Abstract

Mawaris (Islamic inheritance law) learning at the senior high school level often encounters challenges, particularly students’ difficulties in understanding complex inheritance distribution calculations and the continued reliance on memorization-based learning methods without meaningful practice. This study aims to develop a drill method integrated with the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) cooperative learning model in Mawaris learning at SMA Al Minhaj Bogor. The study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method based on the Borg and Gall model, which was limited to seven stages. The research subjects consisted of 46 twelfth-grade students at SMA Al Minhaj Bogor. Data collection instruments included a Mawaris comprehension test (pretest–posttest), student activity observation sheets, and response questionnaires. The findings indicate that the drill–NHT method, developed through a six-step syntax (numbering, providing basic understanding, posing questions, heads together, calling a number, and providing feedback), was deemed feasible based on validation results from subject-matter experts (88%), media experts (85%), and instructional experts (87.5%). Field testing revealed an improvement in students’ learning outcomes, with the mean score increasing from 70 on the pretest to 82 on the posttest, yielding an N-gain score of 0.40 (moderate category). Active student participation increased from 45% to 82% following the implementation of the method. Students’ responses to the method were highly positive, with 89.8% reporting that it helped them learn. This study concludes that the development of the drill method using the NHT model showed potential for improving students’ learning outcomes and active participation.

Abstract

The rapid development of medical aesthetic practices has transformed contemporary perceptions of beauty and created new ethical challenges for Muslim women. Although Islamic teachings provide normative guidance concerning bodily modification, halal practices, modesty, and human dignity, Muslim women increasingly encounter aesthetic decisions within a digital environment shaped by social media, influencers, commercial advertising, and consumer culture. This study aims to examine the empirical need for an Islamic medical aesthetic education framework based on Maqasid al-Shariah and to formulate an educational direction that integrates religious, medical, ethical, psychological, and digital literacy. The study employs a sequential explanatory design with qualitative dominance. The first stage consists of a descriptive preliminary survey, followed by qualitative inquiry and an integration of empirical findings with Maqasid al-Shariah and Islamic educational theory. The preliminary survey was designed to map respondents' experiences with medical aesthetics, beauty culture, social-media influence, medical-aesthetic literacy, Islamic ethical awareness, treatment experiences, and educational needs. The findings reveal two particularly significant patterns: 77.8% of respondents reported that social media influenced their perceptions or decisions concerning beauty, while 63.4% reported having experienced negative effects from aesthetic products or treatments. These findings indicate a gap between normative religious knowledge and practical ethical decision-making. The study argues that Islamic medical aesthetic education should move beyond a purely halal–haram framework toward a comprehensive educational model oriented toward maslahah, safety, human dignity, self-acceptance, tazkiyat al-nafs, critical digital literacy, and responsible decision-making. The study proposes Maqasid-based aesthetic education as a relevant contribution to contemporary Islamic education for Muslim women.

Abstract

This study reframes halal-oriented skincare innovation from a formulation-centered issue into a Skin Health Management problem involving product evidence quality, halal assurance, claim credibility, consumer value, and responsible skincare behavior. Using a theory-driven conceptual synthesis supported by preliminary product-development evidence, the study uses a multi-active emulgel as an illustrative product case. The prototype exhibited a pH of 5.8 ± 0.2, viscosity of 3450 ± 150 cPs, spreadability of 5.3 ± 0.3 cm, no visible phase separation during the reported observation period, and a DPPH IC50 of 42.1 ppm under the applied assay conditions. These findings are treated as product evidence rather than proof of clinical anti-aging efficacy. The study proposes an Evidence-to-Value Framework for Skin Health Management in which Product Evidence Quality, Halal Assurance Quality, and Claim Credibility shape a Responsible Product Value Proposition that supports Perceived Long-Term Consumer Value and Responsible Skincare Consumption. Skin Health Management is conceptualized as an overarching long-term management perspective encompassing evidence-informed product selection, preventive orientation, consistent and appropriate use, outcome monitoring, safety awareness, and responsible consumption. The framework contributes to management literature by introducing an evidence-to-value perspective that explains how technical product evidence can be translated into responsible market value and long-term skin health management..   Keywords: skin health management; halal skincare; product evidence; consumer value; claim credibility; responsible consumption

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to develop and validate the "waqf signal model," a Sharia-compliant framework that integrates waqf assets with digital connectivity deployment in Indonesia’s frontier, outermost, and underdeveloped (3T) regions to alleviate digital inequality. It evaluates stakeholder roles, governance feasibility, Sharia alignment, operational sustainability, and the socio-economic impact of the model.Methodology – A qualitative exploratory approach was employed using a two-round Delphi technique with nine expert panelists representing telecommunications, Islamic finance, waqf management, mosque leadership, and local government. Additionally, a financial simulation was conducted to assess the operational viability of waqf-based Base Transceiver Station (BTS) deployment.Findings – The Delphi panel reached a strong consensus on the model's Shariah compatibility through contracts such as Ijarah Muntahiyah bi Tamlik (IMBT), Musyarakah, and Musharakah Mutanaqisah (MMQ). The panel underscored the necessity of multi-stakeholder governance involving nazhir, telecommunication operators, local authorities, and community wakif. A high consensus was also achieved regarding village digital outlets as dual-purpose hubs for commercial services and waqf benefit distribution. Conversely, revenue-sharing feasibility yielded mixed perspectives, highlighting the need for refined legal and contractual frameworks. Finally, the financial simulation demonstrated that operational sustainability could be achieved within approximately six years under stable market conditions.Implications – The proposed model offers a Sharia-aligned pathway for inclusive digital infrastructure, facilitating rural access to connectivity, digital financial services, and socio-economic empowerment while contributing to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 9, 10, and 17.Originality – This study pioneers the application of waqf in telecommunications, establishing an innovative model that synthesizes waqf asset utilization, BTS infrastructure deployment, multi-stakeholder governance, and rural digital inclusion.

Abstract

The work ethic material contained in the main Islamic Religious Education textbook is still general and does not adequately meet the needs of vocational high school students who will enter the workforce after graduation. A supplementary Islamic Religious Education teaching material addressing work ethic is needed for 12th-grade vocational high school students. The purpose of this study was to analyze the need for an Islamic Religious Education supplement on work ethic for 12th-grade vocational high school students, develop an Islamic Religious Education supplement on work ethic, and assess the feasibility of the Islamic Religious Education supplement on work ethic. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) study using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model. The results of the feasibility test for the Islamic Religious Education supplement on work ethic indicate that, in general, this supplement falls into the "Very Feasible" category. Validation by material, design, and language experts for this supplement on work ethic meets quality standards. Assessments from vocational high school Islamic Religious Education teachers and students indicate good acceptance. Keywords: supplement; teaching materials; Islamic Religious Education; work ethic; vocational high school.
