Abstract

This research was conducted to understand the perception of people in Tawangmangu, Central Java in terms of the potential of teaching TEK in primary schools, challenges, and teaching strategies. We conducted semi-structured and unstructured interviews with 77 participants (local TEK experts, local communities, educators, and education officials). TEK in Tawangmangu includes folktales, ceremonies, offerings, typical food, terraced farming, intercropping systems, irrigation systems, crop management, herbal medicine, traditional house, and social system. Participants supported the idea because the TEK began to become extinct and identified its delivery in formal schools as a bridge to maintain it. Factors identified as obstacles are limited study time, limited access to subject matter, lack of political support, and differences in the characteristics of knowledge transfer between science and TEK. Participants claimed that the most appropriate strategy for teaching it in primary schools was to bring students closer to the real context. To teach it, the teacher chooses a number of contextual learning methods that are considered suitable, like field trips, role playing, task-based learning, and project-based learning.

Abstract

This research is a descriptive qualitative study that examines the relevance of social criticism on Stand Up Comedy Indonesia towards anecdotal text learning in high school. Stand Up Comedy is a form of comedy or comedy that is delivered monologically to the audience. Stand Up comedy is not only an entertaining spectacle, but every material that is aired is criticized or the message delivered. The purpose of this study was to identify the relevance of social criticism on Stand Up Comedy Indonesia towards anecdotal text learning in high school. The data in this study are in the form of a Stand Up Comedy Indonesia video. The primary data source in this study is Stand Up comedy Kompas TV documents and videos on YouTube. While secondary data sources are relevant primary books, international journals, papers, etc. that are needed in the study of theory. The data collection technique in this study is by documentation and literature. The analysis technique used in this study uses qualitative analysis techniques. Because the data obtained are in the form of texts from various different literary sources, a text analysis is needed. The results of this study are three things. 1) The discourse of stand Up comedy academy has the same structure , namely based on the genre of discourse. 2) The schema and discourse sequence of stand Up comedy academy are in accordance with anecdotal texts, namely those that have components of abstract structure, orientation, crisis, reaction and code. The division of structures can be divided into two parts, complete structure and incomplete. 3) The implementation of the results of this study can be used as teaching material at the eleventh grade high school about producing coherent anecdotal texts in accordance with the characteristics of the text made both orally and in writing.

Abstract

Urban people was rich with traditional culture, like folktales, and traditional ceremonies. It was valuable as traditional ecological knowledge (TEK), but people had been forgotten. The integration of TEK into  learning in s  primary school   may be a key tool for the the potential to improve the delivery of educational objectives about science. This paper explores perceptions about using of the value of TEK into formal education, especially in rural primary school. We conducted  interviews with 52 participants (educators, officials, and local TEK experts) regarding the use of the formal school system to transmit, maintain, and revitalise TEK in Tawangmangu, Karanganyar District. Participants reported that TEK in Tawangmangu had eroded and identified the formal school system as a principal driver. Most interviewees believed that if an appropriate format could be developed, TEK could be included in the formal education system. Such an approach has potential to maintain customary knowledge and practice in the focus communities.  Participants identified several specific domains  for inclusion in school curricula, including diversity of food knowledge, agricultural knowledge and practice, especially corn and vegetables, and the reinforcement of respect for traditional authority and values. TEK has potential to add value to formal education in  primary school in Tawangmangu by contextualizing the content and process of learning, and by facilitating character development and self-awareness in students. These benefits are relevant with UNESCO-mandated goals for curricular reform and provide a strong argument for the inclusion of TEK in formal school. However, interviewees also noted a number of practical barriers to teaching TEK in primary school. These relates the cultural diversity and  views within the community. However, needed further research to the significant epistemological challenges inherent in including TEK in formal school, particularly as participants noted the potential for such approaches to have negative consequences.

