Abstract

Editorial text writing skills involve the students’ abilities to collect references based on experience. Collaboration, communication, and critical and creative thinking activities are indispensable for learning in the 21st century. Plural Partner Model A-21 is used in learning activities to write editorial texts. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of learning to write editorial texts using the Plural Partner A-21 model based on the specialization of vocational students. The research design used was quasi-experimental with a population of XII grade students of SMK in the 2019/2020 academic year. Data collection techniques using test and non-test techniques. The test technique was carried out by measuring the skills of students in writing editorial texts, while the non-test technique was carried out by using questionnaire sheets, observation, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the T-test and analysis of variance (Anova). The results prove that the use of the Plural Partner A-21 model is effective in learning editorial text writing skills based on the specialization of vocational students. Research benefits provide theoretical and practical advantages. Theoretically, this study can enrich the theory of learning to write editorial texts using a combination of the Plural Partner model with 21st century learning skills. The importance of this research for educators to increase the sense of responsibility for the quality of education in an era of disruption.

Abstract

The formation of student personalities that can be developed with writing explanatory texts enrichment book containing 21st century competencies includes aspects of knowledge, skills, and personality that are integrated with 21st century competencies that students must master. This study aims to analyze the need for enrichment book development in writing explanatory text with 21st century competencies and the characteristics of enrichment book development for writing explanatory text with 21st century competence. The research method uses the Research and Development and uses six steps out of ten steps in the R&D method. The results obtained from this study were an analysis of the needs of students and teachers which were grouped based on question aspects, namely (1) material and content needs, (2) 21st century competency content needs, (3) presentation needs, (4) language needs. and (5) legibility and graphics needs. This needs analysis is to determine the tendency of the needs of students and teachers to the form of the enrichment book being developed. Then, the characteristics of the enrichment book are writing explanatory texts containing 21st century competencies according to the perceptions of students and teachers in accordance with the principles of content feasibility, presentation feasibility, linguistic feasibility, and graphic feasibility. In addition, teachers and students are very in accordance with the form of the book that is being made easy to carry. Therefore, the development of an enrichment book to write explanatory texts containing 21st century competencies is in accordance with the wishes of teachers and students in using a learning resource.

Abstract

Learning model is standardization for developing the one's skill and in the interpersonal situations. This study aims to determine the effect of learning models to the test results of the students’ writing skill of the explanation text in class VIII grade at junior high school. This research is an ex-post-facto research. The population of this research is all students of VIII grade at SMP of the 2019/2020 academic year. The sample in this study were students of class VIIIA and VIIIB SMP N 22 Semarang with the amount of 64 students who were taken by cluster random sampling, namely by choosing two classes randomly. Data collection techniques were questionnaires for student learning model data and tests to obtain data on the results of the skill to write explanation text for class VIIIA and VIIIB students. The results showed that (1) students with auditory learning models had the highest average score rather than the others who use visual and other learning models. (2) the learning model in this study has a significant effect on the results of the students; skill to write explanation text. (3) The learning model in this study gives e a large effective contribution 89.9% to the results of the students’ writing skill of explanation text; this proved that the learning model is one of the important factors for the students' achievement in writing skill of explanation text.

Abstract

The enrichment book is one of the supporting tools of learning activities directed in developing of students’ knowledge, insights, and skills. The purpose of this research is to describe the profile and acceptability of the development of enrichment book in writing negotiation texts based on the 21st century’s competencies that are in appropriate with the students’ and educators’ needs. This research was conducted by seven stages that used a research and development design. The seven stages are (1) potential and problems, (2) information and data collection, (3) design of book’s profile, (4) validation test (5) revision (6) limited trial, and (7) final revision. The result of this research is a development of enrichment book for writing negotiation texts that is compiled with 21st century’s competencies (4C) which is directed at 21stcentury learning. The negotiation text that is developed contains of the 21st century’s competencies aspects, namely critical-thinking, creative, communicative, and collaborative. The acceptability of enrichment books for educators and students is an enrichment book that helps them understand and increase their knowledge of the materials in writing negotiation texts, and the presentation of enrichment book is adjusted to students’ characteristics and their development level. The theoretical benefits of this research can be used as an alternative theory in developing an enrichment book that is customized to the need of 21st century’s students. The practical benefit can be used as a guide-book for the educators.

Abstract

A short story is one of the literary works. The variety of problems or events in short stories has no limits so the author has the freedom to present them. Therefore, the complexity of the themes presented by the authors is different. One of the differences is students at the junior and senior high school levels. Both enter the same cognitive development, namely the formal operational stage but have different characteristics of presenting the theme complexity. This study aimed to analyze the theme complexity of short stories written by students in the formal operational stage. This study consisted of two approaches, which were theoretical approach using an objective approach and methodological approach using a qualitative descriptive approach. The results showed that the theme complexity in short stories written by students in the operational stage was in the simple category. Based on the categories, it was found that the characteristics of short story essays for junior high school students were: (1) focusing on major themes, (2) writing short stories based on experiences or observations, (3) not presenting the theme of sexuality, and (4) rudimentary abstract thinking patterns. Then, the theme complexity in short stories written by high school students is in the medium category. According to the categories, it was found that the characteristics of short story essays for high school students were: (1) focusing on major and minor themes, (2) writing short stories based on imagination, (3) presenting the theme of sexuality, and (4) abstract thinking patterns are more perfect than junior high school level.

