback yang diberikan dalam karya ilmiah antara lain, corrective feedback langsung: eksplisit feedback, masukan metalinguistik, dan elisitasi feedback, serta corrective feedback tak langsung. Corrective feedback langsung adalah feedback yang dominan diberikan guru, (2) faktor yang melatarbelakangi diberikannya corrective feedback langsung adalah untuk memudahkan siswa dalam menemukan kesalahan yang pertama kali dilakukan, diperikirakan siswa benar-benar tidak tahu bentuk yang benar, dan guru kesulitan memberi penanda feedback tak langsung pada jenis kesalahan tertentu. Adapun alasan yang memengaruhi pemberian corrective feedback tak langsung, yaitu lebih mengefisienkan waktu guru, kesalahan penulisan kata yang diulang-ulang, guru mempercayai siswa memahami maksud pemberian tanda, dan mengukur pemahaman siswa, (3) dampak pemberian corrective feedback langsung yaitu siswa segera mengetahui letak kesalahannya sekaligus membetulkannya, pelaksanaan koreksi lebih terfokus, dan menghindari kesalahan selanjutnya. Dampak dari feedback tak langsung adalah siswa termotivasi melakukan diskusi, waktu koreksi lebih efisien, dan pemahaman siswa dalam menulis dapat diukur. Kata kunci: corrective feedback, langsung dan tak langsung, menulis, karya ilmiah Abstract The aims of this research is to describes and explains about (1) corrective feedback forms that given to the students in a scientific writing study; (2) the reasons in corrective feedback provision on scientific writing learning; (3) the impact that given from corrective feedback provision on scientific writing learning. Technique of research subject is purposive sampling. The result of this study are (1) corrective feedback forms that provided by the teacher to students in scientific writing learning are direct corrective feedback: explicit feedback, metalinguistik feedback, elicitasi feedback, and indirect corrective feedback. Direct corrective feedback is the dominant feedback given by teacher, (2) the factors underlying the direct corrective feedback are to make it easier for students to find mistakes that were first made, it is thought that students really do not know the correct form, and teachers have difficulty giving markers of indirect feedback on certain types of errors The reasons that influence of indirect feedback, which is more efficient time, repetition of mistakes, teacher believe that the students understand the purpose of sign, and measure the understanding of learners, (3) the impact of providing direct corrective feedback is that students immediately find out where their mistakes are at the same time correcting them, implementing more focused corrections, and avoiding further mistakes. The impact of indirect feedback is that students are motivated to have discussions, correction time is more efficient, and student understanding in writing can be measured. Abstract

Character education can be instilled in various ways. One of them is through literature. Literature itself is very diverse until now. Among young people, one of the works that have a lot of interest is short stories (short stories), because a short story contains interesting stories to read. In addition, the work also contains a message about positive things. This study aims to describe the value of character education in the collection of short stories Compass 2018 Doa Yang Terapung. Research is included in qualitative research. The method in this study uses descriptive qualitative. The data source in this study is a collection of short stories from Compass 2018 Doa Yang Terapung. Data collection in this study was carried out by reading and understanding short stories and recording data containing the value of character education in the 2018 Compass short story collection Doa Yang Terapung. Data analysis in this study uses the Miles and Huberman flow model, namely data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. The results of this study indicate the values of character education in the 2018 Kompas short story collection Doa Yang Terapung, among others a) the value of religious character education (the value of religious character praying to God, the value of religious character accepting destiny, the value of religious character believing & surrendering to God's destiny; b) the value of nationalist character education (the value of nationalist character, the spirit of heroism, the value of nationalist character). willing to sacrifice for his family, and c) the value of independent character education (character values of a good work ethic, professional character values, creative character values).

