Abstract

This study was aimed to know the procedure of implementing a solution focused brief counseling to improve student autonomy and to study and validating the contents of guidebook for a solution focused brief counseling model. This type of research is research and development (R&D), the research model using Four-D (4D). The Four-D model consists of four stage of research that is defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. Data analysis to test the validity of the manual book content using the Lawshe CVR and CVI formulas. Tests carried out by 5 experts who are competent in Counseling and Psychological Guidance. The results of the research based on validity analysis of the content are, the CVR values per item obtained between +1 to 0 (CVR> 0). Furthermore, the results of the Lawshe CVI analysis obtained a score of 0.97 greater than 0 (0.97> 0). Based on the analysis of these data, the validity value of the manual book content is high.

Abstract

The purpose of this development is to produce instruments of self-aggressiveness assessment instruments for students, valid and reliable. The method used is research and development is a research method used to produce certain products, and test the effectiveness of these products. The 4D model research and development model consists of 4 stages, namely; define, design, develop and disseminate. In this study, validation was carried out by 5 experts consisting of 3 Undiksha Counseling Postgraduate lecturers and 2 BK counselors. The results of the calculation of the CVR instrument of self-aggression with 30 statements get results more than 0 (> 0), which means 30 items are declared valid instruments. Furthermore, an analysis of CVI data with results of 0.58 or CVI of more than 0, then the questionnaire instrument was declared valid. After calculating the reliability value (r11) the self-aggressiveness instrument is 0.931 with a very high reliability category.

Abstract

Research conducted is research and development or research and development (R&D), the research model used is Four-D (4D). The 4D model consists of four stages of research namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. Data analysis to test the validity of the manual book product content using the Lawshe CVR and CVI formulas. Testing for products is carried out by 5 experts or experts who are competent in the field of Counseling Guidance. The results of the study based on content validity are CVR values per item +1 to 0 (CVR> 0). Thus, the results of the Lawshe CVI analysis obtained 0.79 greater than 0 (0.79> 0). Based on the analysis of these data the validity value of the contents of this guide product is high.

Abstract

This research was conducted to be able to provide a behavioral counseling module with relaxation techniques to Primigravida TM III mothers where it is hoped that Primigravida TM III mothers can relax in facing the process of pregnancy and childbirth later. This type of research is Research and Development (R & D), the research model used is Four-D (4 D). The 4D model consists of four stages, namely: define, design, develop and disseminate, but dissemination is not carried out due to the COVID 19 pandemic. Analysis to test the validity of the instrument using the Lawshe CVR and CVI formulas by testing. by 5 experts in their expert fields, namely Guidance and Counseling Experts, Psychology Experts and Health Experts from both educational institutions and Health service providers (Midwives Independent Practice). The results showed that the CVR score was 21.6 and the CVI score was 0.9818, so the content of the product was important and based on data analysis, the value of the product content validity in the form of a behavioral counseling module in Trimester III primigravida was high and significant.

Abstract

The readiness and mental challenges of health care front-liners are one of the big issues that need to be addressed by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) and also the Malaysian Board of Counselors (MBC). This is to ensure that all threats to health care front-liners can be overcome in order to streamline the duties of fighting the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia. Therefore, this study aims to understand the readiness and mental challenges of health front workers (Font liners) in facing the COVID-19 pandemic. This study uses a qualitative design with a case study approach. The study participants consisted of two medical officers and two nurses from the states of Johor and Sabah who had more than six months of experience in handling COVID-19 cases. Study data were obtained through semi-structured interview techniques. The findings state that there are two sub-theme codes from the mental readiness of health care front liners and four subtrahend codes from the mental challenges of health care front liners in facing the COVID-19 pandemic. Information from this study can be used by the MOH and MBC in dealing with the possible mental health issues of the health care front liner, post-COVID-19 in Malaysia.