Abstract

Expository texts writing is important skill in stimulating students' abilities for expressing various thoughts, ideas, opinions, facts. Also, can improve students' abilities in using proper Indonesian. The effectiveness of learning expository texts writing can be increased through the selection of appropriate learning media. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effectiveness of learning writing expository texts contained disaster mitigation using video based on the creativity level of students in class X. The level of creativity of students is a moderate variable that can affect learning outcomes. This experimental research used a quasi-experimental factory design. Data collection was carried out through pre-test and post-test. Data analysis used paired sample t-test and ANOVA. The results of this study prove the influence of the use of learning media on student learning outcomes. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of video media is proven to be effective in improving the learning outcomes of writing exposition texts.

Abstract

The eighth independent learning is center of excellence with a new paradigm curriculum. In learning outcomes, the development of teaching module is carried out so that students are able to think creatively. This research aims to (1) Analyze the needs of students’ skills in writing procedure text with the Flipped Classroom learning model using e-learning media for class XI at SMK Center of Excellence in Hospitality Program (2) Develop the learning module for students’ skills in writing procedure text with the Flipped Classroom learning model using e-learning media for class XI at SMK Center of Excellence in Hospitality Program, (3) Measure the feasibility of learning module for students’ skills in writing procedure text with the Flipped Classroom learning model using e-learning media for class XI at SMK Center of Excellence in Hospitality Program. This research method used Research and Development with ten steps developed by Gall and Borg (2019:35), namely (1) Research and Information Collecting, Planning, Develop Preliminary Form of Product (Initial Product Development), Preliminary Field Testing, Main Product Revision, Main Field Testing, Operational Product Revision, Operational Field Testing, Final Revision Product, Dissemination and Implementation. The results of the research indicate: (1) Analysis of module needs from the results of observation, teacher and student interviews, and student and teacher questionnaires, (2) Development of learning module for skills in writing procedure text from material experts is stated “good”, media experts is stated “very good”, and education practitioners is stated “very good”. (3) The feasibility of learning module for skills in writing procedure text from the teacher response scale of score 61 is “very good” and the student’s response is “very good”.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the effectiveness of picture and picture model and synectic model in poetry writing study for 10th grade of Senior High School students. The populations for this research are the 10th grade Math and Science students of MA Assalafiyah and the 10th grade Math and Science students of SMA Negeri 1 Wanasari. The samples of this research are the first experiment group of 10th grade Math and Science students of MA Assalafiyah using picture and picture model and the second experiment group of 10th grade Math and Science students of SMA Negeri 1 Wanasari using synectic model. This research uses experimental research by applying factorial design. The result of this research shows that synectic model is more effective compared with the picture and picture model in poetry writing study for 10th grade of Senior High School students.

Abstract

Fenomena terkikisnya nilai-nilai budaya lokal dalam pendidikan dasar, seni tari Lengger Banyumasan, sebagai bagian dari warisan budaya Indonesia, diharapkan dapat berperan penting dalam pelestarian budaya serta pengembangan karakter siswa. Penelitian ini mengkaji peran seni tari Lengger Banyumasan sebagai ekstrakurikuler di sekolah dasar dalam pelestarian budaya dan pengembangan karakter siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif, dengan instrumen wawancara semi-terstruktur dan observasi partisipatif, melibatkan siswa, guru seni, dan orang tua. Analisis data dilakukan melalui reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan berdasarkan pola yang muncul. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterlibatan siswa dalam tari Lengger Banyumasan secara signifikan memperkuat identitas budaya dan keterampilan sosial, seperti kerjasama dan komunikasi. Meskipun ada tantangan terkait dukungan dan fasilitas, seni tari ini terbukti efektif sebagai media pelestarian budaya lokal. Dukungan dari komunitas dan pihak sekolah sangat penting untuk memastikan keberlanjutan dan pengembangan program ekstrakurikuler, sehingga dapat menciptakan generasi yang menghargai dan melestarikan warisan budaya.

Abstract

Art learning plays an important role in fostering students' creativity, especially at the elementary school level. In the era of modern education, the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) approach has been applied in various disciplines, including art, to provide a richer learning experience. This study explores the application of the STEM approach in art learning at Sekolah Indonesia Makkah and its impact on students' creativity. The methods used include qualitative and quantitative with observations, interviews, and questionnaires given to teachers and students. The results show that the application of the STEM approach can significantly improve aspects of student creativity, especially in the elements of originality, flexibility, and fluency of ideas. These findings are evidence that the STEM interdisciplinary approach can help meet the needs of innovative learning in a multicultural educational environment.