Abstract

The cultural ceremony known as the Sedekah Laut is a ceremony held once a year, more precisely at the beginning of Shura month. This ceremony intends to give one a request for more abundant seafood than before. Sedekah Lautis related to the offering or named with alms to the Queen of South. This study aims to describe how the event of Sedekah Laut ritual in Cilacap. The method used in this research is observation and interview. This research is useful to increase the knowledge about culture in the archipelago for the readers and for the general public. The results indicate that the ritual has several functions for society that include social, cultural, economic, and religious dimensions. The special functions of the ceremony are to thank the Almighty God for his mercy to bless the community with the rest of the fish subsistence and to pray for the salvation of life

Abstract

Kesantunan bahasa saat berkomunikasi sangat mempengaruhi mitra tutur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendefinisikan dan mendeskripsikan kesantunan berbahasa dalam debat pemilihan Gubernur dan Wakil Gubernur DKI Jakarta 2017. Sumber data utama dalam penelitian ini peristiwa debat yang berbentuk video debat cagub dan cawagub DKI Jakarta dan sumber data pendukung, yaitu video rekaman dan transkrip debat cagub dan cawagub DKI Jakarta diakses melalui situs portal Youtube. Metode penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah konten analisis. Strategi dalam kesantunan bahasa dalam debat perdana pemilihan gubernur dan wakil gubernur DKI Jakarta 2017 menggunakan dua strategi, yaitu strategi kesantunan positif dan negatif. Strategi kesantunan positif, meliputi memperhatikan apa yang sedang dibutuhkan mitra tutur, menggunakan bentuk solidaritas, melibatkan mitratutur ke dalam aktivitas penutur, memberikan pujian kepada mitra tutur, menghindari ketidakcocokan, dan melucu. Dari ketujuh bentuk strategi di atas didominasi oleh bentuk menawarkan atau menjanjikan sesuatu. Sedangkan, strategi kesantunan negatif ditemukan hasil bahwa bentuk sikap pesimis mendominasi dibandikan dengan bentuk yang lain, seperti, ungkapan secara tidak langsung, meminimalkan paksaan, menggunakan bentuk pasif, ungkapan permohonan maaf, dan menggunakan bentuk plural. Kata Kunci : Kesantunan bahasa, kesantunan positif, debat  DKI Jakarta

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) jenis kesalahan berbahasa; (2) frekuensi kesalahan berbahasa yang paling banyak ditemukan; (3) faktor penyebab terjadinya kesalahan berbahasa; dan (4) upaya yang dilakukan untuk meminimalkan kesalahan berbahasa pada karangan eksposisi siswa kelas X IIS. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan content analysis. Partisipan penelitian ini adalah 130 karangan siswa kelas X IIS Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri 6 Surakarta. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah analisis dokumen (content analysis) dan wawancara mendalam (in-dept interview-ing). Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan model analisis interaktif. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut. Pertama, kesalahan bahasa dalam karangan eksposisi siswa dibagi menjadi tiga kesalahan: kesalahan kalimat, kesalahan diksi, dan kesalahan ejaan. Kedua, kesalahan ejaan adalah kesalahan yang paling banyak ditemukan pada karangan eksposisi siswa dengan frekuensi tertinggi pada penggunaan tanda koma. Ketiga, faktor penyebab kesalahan bahasa pada karangan eksposisi siswa, antara lain: minimnya pengetahuan siswa tentang kaidah penulisan, minimnya motivasi membaca siswa, kecenderungan siswa menomorduakan tata tulis dibandingkan ide karangan, kebisaan siswa untuk tidak merevisi karangan sebelum dikumpulkan, suasana kelas yang tidak kondusif, dan tuntutan kompetensi menulis yang sebatas benar secara struktur teks. Keempat, upaya yang dilakukan untuk meminimalisasi kesalahan berbahasa, antara lain guru segera mengklarifikasi kesalahan berbahasa siswa yang ditemukan dalam pembelajaran, antar-siswa melakukan aktivitas saling-baca karangan sebelum dikumpulkan kepada guru, dan penambahan alokasi waktu untuk aktivitas menulis di kelas.