Abstract

This research is aimed to describe 1) the form of Javanese used in the students’ politeness language on Indonesian lesson at Vocational School; and 2) the  special characteristics of Javanese used in the students’ politeness language on Indonesian lesson at Vocational School. This is descriptive qulitative reseacrh with sociopragmatics approach. The data are the politeness uttarances made by the student which reflect from the form and special characteristics of Javanese in Indonesian language lesson at vocational school. The data are collected by using listening-free-participating-speaking (simak bebas libat cakap/SBLC) technique and data transcription. The data analyzing technique use Miles and Huberman interactive model, that consists of four steps, they are collecting data, reducing data, analizing data and verifying or conclusion drawing by pragmatics comparing methods. The result of the research shows that the form  of politeness using in  Javanese by students are 1) tact maxim; 2) agreement maxim; and 3) the sympathy maxim. The special characteristic of Javanese language uttered by the students are ‘yowis’, ‘rapopo’, ‘genah’ ‘nggih’, ‘apik’, ‘mawon’, ‘mugo’, dan ‘mbah putri’.Keyword: forms of students’ politeness, Vocational School, Javanese LanguageWUJUD KESANTUNAN BERBAHASA SISWA DI SRAGEN, JAWA TENGAHAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) wujud penggunaan bahasa Jawa dalam kesantunan berbahasa siswa dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan; dan (2) kekhasan bahasa Jawa dalam kesantunan berbahasa siswa dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan sosiopragmatik. Data berupa tuturan siswa yang mencerminkan wujud dan kekhasan bahasa Jawa dalam tuturan kesantunan berbahasa ketika pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di SMK. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik simak bebas libat cakap (SBLC) dan transkripsi data. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman yang terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu pengumpulan data, reduksi data, analisis data, dan verifikasi atau penarikan simpulan dengan metode padan pragmatis. Hasil penelitian ditemukan bentuk bahasa Jawa dalam kesantunan berbahasa siswa terdapat pada (1) maksim kebijaksanaan; (2) maksim kesepakatan; dan (3) maksim kesimpatian. Kekhasan bahasa Jawa yang digunakan dalam tuturan siswa ditandai dengan penggunaan kata ‘yowis’, ‘rapopo’, ‘genah’ ‘nggih’, ‘apik’, ‘mawon’, ‘mugo’, dan ‘mbah putri’.Kata kunci: wujud kesantunan berbahasa siswa, Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan, bahasa Jawa

Abstract

The inaccuracy in the assessment results in the difficulty of students expressing themselves in spoken language. The purpose of this research is related to the context, this study examines the condition of the characteristics of students, educators, and the campus environment, as a support for the implementation of the speaking competency assessment. Input, relating to materials and facilities developed to support the implementation of speaking competency assessment. Process, related to the implementation of the speaking competency assessment. The product, the quantity of the achievement of the assessment objectives, the quality of the achievement of the assessment objectives, and the benefits of the achievement of the assessment objectives, from the implementation of the speaking competency assessment at Higher Education. Judging from the type, This study is included in the CIPP evaluation study. The data in this study are qualitative. The data in this study are in the form of googleform, syllabus, RPS, interviews, and the results of standard agreements in focus group discussions and observations of the learning process. This research involved three lecturers each from three Islamic universities in Surakarta, 479 students, and 14 study programs. The results of this study indicate that in the context implementation, input, process, product, and assessment have not fully met the standards set by the government in Permendikbud Number 3 of 2020. Learning to speak Indonesian subjects is based on HOTS although there are several aspects of the assessment that are still LOTS.

Abstract

The transformation of literary work today began to flourish in the field of literary studies, especially from novel to film form. The process of transformation on the form of poetry to other forms is still rare, but in this study researchers managed to find transformation from the poem Nyanyian Angsa by W. S. Rendra to novel Maria Zaitun by Joko Santoso. This research aims to describe the form of additions, substitutions, and differences in the poetry Nyanyian Angsa by W. S. Rendra and novel Maria Zaitun by Joko Santoso. The theory used in this study is transformation with qualitative descriptive research methods. The source of this research data is the poem text Nyanyian Angsa by W. S. Rendra and novel Maria Zaitun by Joko Santoso. Data collection techniques using reading techniques and note taking techniques, as well as interactive data analysis from Miles & Huberman (1992). The results of this study showed that additions, substitutions, and differences from poetry to novels found similarities and differences. The difference is because the building elements of the two literary works are different, but overall the literary works have similarities.

Abstract

Abstract: Writing is a skill about pouring an idea or concept in form of write (written). The research conducted in the XI TKR 4 class off SMK NU Ma'arif Kudus showed that the value of the student writing skill is still low. This research purpose is to raise a writing skills by using the peer teaching method. This research was conducted from April to March. The subjects in this study were teachers and students of class XI TKR 4 of SMK NU Ma'arif Kudus. Data in the form of photos, videos, lesson plans, test results, lists of values, notes on interview results and field notes. Data sources include: informants, places and events, and documents. The validity of the data uses triangulation method and triangulation data source. Data analysis techniques use critical analysis techniques and comparative descriptive techniques. Indicator of achievement is 80%. Research procedures consist of planning, implementing actions, and reporting. In cycle I their learning motivation was in the moderate category, namely 53,12%, in cycle II it was in the high category, namely 78,12. The attainment of explanation writing competence in cycle I 68,75% of the students attained the MMC, in cycle II 90,62% of the students attained the MMC. The results of the study showed that the application of the peer teaching method was able to improve the explanatory writing skills of students in class XI TKR 4 SMK NU Ma'arif Kudus.