Abstract

Social anxiety is one of the psychological problems faced by most of students. Several research findings have revealed negative effects that arise due to the high level of social anxiety experienced by students. Based on this phenomenon, schools play a major role in efforts to minimize the level of social anxiety experienced by students through optimizing guidance and counseling services. This research and development aim at testing the acceptability and effectiveness a solution-focused brief counseling guidebook to minimize students' social anxiety. The development procedure using 4D steps, such as, define, design, develop, and desimination of the product. The amount five judgment involve to validating the contents of guidebook. For the piloting, one group pretest-post test experimental procedure involve 15 junior high school students. The data analysis for judgments results show that the counseling guidebook developed in this study has a special content validity index (CVI). Based on the results of the piloting study, counseling guidebook  a solution-focused brief counseling guidebook with the miracle question technique was effective in reducing students' social anxiety. The results of this study contribute to the optimization of guidance and counseling services in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate solution-focused brief counseling guidebook as an instrument to reduce student’s academic procrastination. This research and development conducted by following 4D model by Thiagarajan that consist four stages of development namely (1) define, (2) design, (3) development, and (4) disseminate. Five experts are involved as judges to evaluate the content validity of counseling guidebook. The piloting study were conducted in one group pretest-posttest design to evaluate the effectivity of counseling guidebook to reduce student’s academic procrastination. Result of expert judgments were analyzed using formula Lawshe and show that the counseling guidebook has “very special” content validity index ( CVI = 1). Based on the results of piloting study, it was reported that counseling guidebook developed in this study effective in decrease student’s academic procrastination levels. The results of this study contribute to the development of guidance and counseling services.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic is affecting to the learning process in school. As an effort to reduce the spread of virus, all of learning activity now conducted via online. Various obstacles arise during the online learning. This new condition increase the level of student’s stress and requires students ready to make self-change. This study is research and development that aims to develop and evaluate the classical guidance module as an instrument to help students make self-change in order to reduce their stress. The development procedure conducted by following 4D model (Thiagarajan, 1974). Five expert involved as judges to evaluate the content validity of module and 30 students were involved as subject on piloting study. Results of expert judgement were analyzed using formula Lawshe and show the module has a “very special” content validity index ( CVI = 1). Results of piloting study show the module has “very good” category in all aspect of evaluation. Based on the results, it show that the classical guidance module developed in this study feasible to use as an instrument to help students make self-change in order to reduce their stress levels due to COVID-19.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the behavioral counseling model with modeling techniques to improve self-autonomy and self-endurance for senior high school students. This experimental study used a pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. Through random sampling, 34 students were placed in the experimental group and 32 students were placed in the control group. Data collection used the main data collection method (questionnaire) and complementary data collection methods (observations, interviews, and diaries). The data were analyzed by One-way MANOVA. The results show that there are differences in self-autonomy and self-endurance in the experimental class and control class ( sig = 0.039). The results of Cohen D analysis showed a high level of effectiveness (ES = 0.8). These results prove that behavioral counseling with modeling techniques is effective for improving student’s self-autonomy and self-endurance.

Abstract

This study aim at calibrating the Indonesian version technology addiction scale by using the Rasch model analysis. The Rasch model used on this study to get more accurate information about the scales fit and properties. The online survey involved 30 students of junior high school in east of Java Indonesia. There were 71 items of technology addiction from five dimension by initial development. Rasch analysis preform by WINSTEPS 3.73 program to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Indonesian version of technology addictive scale by exanimating the item-person fit measure, alpha Cronbach value, items-person separations index, dimensionality, the response pattern in scalogram, and items biases by gender. The results of this study show that’s there was 6 from 71 items that do not meet on the fit criteria and must be eliminated from the scale. The pattern of students’ response of every item this scale show that’s there were two respondents who indicated exchanging answers, this can be seen from the pattern of respondents' answers which only had differences in the pattern of answers in only three statements. The reliability of person and items in good criteria, 0.91 for item and 0,78 for person, and alpha Cronbach 0,82 is moderate good value. The DIF analysis show that’s there were five items gender biases and need to rewrite by the new statement. From total 64 items, the total value of the row variance explain by measure is 98.7%, it means this scale able and with good prediction to measure the technology addiction of the students. The conclusion of the study is about the 64 items of Indonesian version technology addiction scale for student is meet criteria to be a good measurement tool from the Rasch perfective.