Abstract

Traditional ecological knowledge (TEK) is the best indigenous practice acquired through centuries of experience in contact with nature. The rural area in Tawangmangu District, located on the slopes of Mount Lawu, Indonesia, is rich in TEK, such as folklore, traditional ceremonies, performing arts, planting systems, and harvesting systems that are starting to be abandoned young. Teaching TEK by bringing students to learning resources allows literacy to occur in cognitive and affective aspects. This study was conducted to determine the effect of teaching through field trips on improving the literacy of local elementary school students in TEK literacy. The study was conducted through a quasi-experimental with pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. Learning in the experimental class is carried out outside the home with field trips in small groups (4-6 students), while the control class is carried out using a distance learning system via WhatsApp and radio broadcasts at each student's home. The results show a significant effect of the field trip method on TEK literacy, both in cognitive and affective aspects. d Cohen's analysis shows the effect is quite significant. The level of mastery of TEK material in the field trip class is significantly higher than in the non-field trip class. In addition, students in the field trip class also showed higher pro-environment attitudes than students in the non-field trip class. It is recommended that environmental or local cultural education be held through field visits in small groups to reduce student boredom following distance learning during the pandemic in rural areas.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan penyebab disharmoni manusia dengan lingkungan dalam novel O karya Eka Kurniawan. Penelitian ini tergolong sebagai penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan ekokritik sastra. Ekokritik adalah studi sastra yang berupaya mempertimbangkan, menafsirkan, dan mengevaluasi karya sastra berdasarkan sudut pandang ekologi. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah novel O karya Eka Kurniawan. Data penelitian terdiri dari bentuk-bentuk disharmoni manusia dengan lingkungan dalam novel O karya Eka Kurniawan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik dokumen atau studi pustaka terhadap karya sastra yang berupa novel. Analisis data dilakukan secara interaktif, yakni meliputi proses: reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, ada sembilan penyebab terjadinya disharmoni manusia dengan lingkungan yaitu: (1) kemiskinan; (2) ketidaktahuan; (3) gaya hidup; (4) fundamental filosofis; (5) pertumbuhan penduduk; (6) teknologi; (7) lemahnya komitmen bersama; (8) lemahnya penegakan hukum; dan (9) buruknya tata kelola pemerintah.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the achievement of basic competencies (BC) and evaluate Indonesian language learning for each basic competency. This study uses qualitative descriptions and quantitative data. The results showed that in class VIIIE there were five students who had not reached the KKM and 7.5% was in the low category, 62.5% was in the medium category, and 30% was in the high category. Class VIIIF there are three students who have not reached the KKM and 2.5% is in the low category, 50% is in the medium category, and 47.5% is in the high category.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal and describe the phenomenon of disharmony between humans and the environment in the novel Lelaki Harimau by Eka Kurniawan. The form of this research is descriptive qualitative. This is motivated by the fact that the analysis of this research is considered a literary product that forms the conceptual basis. The data source of this research is a novel entitled Lelaki Harimau by Eka Kurniawan. The data of this research include words, phrases, clauses, and sentences that focus on the disharmony of humans with the environment in the novel. The data were collected using document study techniques, namely by recording documents or archives related to the problem being studied. The results showed that in Eka Kurniawan's novel Lelaki Harimau, there were four forms of disharmony between humans and the environment, namely (1) exploitation of animals, (2) exploitation of forests, (3) pollutants, and (4) land functions. The form of disharmony that is most often found in the novel is related to the problem of animal exploitation.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan mengungkapkan dan mendeskripsikan fenomena disharmoni manusia dengan lingkungan dalam novel Lelaki Harimau karya Eka Kurniawan. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Hal itu dilatarbelakangi bahwa analisis penelitian ini dianggap sebagai produk sastra yang menjadi landasan konseptual. Sumber data penelitian ini berupa novel berjudul Lelaki Harimau karya Eka Kurniawan. Data penelitian ini mencakupi kata, frasa, klausa, dan kalimat yang berfokus pada disharmoni manusia dengan lingkungan dalam novel tersebut. Data-data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan teknik studi dokumen, yakni dengan cara mencatat dokumen atau arsip yang berkaitan dengan masalah yang sedang diteliti. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam novel Lelaki Harimau karya Eka Kurniawan terdapat empat bentuk disharmoni manusia dengan lingkungan, yaitu (1) eksploitasi binatang, (2) eksploitasi hutan, (3) polutan, dan (4) penyalahgunaan fungsi lahan. Bentuk disharmoni yang paling sering ditemukan dalam novel tersebut ialah terkait masalah eksploitasi binatang.
